I think there is also several other nice possibilities to spend a night(s) in this quite nice Town, actually. There´s that obscure ´fragrance´ of a certain more or less ´slavish touch´ in the air in this corner of Europe of which I like ´mi manera´, but with N-O political connotations. Location of the Hotel "Duets" which is about 1,5-2 kms from the Centrum reminded me from the childhood when our family once lived near the Railways. There´s something nostalgic in that and I wasn´t disturbed about the noises - those public announcements from the loudspeakers by strange language in the evening lights.... In fact, it was rather nice to WALK back into the Hotel in the evening after a nice Italian or - if you prefer for example a Georgian meal. Without trying to paint too romantic picture here about the conditions there, I have to honestly say that I have only rarely - if ever- spent few nights in such a Nice Hotel with so economical price. And this view holds, subjectively. Room big enough for one person, nice wooden furnitures for the different items and clothes, dimming lights, colour -TV with remote control, refrigerator, remote-controlled air-cooler, renewed window-frames with no wind coming in unless one wants to -easily openable, bathroom like a new shining clean with a shower, papers, soaps, towels and some sort of hygienic paper if I remember correctly. Suburbian countryside neighbourhood view from the wood. What more I could hope, I mean reasonably? Anyway, Restaurant in the downstairs - through the fireplace-room - where the breakfast was served (included). I think also meals are available, though I for some reason ate mostly at the Town restaurants. I should have eat at the Hotel too - perhaps it had something to do with lot of walking, spending time every here and there plus certain ´timing´ of doing some things (like eating, for example). In the underground floor there´s infrared- sauna with about 10 euros/hour - interesting, but in some cases it might need little bit of ´adjusting´, depending who´s in charge in turn. But that´s human! And, all this was -believe it or not - in August for about 20 euros per night (below 25) for one person in a single room (large enough, big bed, tables, reading-lamps etc.). So I wasn´t sure should I laugh or cry for the extremely good price/quality-relation! Please notice that this is J-U-S-T my view, subjectively.

This hotel is not in the city centre, but not far from it (perhaps 10-15 minutes walk). It is located in a new building. I'd stay there again but had some minor issues, read on!
I stayed in a lux/business class double bedroom which was spacious and nicely decorated in a Northern European style. Despite the hotel being full, I was not disturbed by other guests. The bed was very, very wide. Breakfast was basic Northern European; bread, veg, meat, cheeze, fried egg, cereal, juice and coffee. Bathroom with shower. They can probably make porridge etc if you ask. The staff was extremely pleasant, friendly and helpful. They speak mainly Russian and Latvian but enough English that international customers can can be accommodated. Free Wifi works fine.

I had some minor issues that I would like to warn other travellers about: Firstly, you will not be able to sleep with the windows open because there are announcements on some nearby rail depot throughout the night. You will also be able to feel the sensation as heavy goods trains pass on the railway line nearby, the floor is ever so slightly vibrating. This did not disturb me while I was sleeping though. Although there was an air conditioning unit mounted to the wall but I was not able to understand how to operate it with the remote control. If you want to use this, ask the staff before you are already in bed. No lift, but you will get help carrying heavy luggage up the stairs. Sheet not large enough for the truly massive bed in my room - the sheets were all over the place in the morning. I'd stay there again despite these minor issues and I recommend the hotel.

Very underrated Hotel. Located close to the City center, very clean (even for my wife who is perfectionist!) Tasty and generous breakfast, comfy bed, nice small well kept garden at the hotel grounds gives you the impression your money was not spent in vain. If we need a hotel next time - for sure we will return there! And by the way - before we explored all their good amenities we found out this place was the cheapest one. Cheap in point of view of money but not cheap in point of view of Service! We would like to wish this business unlimited success for future.
P.S. In our case there was no noise from the railway nearby. We slepr perfectly.

I recently got the opportunity to stay at this place and my experience was awesome. It is a perfect place to relax. Rooms are clean and spacious. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Food is very delicious and every meal had a great variety. Breakfast was delightful every morning. Facilities are good and we enjoyed a lot there. I was in the city to prepare a cover story and was happy to book this cool accommodation, where I can concentrate on my work. I would highly recommend staying here.

Although located in an industrial neighborhood and close to railways (trains pass close, but, in my view, it does not disturb at all), it is quite close to the centre, i.e. Rigas Street (just a "jump" over railway - there is a passage to walk, it takes appx 15 minutes, it is also easy to get from transit roads and to the area where a group of churches (monuments) is located. Polish centre of culture (Dom Polski) on walking distance.
The entire small block of flats is converted into small and cosy hotel, with internal courtyard for parking (surveilled) and small green space. Breakfast is served every morning - no big choice but sufficient. Prices are very reasonable. The rooms are clean and warm, there is a shower in the bathroom and in some romms additional space work work (a desk). Probably wifi works, as I saw the signal on my iPad but forgot to ask for password and had not test it. The area is a little neglected but quiet and safe.

One night stay, first time visiting the area so not too familiar with it. The hotel seemed a bit out of town, but I was Ok as had a hire car, so can’t comment on how well it is located. The hotel is very affordable and the room is good. The bed is a bit old! Large clean bathroom with shower. Breakfast was Ok, enough to get you started ie cereal, juice, toast, coffee, eggs. Not a bad place to stay for the budget traveler.

It's a lovely place to spend a night(max 2) in Daugavpils. Rooms are basic but large. There is no hair dryer in room but you could get it from reception. Nice clean washrooms, I loved the idea of using paper towels - so hygienic!
Breakfast was nice, the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. As a bonus you get a big garden and free parking space. If you are looking for a place to stay overnight - it is an ideal one!

Well, this is not a kind of state-of-art place. Hotel is small, cheap and good enough if you want to stay for a night or two. Interior is something like 90s, and there are big projection TV set which is a rarity nowadays on the first floor...
Rooms are decent but not perfectly clean.
Hotel personnel does not clean up rooms every day. It may cause inconveniences if you plan to stay there for a longer period.
Vicinity of the railways was not a real problem as I almost haven`t heard trains.
Good points are that personnel is very friendly and responsive and brekfast is included.

Simple, clean rooms. Extra large bed (one night child (6 years) slept with us - we don't feel each other). Large pillows, for me to large - I slept on the decorative pillows.
Simple breakfast. I would recommend small changes each morning, otherwise, if you stay there more than one night (we stayed two nights) - very tedious to eat the same every morning.
Good for children - there is a collared courtyard and small public playground behind the fence.

Stayed here two non consequtive nights. The rooms are very big with nice beds and clean bathrooms.

Staff is very friendly. Second visit we told them how we Would like our eggs, they really put effort to meet all our expectations, which they did. That breakfast was superb.

Close to convenience store.

Minuses include - close proximity to railway station with "soviet style" announcement all night. This is nostalgic for some, a nuisance for others (the former for Yours Truly).

Best value for money.

Great free parking.
