On arrival, Olga the tired looking receptionist barely had enough enegy to complete her sentences. We were told breakfast between 7 and 11 which later turned out to our detriment to be from 7-10am, the day we arrived was 8 to 11 as national holiday. We missed breakfast by 30 mins due to the confusion. No inch of compromise even after complaining. 23 euros out of pocket for having to with another restaurant. Seems Olga was confused through tiredness. The hotel has no elevator, bathroom no air as it stank. The air con air filter in the bathroom did not work. The water pressure was like a lottery. One of the fire exits we tried to leave through was actually locked. The staff who were awake were rude and unhelpful. No way is this a 4 star hotel. There must have been so. E kick backs for that. Maybe in the 1970s it would have scrapped 3 star. This is a modest 2 star am afraid. Enough said.

We got a room in the attic and it was very unpleasant, the shower room can fit only short person, it wasn’t very tidy and the smell was unpleasant, room didn’t have wardrobe or second side table, curtain holder was broken. The access to the room was very challenging. We had issues with water for both days we stayed. Staff wasn’t pleasant and advised us wrongly on the breakfast timing, so we came too late and no one would serve us breakfast. I wouldn’t stay in this hotel again.

The hotel is at the heart of the old city. The personnel is very polite and speaks English and Russian. My room was in the yard and unfortunately I was able to hear everything that happens in the neighboring room.

We got this dark room in the very back of the house, no window (!), no airconditioning. Bad matresses, and a bed that appeared so unstable we hardly dared to move. The bathroom smelled moldy and a fan or way of letting the humid air out was nowhere to be seen in there. Way overprized with 80€/ night. The wireless did not work. Never again!

This is a weird rabbit warren of place. Its location is excellent- at the heart of the old city. However, it is a amalgamation of old buildings linked by small staircases and passage ways. It is very hard to navigate. Some of the rooms are very odd, for example facing onto courtyards which are main routes through the hotel Mine had a rather more bed than fitted in the room. Breakfast wasn't brilliant, but better than I had expected from reviews here. This is not a hotel for anyone who is not fully fit- able to climb stairs and carry their own bag on stairs- or doesn't have a good sense of direction.
