Atrium Hotel is now called Atrium Suites and managed by InnStyle Rentals. It is now categorized as apartment rental with eating utensils like plates, bowl, mugs, glasses and cutlery. But then there was no cooking facilities, not even a microwave but there was electric kettle to boil water and some tea bags and coffee. There was no place to wash the plates since the bathroom sink was small. The small refrigerator was nicely hidden inside a big cabinet inder the tv. In terms of space, the room was really big. Very spacious with a living room furniture set. The bed was big but pillows were hard. The bathroom was also big and had a bathtub, and a shower cabinet. The hairdryer was old and emitted a certain weird smell when turned on. So, I did not use it. By the way, we stayed at a Superior suite room. The hotel was clean and the management expected every guest to keep the room as clean as possible like how it was when we checked in. Used plates and glasses must be washed, garbage must be thrown outside, not allowed to move the furnitures and so on. You’ll find the rules in the room on the table. They would also send you a message with instructions before you check out. We found this to be so annoying. Imagine carrying the luggages and plastic bags full of garbage to be thrown outside. Atrium Suites still has the Atrium Hotel sign in front of the building. There seemed to be a restaurant too but no longer operational at present. It looked more like a forsaken and abandoned hotel. We could tell that it used to be a nice hotel which made us wonder what happened there. It’s a big mystery. Check in instruction was given in advance. It was easy to follow. You’ll be given a code to enter the building and a usercode and pin to open the key cabinet. There was nobody in the premises to help you out in case there’s a problem. Everything is self-service. However, the management staff is available when you call them on the phone. The location of Atrium Suites is amazing. Just steps away from restaurants and cafes. The room rates are very affordable. Despite the turn offs due to throwing the garbage and so on, we would definitely stay here again mainly because of its prime location, price, and cleanliness.

I booked the Atrium through Booking.com. The location and prices were good. I looked at the Atrium Hotel web site and the photograph on Booking.com (which showed “Atrium Hotel” on the front signage and advertises a restaurant). When I got the booking confirmation it stated, “On the day of your arrival we will send you brief instructions how to enter the apartment by yourself. We don't have reception and all doors can be opened with codes”. I tried contacting the Atrium several times through Booking.com but got no reply. I then phoned them and was told that the Atrium Hotel does not exist anymore. I contacted Customer Service at Booking.com and explained that I felt misled and I would prefer to cancel and book a Hotel. They contacted the Atrium but again no reply. It took 3 days for them to respond. The answer was negative – they would not refund the payment even with their misleading information. The superior suite was basic but clean, and the premises are in a very good location – near the café bars etc. in the old town. The air-con was poor – it did not cool the room. Another couple of points. The suite does not have any cooking facilities so in my view it is not an apartment – it’s not a hotel either. It’s a room with no facilities. I had to check-out of the suite by 11.00 am and my flight home was not until the late evening. So, I had to leave my suitcase in an UNLOCKED storage room and there is no toilet and even a wash-hand basin to freshen up during the day, and no staff to help or advise. Hence my poor review.

We were looking for a mid-range hotel with a family room in the heart of old town. The location is superb, lobby looks good and our two-storied room was spacious. The room even had two bathrooms (one with shower and bath and the other was small with just a toilet). Even the breakfast was good and exceeded expectations. But the furniture in the room were outdated and both beds (one for adults and the other for kids made from sofa) were horrible. Also the bedclothes and pillows were below standard. We stayed two nights and could not sleep almost at all. If they would renew beds, I would give at least 4 stars to this hotel.

The hotel is a very nice old building located in the heart of the city. The star was extremely friendly. The breakfast was very tasty and good. They ask and cook egg for you instantly. Love it and will definitely stay there next time. All the best.
