We stayed at the Kempinksi while in town for a wedding and really enjoyed our stay. Manager (Richard) helped us sort out a room issue upon arrival and followed up with us to ensure our stay was pleasant. The room was spacious and we enjoyed the turn down service and ability to order a custom pillow. Caviar buffet was excellent and staff was very attentive. We also enjoyed the spa. Excellent service, we will need to return!

Hotel's Favorite
It is very nearly impossible to fault this hotel on anything, and it is only by being really fussy that one can even try. I will follow my usual format and go through the several headings. LOCATION : As near perfect as can be, right opposite the cathedral, Grand Duke’s Palace and Gediminas tower, with the old town directly behind it, the main Gediminas Prospect round the corner one way and the President’s Palace round the corner the other way and practically everything you will want to see in easy walking distance. It’s a good half-hour’s walk from the railway station and slightly less from the bus station, but if you’re walking from either of them it’s arguable that you shouldn’t be staying at the Kempinski. RECEPTION : Very polite and friendly, impeccable English and always helpful. ACCOMMODATION : Our suite was very spacious, spotless, quiet and comfortable, with everything you want and lots you probably don’t. And, yes, the room rate does include two shirts laundered every day, although you will probably have to ask for the laundry bags. Laundry is done very well and returned amazingly quickly. The bed was soft enough for my wife’s tastes, which is most unusual, and the pillows firm enough for mine, which is even more so. We had no trouble from the phantom furniture movers or the clomping clog-dancers who usually follow us all over the world just so that they can practise their respective arts all night in the room above ours. In fact no noise penetrated from above, below, the corridor or the main road outside, even though we were only on the first floor (which they, like the Americans, pretend is the second). BREAKFAST : Any place where they offer you a choice of five kinds of caviar and two kinds of champagne for breakfast can’t be all that bad. There are all the usual hot and cold buffet dishes on offer as well, plus an extensive menu of extras which can be ordered for no extra charge. All of it is beautifully cooked and served. The only niggle is that the restaurant is not really big enough for the clientele. There are five small tables by the windows and two banquette booths, but the rest of the space is taken up by what is effectively one very long table right down the centre of the room. This might be all very well for gregarious continentals, but does not go down well with British guests. IN-ROOM ENTERTAINMENT : Wi-fi is free, quite fast enough, and generally reliable, although I sometimes had to switch it off and start again before it would link to my MacBook. The TV service has a number of English language channels on its menu, but most of them don’t work, even though it tells you what programme you are not watching. BBC news was the only BBC channel that we could get to function, although there were several others listed. SPA : The pool is very well-maintained and the spa staff are very friendly and helpful. It tends to get busier as the day wears on. OVERALL VERDICT : Definitely first class. If you can afford it, go for it. If you can’t afford it, save up.

We enjoyed our stay a lot at this hotel. We travel a lot so we (well me!) are fussy. So much was perfect, in fact near all. Breakfast was really out of this world, service was not instructive but was attentive, you could do wine tasting if you wanted (for a fee).... and the spa was very well run. Although I would concur with the other reviewers that there was too soft a bed and pillows, which I only comment on as the next night I stayed somewhere with a firm bed and plump pillows and slept better than I had here.

Nothing short of class and refinement sums up this old dame. Located at Cathedral Square which is so convenient that the tourist hops are all within walking distance. Ours was the larger room in the hotel & the extra bed for our son was comfortable to accommodate even an adult. Quality of everything is top notch. The spa area is clean and everything works nicely. Though I found water in swimming pool a bit too cold for my comfort. Breakfast is excellent too. An ATM is right round the corner. Concierge is very helpful. Overall the service is efficient.
