Run by an international manager who is at the cutting edge and with some staff that have worked with the GM since his arrival 23(?) years and other a few years less, they have perfected hotel management! The elegance inside, the fantastic and spectacular bar - which gives You plenty of choice, great cuisine - also have the best French Fries served. I would say there is something to be had there for everyone, you may also smoke, I believe they have a piano (flugel) - this, and great seating area for seminars, dinners and conferencing make you wither wish to stay of become a frequent visitor. I like the food they cook, I many years ago organised cooking classes there and on this occasion just when Corona hit - the breakfast was my target and delight. They cook your scrambled eggs and bacon to your satisfaction, there are ample amounts of cheeses to choose, bread, yoghurts and beverages and beautifully served teas in pots. My kind of place to take in at - my favourite musicians and opera singers have discreetly taken in here - thus, Why not You? With the location in the Old Town juts a couple of squares away from the water front...you can take strolls by the sea, test other top restaurants of Latvian marvel, nearby - however, if you wish freshly felled game - or dear - then you have come right! Thank you to all involved here always looking great, superb attitude - no wonder you win prizes for your delivery. Keep going!

After reading the reviews on TripAdvisor I had very high expectations for The Grand Palace. We were there on a quiet weekend. I had ordered a small bottle of champagne and flowers. The flowers were great, but there was no champagne. I asked the next day (we arrived late), and was told they would bring it up. They only brought up one small glass - a bit strange for two people. So I asked again and never got a second glass - by the second time the 'romance' of it had gone anyway. The main employee there on this weekend was sometimes nice, sometimes a bit rude - didn't greet us when we entered once even after I smiled and said hello - not the service expected from a luxury hotel. There was a lady as we checked out who was very nice and apologized for the miscommunication. She was great but we only saw her as checking out. There were quite a few other small issues which aren't a big deal, but aren't expected from a top hotel. The room was really nice, small - but that's expected in an old beautiful building. The location was perfect. I really liked the decor, building, and location. Breakfast was great. The lobby needs a refurb - very old. But it's better to have nice rooms than lobby I suppose. Overall, not bad at all, but not what was expected after reading the raving reviews etc.

Extremely friendly staff, great location and fantastic rooms. Everything was just perfect. Room was amazing and so cozy I didn't want to leave the room. Location was excellent - so close to all the touristy things I like to do. Definitely would stay there again!

I was staying there in the end of february. i am really picky, but this hotel amazed me. i loved everything about it: staff, rooms, food, everyone was nice to me , even though i am young (i’m almost 19 and i had a lot of situations when staff was looking at me like a i was a fool) .the most exciting thing was the atmosphere. the hotel is located in old town riga, there are a lot of beautiful places around hotel. also as a tourist it was a good thing that a big shopping center with cinema and everything is near the hotel.
