Decent hotel on excellent location. Nothing more. Nothing less. Nice breakfast on top floor with good choices. Rooms are clean but dull. But then. It is a common hotel for common people. Nothing wrong. Nothing right, but breakfast.
Stayed only for one night but my impressions of the hotel are quite good. Very central location, polite staff at the reception and restaurant, a clean and spacious room, comfortable bed - nothing to complain about. Breakfast is served on 7th floor, good selection of food and very nice views. Breakfast starts at 7.30 which is rather late and might be a problem for some guests.
I stayed here during August 2019 as a member of a travel group. And in fact only as a member of an organized trip you can stay here!I can`t even imagine to pay and stay here as an independed traveller. This is a hotel with the best location in the city of Riga, just upon the Freedom square. But it is old and dated , with no security at all ( everyone who is at the square can come in and be a trouble for the guests. We had something like this one night returning to the hotel when an obviously drunk person annoyed us INSIDE THE LOBBY OF THE HOTEL!This hotel needs bouncers at once to protect the quests. The staff was totally indifferent , unpolite and rude. We had dinner here , it was just terrible. The breakfast was ok but nothing more. To cut a long story sort , stay away !
I have stayed at this hotel some 20 years ago. To my surprice the hotel was still at very good standard. The room was spacious and the bathroom was renovated and big with a lot of places to stuck your things at. The only draw back for me was the bath tub. For elderly people to climb in and out of the tub is quite hazardious and the tub is often very slippery. The room was very clean and the service good. Breakfast at the top floor is delicious and the view marvellous. Arriving by car is tricky because of lack of parking to unload. Should be arranged! Being in the middle of town the walking distances are very short. Ideal hotel for a weekend stay.
A great modern hotel with breakfast directly in the city centre. Very nice staff, supplied for a number of special requests. The breakfast was good, the room was clean and very nicely decorated and the bed was good. I enjoyed my stay there and will certainly stay again when travelling to Riga.
Modern on the outside but quite stylish on the inside. Spotlessly clean with big corridors. We were upgraded to a suite room on the front. Very large and comfortable with lovely big bathroom. Unfortunately we found it a bit noisy late at night if window was open, but we got used to it and used the earplugs supplied (I am a very light sleeper - husband didn't have a problem). Breakfast was plentiful, if not what we were used to, but good to try local cuisine. Staff were helpful and courteous. Right in the centre of things, we walked everywhere. Lots of restaurants and bars close by. Nice park over the road. Great hotel for a short break.
Location and budget price for a seriously good hotel. Don't let the rude staff get you down. Location is fantastic just a couple mins walk to no.22/322bus for airport and perfect for exploring the old town. Positives it was clean, beds are comfy, rooms are warm (it was -1 when we were here), rooms are well sound proofed as we didn't hear much from other rooms, breakfast is fairly good, coffee was good. Negatives are some members of staff, at check in the woman was unfriendly bordering rude.. a simple smile and trying to be polite creates a much better ambiance than how we were greeted. Breakfast is on the 7th floor and I strongly advise one person stays at the table when you go to get something as we left two full cups of coffee on our table and were away for 30seconds and came back to find our table cleared and somebody else sitting at it. Again the staff are there throughout and its not that hard to see who has gone to get more breakfast or who has left or perhaps thinking a full cup of coffee means somebody is at the table. This happened regularly with us and others when we were there and what better way to start the day than a row. The only other thing is we were on the 4th floor and the shower in the bathroom is elevated off the ground, between one to two feet high.. its a big step out of the shower and even young agile people have a jump down so somebody less agile will have issues with this but maybe its not in all the rooms? A kettle in the room would be great Paddy likes his tea.…
Hotel Roma is located at the intersection of Aspazijas BLVD and Brīvibas BLVD and Kaļku iela. From here you can get to many of Riga's attractions in less than a 10 minute walk. The breakfast buffet on the top floor was included and it was well stocked. The regular rooms were ample, yet the closets did not accommodate hangers without setting them at an angle and you may have to ask for additional blankets if you're cold. Shower was modern.
Very central location. The room was also quite big, and kind of cozy. Bathroom also OK. It is clear that the hotel was not renovated this year, but everything was of decent standard - and the price was nice. The breakfast was good - very standard for any hotel. I will probably stay at this hotel also next time I have things to do in Riga. Recommended.
Very rude, vulgar, unprofessional staff!!! Reception is unbelievable not friendly! When I suggested to be more nice with customers because we want to spend money in this hotel reception boy answered : so far you spent Nothing!
