The SPA Hotel Pegasa Pils is situated in the very centre of the pearl of the Baltic Sea – the Seaside City Jurmala, next to the pedestrian street, Jomas Street, 20 m from the Concert Hall Dzintari and only 50 metres from a sand beach of the Gulf of Riga. Majestic building Lit 1 (business rooms, restaurant, conferece halls) constructed in 1900 is the architectural monument of historical significance for Jurmala of late Art nouveau. The building was re-constructed in 2002 based on the ideas of the architect in harmony with the style of the previous cenury. Building Lit 2 ( standard rooms, SPA, lobby bar) anew constructed in 2005 is prominent creation in early ugendstile. Already in the beginning of the twentieth century it was the recreation centre for Jurmala visitors and took over its unique style and mission of hospitability to our century.

Firstly, if you are going to stay at this hotel, you and all your travel buddies must to have their ID or passport, because the hotel staff is making copies. However, the staff was nice and helpful. Hotel has a free parking so you do not have to care where to leave your car.
Secondly, what really disappointed us was a room. We have been taken a suite in a tower. It is the most expensive room they have. Behind the sofa we have found a used shower cap, that means the staff is not really careful with cleanness of the room. Also our room had a doors to the other room. The doors were locked, but we clearly could hear what people were talking behind. The most hilarious thing was that Tv was hanged in the corner of the room from which you are not able watch it if you lying on a bed or sitting on a sofa.
Thirdly, we do not recommend you to buy a private spa time. The private spa place had a bad smell because it is underground and has a bad ventilation. Jakuzzi was so dirty that you could easily feel sand below your feets and oily walls around you. Also glasses of wine were left from the day before. A steam bath and a shower had a strong smell of a fish. Only sauna was in a good condition.
What we do like was a breakfast. It had omlet, bacon, pancakes and etc. It was tasty and fresh.
All things considered we do not recommend this hotel if you are demanding for cleanliness, because all furniture are old and already dirty. The relation between the price and the quality is also bad.

Rooms are very comfortable, big. There is fridge, TV in the room. The wardrobe is pretty big. In the bathroom they give you shower cap and shampoo bottles. Breakfast not very big, but still there are some variety. Also you can order lunch or dinner

Nicely located hotel and charming old building. Visited 11-13 Sept 2024, likely the commencement of the down-season and not all advertised facilities were available (Salt Cave/Spa), even discouraged by reception from using the jacuzzi as it would require them to heat it up...

Double bed was really just 2 single beds placed together, with 2 single duvets placed side-by-side, breakfast so-so.

The place is like from the Planet of the Apes. We made a reservation for one night four days in advance. When we arrived to the hotel, we were told that there is no reservation and no rooms available. It didn't make any difference when we showed the 'Reservation Confirmation' -email that was sent from their own 'SPA hotel Pegasa Pils'-account. The rude lady at the reception kept repeating 'not our problem, don't have reservation, I'm no technical person, no rooms' in bad english. We were given a room only after shouting half an hour and making threats to the hotel manager - not the room we had reserved, but possibly someone else's room. A couple days after I received a 'Changed reservation confirmation' from their system. So they lied to us about not having our reservation.

I cannot recommend this hotel. The look is shabby and the staff rude. Not a four star place.

The breakfast is just a joke and the parking lot is really expensive, even though free parking was promised.

This hotel lies on its website that parking is free. Parking costs 24 euros per day, although you can get a small discount. Our one search condition for the hotel was free parking, but it is not fulfilled in this hotel.

Booked an offer "Romantic Jurmala" which included a visit to the bath complex and an evening in a restaurant. As a result: the jacuzzi did not work (you could only go to the sauna and take a shower). The restaurant was closed for a special service - a wedding. When we asked why you didn't notify us about the problems, the answer was - we are not obliged to notify. Our weekend was ruined. They even didn't return the full amount of money. Terrible.

I didn’t like it, it was dirty, dusty, the curtains were dirty, the furniture was old, you could break your neck on the threshold with the balcony, it was very slippery, bottles/glasses were from former visitors. And this is a superior room. mango pieces - 16 euros.

The hotel is old, definetely not 4 stars. Room beds uncomfartable. It was cold when arrived. Radiators crackled all the night. Breakfast terrible. No swedish style. You have to order from meniu. Spa zone was cold, water in jacuzzi cold also.
Good things: near sea and parking.

We just arrived from a vacation to Latvia, and on we had booked three days to stay in this hotel on our trip to Latvia.

On the net, it looked very good, but the room we were given was very small and had wires handing off the wall. In the toilet, the shower drain was exposed and the bowl had black grit inside. We asked for another bigger room, and they were happy to "upgrade" us to another room provided we pay extra. This room is much better, but the toilet door will not shut until we kicked it really hard. Since it was late and we had paid to stay in this hotel, we stayed.

The next day coming back in the afternoon, we found that the room was not cleaned properly and toilet was not cleaned at all. Infact, the loo-roll had run out. We were getting fed up now, so we asked to cut our stay to 2 days so that we can spend the 3rd day in a better hotel. Although we gave them more than 1 day of notice, they will not give us a refund. After several meeting with the management and promises of sorting everything out, we were shown (the first time) the "rules" of the hotel, which states that you have to give 3 days written notice to cancel any booking to get refund.

We were not going to get the inconsiderate management of this hotel to ruin our vacation, so we moved anyway and found a much better hotel which was infact cheaper than this hotel. It was such a hassle and was the last thing we wanted on a great vacation. There a lot of better places to say I do not recommend anyone to book here.
