I stayed at this hotel for one day before my long flight back home. I had a very relaxing experience, free of any worries, as everything was well-organized: exclusive access to the beach, fantastic breakfast, sea water swimming pool and saunas that were included in the price. Shopping at the apparel, glasses and jewelry boutique stores in the hotel lobby was fun. Overall, it was an amazing stay!

Very nice hotel with discerning guests. If the staff were a little more attentive at breakfast, if the head waiter would perhaps greet his guests and put on a friendly face for once, everything would be perfect. Friendliness and service orientation could be improved, but otherwise the hotel is great and worth a visit. The beach club is very nice. It would be even nicer if the empty glasses and leftover food were collected promptly after consumption before the pigeons greedily pounce on them - not a pretty sight in a 5 star hotel.

I have stayed here for 2 nights to have a break from my small children. The place is great, just right on the beach and if it is summer there are lots of activities on the beach I suppose. Since I have visited at the end of August there was nothing open on the beach as weather was not appropriate. However, I have enjoyed the walk on the beach and the sound of waves. The spa experience was also great I have tried classic, Thai and Ayurvedic massage twice each and would like to highlight that Ayurvedic massage was the best as Indian boy was very good at it and did it very well. Thai massage is usually my favourite but not it this hotel as Thai lady would do one hand and then forget to do another, do one side of the leg but skip another, there was no sequence. I decided to give it another go the next day but it was the same with lady forgetting to massaging one side of the body. I would expect massage to be better especially with the price tag of €79 for an hour this is more than in any 5 star hotel in Europe. Oyster Restaurant was delicious, very pricey though. Oysters were very fresh. Staff were very professional, friendly and polite, they have heaters for those seating in the terrace( not vaccinated). In regards to the breakfast the choice is very limited and I would expect a better breakfast from 5 star hotel, only omelette was offered. If you want a fried egg or poached you have to pay extra for it. Rooms were nicely decorated, modern and spacious enough. Would like to highlight the rude blonde lady who works probably as events manager. I was going to the Oyster restaurant where I will spend over €100 for solo meal and was using stairs to go there where I was rudely approached by this blonde member of staff and asked in a disrespectful manner in Latvian , where do I think I am going? I replied that am going for meal in the restaurant. Instead of nicely explaining that they have an event here today please use other way by going through outside she said to me, I have an event here, go away’. This is not how you speak to the customer who spent over €800 for 2 nights in your hotel. Very unprofessional approach from the lady who thinks she is somebody. Only had time to go to the general spa, it was nice with 3 or 4 saunas, large swimming pool but if you are traveling with small children there is absolutely nothing there for them.

The Baltic Beach Hotel was a nice place, but they have probably picked up an extra star. This hotel is not 5 stars. At 5 stars it should be little to put your finger on and much should be included. In the review on Booking.com it stated that there was a deposit of 100 €, but they took 280 € (70 €/day we learned).
Extra service and food/drinks are expensive at the hotel, despite the fact that the hotel had quite high price for accommodation. A glass of prosecco for 12€. We wanted to check out at 15 rather than at 12. It would cost 80 € extra. Could get an extra hour for free. We asked to use each their own beach bed while we waited for transport back to the airport. It wasn't free. They should have a solid sum for this, for a couple of hours on the beach bed.
Breakfast was decent but not luxurious in any way.
The hotel owned a nice area with a nice beach with plenty of good sunbeds including beach towels. They had and a lovely pool with several saunas included which one could use 2 hours daily upon reservation.
The room had a pretty neat and simple standard. Large room and a little little bathroom where the switch was a bit tight and the door was difficult to close, probably due to moisture damage. There was a lot of sludge in the doors in the hallway when the room doors were slow to close. Feels a little tired somewhere.

All night I hear different noises and clicks and they are not like the light in the next room was turned off but loud and dense. I'm a light sleeper, so tonight I couldn't sleep at all. My husband sleeps very deeply, so he started hearing this noise and clicks when the sleep was not so deep anymore. This room is not worthy of the name of standard, more like an economy room because of the discomfort I had to hear all night. The SPA has caught up with the times, the showers start at the push of a button, but do not stop automatically. The staff is polite and friendly. In general, this hotel does not meet the conditions of 5 stars, too retro and tired. The only thing that attracts tourists here is the location of the hotel.

This hotel has the potential to be amazing however it’s not worthy of 5 stars at present. Good points - Beachfront location and within walking distance to the main town area with shops, bars and restaurants. Excellent breakfast with lots of options Great burgers and cocktails at the beach bar Spacious room with a huge comfortable bed. Gym was very good. Negative points - The service was very hit and miss some staff couldn’t do enough for you, others had no idea what they were doing. We went for a meal in the Italian restaurant and it was the worst service we have ever experienced. The curtains in our room were hanging off the poles meaning they wouldn’t close properly. Two people we were travelling with complained as their rooms were too small to even fit their cases in. The spa is more like a leisure centre than a spa, not relaxing at all, has broken sun beds etc. We ordered room service for lunch one day and it was very sub standard, likewise the Italian meal was sub standard. Compared to other 5 star hotels we have stayed in this does not hit the mark especially for the price you pay to stay here. They need to get the basics right before introducing things such as pillow menus.

This Hotel is not 5 * hotel for people who are travelling in Europe.
1)Breakfast, Horrible. Please take your cook for vacation to see how abroad breakfast is cooked. Eggs, sorry, it was disaster. Bacon, i had impression it wasnt even cooked at all. Quality of Products offered for breakfast. Please dont buy the somewhere cheap, get proper Latvian farmer stuff, which is with taste, not water culture.
2) Multiple times i reminded staff to organise us transfer with baby seat mentioning that baby is still small. No seat was provided 2 times. I am sorry but it is unacceptable. Safety? Not for Latvians i guess.
3)Birthday surprise for my husband. Was it really so difficult to prepare it and deliver with breakfast in the room. I booked this surprise in advance and only after reminding it to the Reception on afternoon i got some bottle and half dry fruits on the plate. I am so sorry, it was for the bin and not for eating. Clearly some breakfast leftover. You cant do that to the Hotel guests.
4)Cleaniness in the Hotel room. Our white clothes fell on the floor next to the closet and they were with black oil stains. What on Earth are you doing with those closets? Why Oil? We had small baby crawling there with black hands eating it. The glass fell on the balcony. I tried to call Room service to ask someone to clean it. No phone was picked up. After putting sign, please clean the Room, Glass wasnt properly cleaned up and smaller and bigger pieces were still on the balcony. WE HAD SMALL BABY IN THE ROOM!!!!!
And i could continue, but it is not worth it. Please DO NOT visit this place.

When we arrived at the designated check-in time the room was not ready. Wouldn’t have been a big deal if the inconveniences ended there. The room we got was tidied messily (drawers open, name on the greeting card was wrong) and the bathroom smelled AWFUL. After bringing this to the staffs attention they did nothing, after we did so again they sent a cleaning lady who cleaned the bathroom again (it helped for like 2 hours). The next day our room card deactivated and after we asked to activate it again the lady at the reception did so, it still didn’t work (this time both of them didn’t work) so we had to ask for the second time. They did not seem apologetic about either the bathroom situation nor the deactivated cards. Most awfully the AC in the room did not work at all. The temperature must’ve been at least 28 degrees celsius. Given that we expected a 5 star hotel…

It's not a 5 star hotel. 5 star hotels are all about personalized, tailored experiences in a high class accomodation. Having a gym, a spa, guest relations desk, and a bell boy don't cut it anymore today. In regards to the breakfast: No live cook at breakfast, stale buns and waffles, watered down Orange juice, and untrained staff is something I can get in a 3 or 4 star hotel. In regards to room: spacious yes, but chairs and floor carpet have stains, TV is small, toilet has no sink, tiling is from the 90ties, and air condition does seem to react to user input. In regards to hotel architecture: I guess one call it "organically grown" (like the Frankfurt airport). One has to walk in bathing robe through tge conference center and the main lobby to get to the spa. A bit odd but not a drama. In regards to service quality, my experience with the guest relation manager summarizes it well: the guest relationship manager preferred to challenge me in a comparison of other 5 star hotels in Latvia where things wouldn't be better either instead of simply swallowing her pride, acknowledge the issues, and to promise to look into it. I guess 5 stars in Latvia are 4 stars anywhere else. I wonder what the Kempinski in Riga thinks of that.

Guys, be very careful with this hotel. It’s like you go with time machine 30 years ago. We reserved 4 classic rooms for two nights on Christmas Eve, paid a solid sum, asked for rooms on the upper floor, I spoke to the reservation office to asure, and when we came, we got rooms on the lowest floor, somewhere dark and far away. And when we asked to change, they found no solution. And be sure to get a trip insurance with this hotel. If you get sick, even with Covid, they dont care and dont change the dates. Either you come anyway and spread the disease to everybody, either you loose all the money paid if you dont have the insuranse. This hotel neither cares about you, neither about other guests, just about the money. The hotel can sparkle from the outside, but its system and working methods are as old as they were 30 years ago. For guests relations-an absolute 0. Guys, be very careful and assure every detail if you go.
