Stayed overnight at the Mark Rothko Resid ences in Daugavpils. Accomodations were very good. Clean, quiet rooms with comfortsble beds. Next to the museum. Free tickets were provided for the museum. An excellent restaurant was located Next to the museum with a wide selection of meals available. Would recommend. Only suggestion for the future would be to improve on ventilation in the Residences.

My room was fairly small with no real desk, small table but not a desk. Also no bedside table or drawers next to bed - thought that was a little odd. Bed was OK but sheet didn’t fit. Hard to open the window due to height. Bathroom fine, good shower. Breakfast is served in the art centres cafe, again very average. Had to ask if we could get something cooked, just cold fare left out and no menu in sight. Disappointingly the bar closes at 2200, again in the cafe. Didn’t get back to hotel until 2145 and staff were rather grumpy and initially refused to serve me, they did when I pointed out the time. Very handy for the art center I guess, apart from that, rather average.

Interesting location. Unfortunately, there is no signs with information of where is the reception (which is in the museum). So when we arrived, had to walk around from door to door while I found the right ones. Loved the room, much more different from other hotels, with all the necessary amenities.There is free Wi-Fi , but the connection is not strong enough so it keeps dropping. There is a separate kitchen area in the hall, so you can store and prep food. This is especially useful as breakfast is not included, but the nearby café opens at 11 am.

This art centre is situated in Daugavpils fortifications. The fans of Mark Rothko's art made it like a memorable place. Very contemporary. Thanks. We had a lot of information about this artist and Daugavpils history.

That is a artistic and overall cozy place, expect the sound isolation. It was super bad. If there is someone sleeping in the next room then you can hear almost every noise from it. Otherwise, stuff was really friendly and also it is pretty cool feeling to sleep in the fortress.

Nice, comfortable rooms with extraordinary arcade ceiling, free wifi in rooms. Opportunity to see exhibitions of Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre and Mark Rothko's paintings. Located in Daugavpils Fortress, great area to walk and see historic sights. Restaurant in the same building.
