Travelers' Choice
A comfortable and elegant lifestyle hotel created in the 19th-century city estate of German-Baltic Baron von Stackelberg – a small, cozy quarter of its own located next to the beautiful medieval Old Town of Tallinn, Estonia. Originally built in 1874, the building has an exciting history and underwent complete restoration in 2015 and is constantly being improved and renovated. The von Stackelberg Hotel Tallinn is located directly at the foot of Toompea Hill, only a few steps away from Toompea Castle, Nevsky Cathedral and the numerous landmarks of the best preserved medieval town in Northern Europe. You can enjoy a delicious breakfast at the cozy restaurant Emmeline, which is also opened for fine dining and casual meals. For wine lovers the OTTO's Wine & Tapas Bar is the perfect place to enjoy some drinks and snacks in a lovely atmoshepre. You can also choose to chill out in front of a fireplace in the von Stackelberg Lobby Bar with a delicious cocktail and a good book from the library corner. For those in the need for a pampering, our Zen SPA with a visit to the Japanese pool and sauna is a must.

We were traveling for business, and my boss had made reservations for the four of us under her name. The receptionist didn't find us in the system, kept us waiting for half an hour and did not apologize once. One of my colleagues used to work in a hotel for years and said she said she'd never seen a problem like this. The receptionist was very unprofessional, I didn't feel welcome. She also kept taking other customers while still in the middle of sorting out our mess. We were then given rooms, all in different floors. No one even offered to assist us with our luggage. What's more, the breakfast had been postponed so that it would only be served after we'd left for the office. They said they might be able to fix some sort of breakfast boxes for us to take with us. That was done, ok, great, but the staff never informed us if this would be possible, and we wouldn't even have received them if we hadn't asked about it ourselves. Checking out, the staff saw our room numbers, so why didn't they mention that oh, by the way, we have your breakfast here? The sandwiches were poor and we ended up eating them from paper bags at the office. My room was nice, but the overall experience was terrible. Would I recommend this hotel to someone? Well, absolutely not.

All was fine except service which was surprisingly lukewarm. The girl in reception had much going on with her colleague to whom she continued talking while I was just standing there alone waiting to check in. Then the telephone rang and she had to answer that. All in all it felt a bit rude.  Shower head toooo oldish especially for a room that supposed to be de luxe.  Unfortunately, noises from upper floor as well as behind door were too audible.  Basic breakfast.

Loved the bed, did not like anything else. Stayed here for a weekend getaway. The room itself was nice and clean, the bed was quite big and our deluxe room had a bathtub with bubbles. However!! the "romantic surprise" was just a few rose pedals on the windowseat, a champagne that you couldn't store anywhere after opening because the fridge was full of minibar stuff and some weird superdry chocolates (and it was 35€ for something that did not make the experience more enjoyable). The spa was quite cute and the bubblebath as well, but the food we had was not that great. Also the curtains did not close all the way and there was a lot of light coming in. I had a terrible headache and the fact that the room was full of light did not help (even with the curtains closed). Eventually all we could enjoy was a long sleep but could not fall asleep for a while due to very loud music coming from somewhere downstairs. Paid a total of 210€ for something I would not recommend anyone else. Sad!

The historic building creates the atmosphere you expect. Modern service and equipment provide all the comforts. The courtyard creates a feeling of comfort no less than a room. The noise of air conditioners in the courtyard interferes a little, but this is the objective price of silence and freshness in the rooms.
