We were recommended this hotel by friends of our who stayed there before lockdown. For what they said they paid I couldn’t believe it would be that good. How wrong was I This is a fantastic hotel and the decor is very tastefully done. A really special mention for Esmeralda on reception. She was excellent and couldn’t do enough for us. She has all the knowledge of where to go what to see and what to do. Really helpful when you have not been here before. Hotel is situated about 5/0 minute walk from centra of Riga. Breakfast was superb and so much choice. Spa was also luxurious.
Simply the best hotel I have ever stayed in. What you see online is exactly what you get. The staff are very wonderful from checking in you are greeted and treated as family coming home. I can not say enough about how wonderful this place truly is. Central to everything. Truly the best stay I have ever have. I usually do not return to the same place twice I can certainly say I will be back for another visit. Keep up the good work. If ever in Riga do yourself a favour and experience this amazing place.
Reception not really helpfull, no car parking. Location would be ok, but without car parking - allways a need to get the car first. Food overpriced and bad quality; The worst thing is spa - need to book time in advance, if late by 15 min or early - not possible to get in. When u get in - discover not clean spa, water is very cold. Generally - the stay was not pleasant for already few times, therefore decided never come this hotel again.
Fabulous stay! This hotel is beautiful inside and out. The staff are extremely friendly, especially the staff in the spa, they always have a smile for you! Breakfast is superb and probably one of the best we’ve had in any hotel, the Prosecco was a lovely touch. The rooms are beautiful and large with nice finishings. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys a bit of luxury!
I fell in love with the pictures of the hotel and wanted to surprise my mom by taking her to a spring vacation. I could have not chosen better! The location is great nearby everything, but the hotel itself is even better. We really enjoyed the details in the interior. This hotel was poetic more than by name. Beautiful interior continued in the room, too. Luxury marble bathrooms, the beds are firm and sheets are comfy. Coffee making facilities, safety box and bathropes and slippers in the room as expected at this level. Clean and nice. Spa visits and breakfast was included on the pricing when booking directly. At breakfast the variety of food is good and the prosecco adds a nice touch to it. The service was excellent from arrival to leave. We got advice when needed and all our requests upon the stay were totally fulfilled. I will surely come back to Grand Poet next time in Riga.…
Great five star spa hotel. Spacious room the beds are a bit hard. good breakfast. Friendly staff. But don't come here if you plan a relaxing spa weekend. We went there and there were 10 children aged 3 to 10 years old running around making It Impossible to relax and enjoy the place. Too noisy, to crowded. 5 children and one parent jumps Into the small jacuzzi after us.... We just had to leave the whole spa. Being a five star spa hotel that's quite pricy for Riga, one would expect the spa experience to be good. A lower age limit for instance. If parents wants to go swimming with their children, a swimming hall would a great idea. Not a spa hotel with saunas, relaxing areas etc. Hence three stars.
Almost perfect stay in this majestic hotel ideally located in between the old and new town. Front desk efficient. Room large, quiet, well equipped, comfortable and very nicely decorated. Very good. Breakfast very good. Not perfect rating though because we were reluctantly admitted at the bar at 9.45 PM and the waitress obviously wanted to go home and also because the spa, although very nicely equipped, is more like an aqua park: loud, promiscuous, sauna with swimsuit (!) and no resting area. Definitely not a relaxation oasis! A nice stay anyway.
We stayed at this hotel twice while on our vacation to Latvia and Lithuania. 4 days initially and after our visit to Lithuania we returned. It was an amazing stay. Each visit started with a champagne surprise and a very thoughtful card to greet us in our room. We initially stayed in a Superior Twin room for the first four days. I highly recommend this upgrade if you will be here for more than a few days. We finished our last night in a Standard room and it was significantly smaller. The Superior room had a seating area and the bathroom had better toiletry products. The breakfast was quite nice in this hotel. They had vast selection of foods to choose from. Pastries, fruits, smoked salmon, hash browns, baby potatoes, bacon, sausage and of course orange juice and champagne. All Covid rules were maintained by the staff. We also visited their dinner place called the Snob Bar. The food was exceptional. I had an amazing duck salad, scallops and the wine was delicious. We utilized the spa facilities as well. The various saunas and heated seating was lovely after an extensive day of sightseeing. I will say that their jacuzzi was a bit of a disappointment because it was pretty cold and so was the pool. My friend and I both decided to have a massage. The massage that I received was not very good. I kept thinking while she was rubbing me down that it would get better, but it didn't. At 80 euros I left very unsatisfied and not very happy, but you can't win them all. My friend however said that her massage was amazing. I think she said that the name of her masseuse was Ramone, but we were not positive. In any case he was male. So if you have the opportunity to request who you get, make sure it's the guy. I have stayed all over Europe and I would rate this hotel in the very top of my stays! If I were to return to Riga I wouldn't stay anywhere else. I will be recommending this one to all my friends in the future.…
The Hotel has nice rooms and the staff is great. The parkinggarage is not attached to the hotel and you will have to walk there for 5 minutes. The food we had ordered was good and the Spa was great. The location is very good - near the old town.
We arrived at the hotel around noon and greeted by a friendly man on reception. Even though check in wasn't until 2pm, he checked to see if our room was ready early, which it was. This was appreciated as we'd had a long night/morning travelling. We had a standard double room on the 5th floor. The room was spacious, very clean and large, comfortable bed. The bathroom was really nice, along with a shower it also had a very deep bath which was perfect to relax in following long days of walking around exploring the city. The room was also very quiet which ensured a good night's sleep. The breakfast was plentiful, not everything to our taste, but that's personal taste and not a criticism. There was still plenty to eat, you don't walk away feeling hungry. The staff are very quick to clear tables and keep everything clean. The hotel is perfectly located and a very short walk to the old Riga area. The hotel itself overlooks a nice park, which is perfect for an evening stroll after dinner. The staff at this hotel are very friendly, welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Always happy to answer any questions we had regarding Covid restrictions for restaurants, bars, museums etc... so there was no confusion at all. This was our first time in Riga, and certainly won't be our last. We would definitely consider staying at the Grand Poet Hotel on our next visit.…
