Me and my family stayed in Hansa hotel in December as we were invited to the event that took place next door. For sightseeing Tartu, it's a bit off the centre. The room was interesting-looking and huge, there is a "Hunting lodge/Western"-type theme going on throughout the hotel. It was a bit cold in the beginning but after couple of hours the room fortunately warmed up nicely. Otherwise it was clean and we got a baby cot in the room free of charge. The breakfast was good but we really missed something sweet with our coffee. Pancakes, pastries, anything, even bread and jam would have been fine but they did not have anything that morning. So all in all an average experience - nothing to complain about too much but nothing to praise about either.

Very nice place to stay. We stayed with children and they got a separated sleeping place in a sofa. Room was very large and had a kitchen korner. Tv played German cartoons and Russian chanels. Room had a separate entrance from the lobby. Breakfast was excelent. Great location. Near Aha centre and spa.

The style of this hotel is rather like an old hunting house, not really like an old Hansa medieval period, despite the name. It's full of very neat antique stuff from local household, which gives an impression of spending a night in a museum. However the rooms are very cozy and have everything you'd need for a comfortable stay, except for a fridge(( A lot of wood in the room, which makes it feel nice and cozy. The bed was perfect - wonderful sleep. The bathroom is rather small yet comfortable. The full-scale restaruant offers a nice and plentiful breakfast with decent choices. Once again - the design of the restaurant is very attractive if you're into historic/antique atmosphere. If we weren't staying in the hotel, it could as well be our choice for a dinner. The hotel is nicely located in a walking distance from the old town and at the same time offers free parking and saves you maneuvering through small streets of the old town. The only disappointment was stuffed animals all over the place. It would really be an animal rights activist nightmare!

Location is a little bland next to a busy road and a Ford garage. It's a 20 min walk into the centre though so quite convenient if lacking in charm. Our room was very small and hot, probably their basic rooms. There was a small fan but it wasn't very effective. Bathroom and shower were good. The breakfast buffet is served in a lovely courtyard with a fountain or the dining hall and is quite good with a reasonable variety. The stuffed animals dotted around the place gave the hotel a quirky nature. There's also a sauna which we didn't use.

My partner and I stayed at Hansa Tall for a weekend, hoping to enjoy something out of the ordinary with the Medieval decor. The experience was a big disappointment though - the decor is so fake it just looked sad, starting from brick imitation on the facade..the "stones" are actually just painted on the building lol - our room smelled of dampness and mold - NO ventilation whatsoever in the bathroom! (not sure how this is even compliant with EU regulations) - no air con in the room so the combination of no ventilation in the bathroom + 29 degrees outside equalled to a climate similar to a rain forest in the hotel room - I just got home and realised I got an Athlete's foot from that nasty bathroom!! Never staying there again there are much better hotel options available in Tartu
