Hotel Telegraaf is often celebrated for its enchanting atmosphere that marries historical allure with modern luxury. Nestled in the heart of Tallinn, the hotel’s prime location makes it a favorite for exploring the Old Town. Guests commend the spacious and stylish rooms, though a few have encountered cleaning issues.
The service receives commendations for its friendliness, despite occasional slow responses. While the cleanliness generally garners positive remarks, opinions on value are divided, with some questioning the breakfast and parking charges. Detailed Reviews
A great hotel that mixed the old world charm with modern conveniences. Excellent location in the old town.
Old word: classic services from the staff. Interesting decoration using old phone and the alarm clock with the striking hammer.
Conveniences: bedding and linen. Marble shower and new fixtures.
Best idea: my room has two doors. One for entrance, the other door for services. The service door is connected to the closet so you just put your laundry and shoes to be shine in its cubicles and ring the button. The butler came to retrieve/return your items with no disturbance.
Breakfast is buffet and cook to order. Quality is great.
Will definitely return when I’m in Tallinn next time.

Beautiful and elegant hotel in the heart of Tallinn old town. Lovely staff, especially the lady in the reception ( head congierce ) was very professional and kind. We usually stay at The Hilton when in Tallinn but this time Telegraaf had a better location for the purpose of our visit. The 1st room we got was on the 6th floor, bathroom had some soap stains and empty diffuser bottle. We got lovely upgrade for a larger room but the bathroom was unclean: there were long black hairs around the toilet and wall, also some red stains. The lovely receptionist was very apologetic and
offered to change the room again. We declined was we had busy schedule before going to an event and asked for cleaning. Hairs around toilet seat were removed but remained on the wall with red stains. The Marriott website states hotel has evening turn down service. When we returned from the event around 1 am turn down was done. I can live with that and open my own bed, but unclean bathroom is unacceptable in a 5 - star hotel. Especially times like this ( post COVID-19 ) clean environment is crucial. I felt slightly uncomfortable to sleep in the bed thinking how how are the hygienic standards in the hotel based on the condition of the bathroom...
Breakfast staff was brilliant and althought the selection was modest all was fresh and tasty. It is a shame that some guests were dressed for the breakfast as they would be going to the beach, flip flops and shorts are not suitable for a breakfast in a 5 star city hotel.
Once again big thank you for Ms. Valing in the reception trying to solve the unfortunate experience into positive one.
I expect the hotel management to address the housekeeping issues .

Dear Teemu, Thank you for taking the time to share your honest feedback! Maintaining a clean atmosphere within our guest rooms and common areas is always a key priority, especially during these unprecedented times. On behalf of the entire team at the Hotel Telegraaf, Autograph Collection, I sincerely apologize for falling short of not only meeting your expectations but ours as well. Rest assured, the feedback provided will be shared with the appropriate hotel team to ensure we consistently deliver upon guest expectations. Due to the current situation, we provide turndown services only upon request. This is to limit person-to-person contact and for the safety of our associates and guests. We are truly appreciative of your feedback and will take this as an opportunity to better our services so our guests feel safe at our hotels. We assure you all the points will be addressed and improved on. Wishing you all the best during these uncertain times, Eliise Allingu Front Office Manager Hotel Telegraaf

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveler reviews.
We had a suite for 3 nights on the 6th floor. The suite was huge with a very large lounge/dining area as well as bathroom (with bath, separate shower and sauna), separate toilet and bedroom with queen sized bed. The under floor heating in the bathroom was wonderful. This was the quietest hotel room I have ever stayed in - no noise from doors slamming or other guests.
Our only moan would be breakfast, particularly the service. As they led you to your table they gave you a menu, but only once out of three mornings did they bother to come back to ask if we wanted anything from it. Also, they assume you want yourcoffee black, even if you ask for white coffee, so we had to ask for milk more than once and the coffee was not hot enough. Choice of cereal was also very poor.

When in Tallinn the most charming area to stay is the famous old town with its historic small streets and centuries old buildings and castles.
In the heart of this amazing area, in an ideal location you will also find Talinn’s best hotel ,the famous Telegraff hotel where I chose to stay.
This charming small 5 star hotel has spacious comfortable rooms with excellent beds and beddings and luxury amenities in the bathrooms.
Despite its central location the rooms remain calm and quiet even with open windows.
The breakfast was served in the hotel’s star redtarant Tchaikovsky Restarant and in it’s beautiful patio full of flowers.
The hotel has also nice bar and excellent spa with swimming pool? jakuzi and mixed steam and dry saunas.
The staff are excellent in all levels. All speaking English. Helpful, charming and good looking.
Outside the hotel are many Restarants, cafes and Shops for strolling around.
I fully recomend this excellent hotel for Both Bizness and pleasure.

To start, I want to say something positive. The location is great, the hotel is beautiful and the SPA and breakfast staff were wonderful and welcoming. The food was also really good and for that, i probably will visit Tchaikovski restaurant again.
Spa deserves double mentioning because we really liked its privacy and spa treatments were really enjoyable.
However, not everything went so smoothly.
We wanted to book one of their special packages and our process started on Sunday. We have never ever had to make so many calls, mails, etc. so we could book a day in a hotel. So after 5 calls, 2 mails and 2 days finally one lovely staff member said that now everything is alright and we can come.
I don't know was it a language barrier but the receptionist was like a store clerk who just asked for information and finalized the payment transaction. No questions like have we already booked dinner, information where breakfast will be or do we know where is spa. Also, the welcoming treats were delivered after 2 plus hours (after I called to reception about them). Check-out was a similar experience.
I don't know why we were treated so poorly - we paid over 400eur for that day but most of the staff acted like we were a burden to them.

+ Location in the old town of Tallinn
+ „Tchaikovsky“ fine dining restaurant on site
Special praise and gratitude to the whole Restaurant Tchaikovsky team (dinner), Risto (bar), Maxim (Concierge) and Mrs. Kaup (General Manager).
I have stayed at various 4* and 5* hotels in Tallinn. Considering location, restaurant, service attitude and choice of room types, for me - the Telegraaf is currently the best option for a 5* in Tallinn and I will definitely book again.

I got upgrade to a corner suite coz I am a titanium member with suite upgrade coupon.
This is one of most beautiful suite I have stayed Before among Marriott's hotel. It is special coz it has a service cabinet which u can put your laundry or food order into your room without your need to open the door (since it is a secret cabinet beside your room's front door). And they have also a pillow menu from which u can choose from 5 different variety of pillow. Some thing may disappoint you is they don't have executive lounge and in-hotel gym room. But they have spa and swimming pool.

Liked: the location, the rooms - superb mixture of old and modern, stylish and comfortable, great panoramic views from the room; have their own small parking and valet parking service (albeit not always available). The breakfast was a bit packed, yet delicious and great choice of food - both on buffet and a la carte. We weren't able to book their restaurant for the dinner, but reception did recommended a near by place which was Ok. The bed was plush and comfy, we had a wonderful sleep.
Overall - a truly heart warm place with boutique feeling and very comfortable to stay.

We had a very nice, clean room and the staff was very friendly. The Spa is nice and the location is perfect - right in the center of the old town of Tallinn. There were parking spaces in the backyard. Breakfast is too expensive, but if you like it you will get bubbly drinks...

A perfect location for exploring Tallinn.
Everything is perfectly walkable and right at your door step. To note - taxis do not drop you off at the door and you do need to walk about one block to the hotel with your bags.
Our room was on the top floor and was very quiet and comfortable (unless you opened your window in the morning as you can hear the neighbouring school children yelling and playing).
The bathroom was a little tight, but everything was clean and comfortable.
Service was good but we felt the breakfast cost did could not be justified (as we are light eaters in the morning). We thought it was a nice touch to have a pillow menu for the ultimate sleep.

Response from Eliise Allingu, Guest Services / Front Office at Hotel Telegraaf
Responded Dec 4, 2023
Dear MeganMunro, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at Hotel Telegraaf. We are delighted to hear that our central location in Tallinn's Old Town provided you with an ideal base for exploring the city's charm. We recognize that while traditional taxis arrive directly at our hotel entrance, there is a tendency for Bolt drivers to stop a short distance away, despite being able to reach the hotel as well. We appreciate your flexibility in this matter and hope that this did not significantly inconvenience you. It's wonderful to know that your top-floor room offered the quiet and comfort you desired, and we apologize if the morning sounds from the nearby school disturbed your peace. We aim to provide a serene environment for all our guests, and your feedback is invaluable in achieving this. We understand your comments regarding the bathroom's size and are pleased that the cleanliness and overall comfort met your expectations. Your note on the breakfast cost is duly noted, especially for guests with lighter appetites. We are constantly looking for ways to enhance our offerings and will certainly consider your suggestion. Lastly, we're thrilled that the pillow menu added a special touch to your stay, contributing to a restful sleep experience. Thank you once again for choosing Hotel Telegraaf. We look forward to welcoming you back and continually improving your experience with us. Warm regards, Eliise Allingu Front Office Manager Hotel Telegraaf
