The four-star hotel with the most exclusive location in the centre of Tallinn will adapt even more flexibly to the wishes and needs of its guests after the renovation course. Following the renovation, the hotel has on its 10 floors a total of 324 rooms in different categories – classic double rooms, spacious family rooms, elegant de luxe rooms and presentable suites. All rooms are decorated in a modern style which suits a hotel in the heart of the city. The interior design of the hotel is based on seemingly contradictory keywords – the heart of the city and closeness to nature, technical development and naturalness, speed and calmly lingering time.

After renovation we expected hotel to be very good, but it is still average. Basic room is so small it is difficult to fit there with two people and suitcases. Bed is too soft and also pillows, no extra pillows in room. Air conditioner is so loud i have to use ear plugs. Cleaning is not so good, toilet smelling and during three days we were without shower gel, empty bottles but luckily we can wash ourself with shampoo. Breakfast was basic but warm foods was not warm, it was cold, not so nice, i informed personnel about that. Location is perfect but location is not all, you can do it much better. New lobby is very beautiful.

We stayed here with kids and the room was neat, fresh and spacious. The 10th floor provided a calm environment and worked well for us. The reception service was average and not particularly memorable. The overall facilities are fresh and sleek after the renovation. Unfortunately the breakfast did not really live up to the expectations. The offering was pretty standard but the details were missing - bacon not well fried, no freshly baked bread (mainly toast and some stuff directly from a grocery store shelve), no smoothies or other little ”extra luxury” which could be expected from a 4-star hotel. All hand desinfection pump bottles were empty and nothing got refilled even after asking the staff. The buffet table areas were dirty with stains and that little extra feeling of freshness just wasn’t there. For a 3-star facility it would’ve probably been just okay. So overall pretty much an average hotel experience which looks better than what it is.

Our first impressions were not very positive because there was construction going on outside the hotel. The whole road as well as the roads surrounding the hotel were ripped off for pile fittings. For this reason the access to the hotel was restricted and we had to drag our bags onto the gravel. The hotel does not have bell boys to assist guests with their luggage so it was a rather tiring experience to get to its entrance especially for the more elderly companions. As far as I am concerned the hotel should have taken the necessary steps to assist its guests upon arrival considering the public works. Even a wooden walkway would have been enough and we wouldn’t have to drag and damage our luggage on the dirt road. The rooms were quite small and the beds were very very soft and high from the ground. The bathroom was also small and the towels guess what! Small as well. The only thing they provided guests with was ear plugs in order to deal with the noise from the road. The breakfast area was nice and the breakfast itself very very good. There were plenty of choices to satisfy most people’s needs. The placement of the hotel was fairly close to the historical center which can be reached on foot. The surrounding area has some good choices for food and drinks and there was even a convenience store opposite. Some complimentary water would have been a nice addition to the service.

Expected 5 Star experience and service. What I received was something like 2 Star treatment. Major street construction going on outside the hotel. Cab driver could only get as close as a couple of blocks away due to the construction. He pointed toward a large building and said walk that way.
When I checked in I asked the desk person if someone could help give me directions to somewhere close where I could mail a package. She answered "no there is no one hear who can help you." I asked again as I could not believe her answer. Again she repeated her first answer. I asked if they had a conscierge desk or a phone number where I could call to get some assistance. Again she said no we don't have such a thing. I heard jackhammers going on outside in the street till after 6 pm from my room. My room had a great view of all the noise and construction going on outside. I would have appreciated it if I had been given a room facing away from the construction. I noticed in my room that the floor planks had gaps in them as they must be drying out from the recent remodel. Also I found out the hard way that room service had failed to restock the bathroom with toilet paper and wash cloths. Had to call to have someone bring them to my room.
Breakfast buffet was OK not too many choices and very crowded ... had to wait a bit to find an open table. For the $$$ spent I would recommend staying somewhere else.

Pathetic hotel … please don’t book ! They don’t like to clean rooms and will not provide any service … book only if you like to live in a room which will not be cleaned, nor will they provide any towels or clean sheets - horrible staff, horrible location and horrible access to the hotel due to construction. Avoid especially if travelling with kids. I will give it zero star if that was an option - absolutely a rip off.

This hotel opened last autumn after a complete renovation. Now it is a stylish city hotel, centrally located next to Viru Center.

There came an affordable package offer where two nights in the best Sauna Suite and the ferry tickets were together 384 euros. If bought separately, the ferry tickets would have been 4 x 25 euros and the Sauna Suite 2 x 246 euros (Club One offer) or 2 x 294 euros (normal flexible rate including breakfast). Now we paid only 142 euros per night for the suite.

We have stayed in October 2016 in the same suite. Only the bathroom furniture including the bathtub was the same. Everything else had been replaced. The decor was stylish. The living room felt much bigger now.

There were two small things but they felt quite irritating. I had to connect to the room wifi at least ten times with my Windows laptop. My partner with an iPad had to do that only once. Also, the Finnish TV channel YLE1 lost its signal every 10 minutes for a couple of minutes and then came back.

The breakfast was good. The food selection was quite wide. The juices were far too sugary.

The staff was very friendly, especially in the reception and in the lobby bar.

One thing that was quite special and probably not to everyone's taste was the staircase that acted as a gym.

Vi visited this hotell in the first days of january. It is located near the old city and across a big mall. The rooms we stayed in were comfortable.

The breakfast was overcrowded and messy. The buffet is not well placed and leads to cues and traffic jams. The buffet itself is ok, but the bread was pretty dry.

The worst was the staff. Uninterested in working with guests. No "welcome to our hotel", "have a nice stay" or even asking if we had a nice stay. They hardly look at you but instead their eyes are mainly locked on their computer screen. Not even a smile on thwir face (none of them). The staff is even rude... We had been waiting and when it finaly was our turn, someone from the restaurant staff broke in our conversation and had a long talk with the person who was checking in us. No sorry, no nothing. All of the staff need to go extensiv training in how to handle guests.

So location good, but we wont be comming back to this hotel.

Stayed two nights in a junior suite on the 9th floor.

The room was very modern and fresh (hotel renovated in 2021?), and with lots of space all over. Very nice lounge area, coffee machine, mini bar, desk and storage. Bathroom also very inviting, with the shower water pressure as the only downside…

The hotel also offers a spa area with reasonably priced treatments and a trendy bar/restaurant. We had one dinner at the hotel grill restaurant and the shared experience platter was amazing! Also not too pricey compared to the restaurants up in Tallinn Old Town.

The only negative was on departure day when we were promised to keep the room a couple of hours extra due late flight, but this was turned down by another staff member the following morning. Unprofessional.

The hotel is overall amazing! The reception workers were so kind and helpful, they gave a Lotte toy, coloring book and pencils to my daughter as well! The restaurant is very up to date, quiet and comfy! View from the room was very good(see the pic). The room was also amazing, up to date and comfy. The bed is easily the comfiest bed i’ve slept in!
Everything was available in the room and bathroom, including a capsule coffee machine. 10/10 would visit again and I recommend the hotel to everyone!

Very nice hotel at first sight.
We had a double standard room and it had an area of 16-17m2. The room was arranged in such a way that if one opened the cupboard door or the minibar door, the entrance door could not be opened. There was a folding valley support, but there was nowhere to put it. On cruise ships the cabins are larger. There were liquid stains and crumbs on 1 bedside table. We complained and we were given a triple room that was clean and had approximately 20-21m2, enough for 2 people, but if a 3rd person had to sleep there in a folde bed, it would no longer be possible to move around the room. Both badrooms were 2m2 (included above) with a shower, sink and toilet
The breakfast was well stocked, although sparse for a sweet breakfast. You had to prepare the pancakes yourself.
We wanted to eat at the hotel in the evening on the arrival day, so no reservation, and were refused: everything is reserved although the restaurant was half empty. We then went to the lobby bar, where you can also eat something, where we were told that we had to wait at least 1 hour before the food could be served. Out of misery we went to McDonalds.

Response from Hanna-Liisa Filippov, Guest Services / Front Office at Tallink City Hotel
Responded 1 week ago
Dear, Thank you for taking the time to provide detailed feedback about your recent stay with us. We sincerely apologize for the issues you encountered and appreciate your constructive comments. We are sorry to hear that your initial room did not meet your expectations and that the space was not as functional as it should have been. We understand how important comfort and convenience are during a stay, and we will address the room layout concerns with our team to improve the experience for future guests. We also apologize for the cleanliness oversight in your first room. Our housekeeping team strives to maintain high standards, and we will review our procedures to ensure this does not happen again. We are glad we could provide you with a cleaner, more spacious room as a resolution. We regret that your experience with our dining services was not satisfactory. The lack of availability in our restaurant and the long wait time at the lobby bar are not reflective of the service we aim to provide. We will review our reservation and service processes to ensure a more efficient and accommodating dining experience. Your feedback about the breakfast options has been noted, and we will consider adding more sweet options to cater to a wider range of preferences. Additionally, we will explore ways to improve our pancake-making station for better convenience. Once again, thank you for your valuable feedback. We hope you will consider staying with us again in the future, giving us the opportunity to provide you with a more enjoyable experience. Warm regards, Hanna-Liisa Filippov

Qual é a distância até o Hremitage? É perto do local de onde sai o barco para Peterhof?
Answer from KatrinVilimae

Dear Marjo, Thank you for your interest regarding our parking. We have a small parking lot situated behind the hotel, but it`s not a garage. To get to the parking place you need to turn behind the house (from street Laikmaa 5), there is a gate next to our main door with a bell. You have to push the bell and security will tell you if we have any free parking places. If we have a free parking place then security will open a gate for you and then you are able to drive through it and turn to the right. Then you are able to see another gate where you have to pass trough too. If you can not find the gate, you can stop for a minute before the taxis and ask inside a hotel from the porter or administrator, they will show you the correct way. Unfortunately we can not reserve or guarentee parking places. If we don’t have a free parking place then we have a contract with Viru Parking House ( a cross the street ) according to that our clients will get -33% discount there. Just ask a stamp from the Hotel reception on to the parking ticket. Best regards, Katrin Vilimäe Front Office Manager
