Detailed Reviews
My first trip to Slovakia was great. The area I explored on my bike was beautiful. But the best thing was the accommodation in the Pension Darinka. The room was immaculate, the people were friendly and accommodating and the breakfast was a delight. thank you very much

We stayed a few nights in this guesthouse in Poprad. Check In was ok. We had a deluxe studio suite with a kitchenette and balcony. The room itself was new and clean. The bed was comfortable - we would have liked to have the chance to switch the bedlights on each side on and off separately. The TV has only a few english channels and no german channels.
The bathroom was great. Towels are changed every three days.
There is parking available.
Breakfast is served by choice either at 7:30, 8:30 or 9:30 a.m. It is buffet style, available are bread, toast, cheese and cold cuts, tomatoes, cucumber and pepper, yoghurt, orange nectar, eggs (daily varied fried, scrambeld, sometimes boiled), cake, some fruit and cereals, coffee and tea in a thermos jug.

We spent one night at this beautiful and comfortable hotel and wished we could have stayed longer. The rooms were well appointed and comfortable. We were going to be checking out early and would miss breakfast - the manager was generous enough to make huge sandwiches for all of us to be picked up on the way out in the morning. Parking the car was a little tricky because we were fitting a big van in a relatively small place - but we did it!

darinka is located 15 minutes walk to aguacity and 25 minutes walk to forum shopping center. there is nothing to see at the old town.the rooms are OK , but the breakfast is quite poor - few vegetables, toast, bit of ham... you have to ask for the eggs. definetly poor. the rooms are clean, the shower is large but has an open view to the bed - quite intimidating... everything is modern

+1
We went here just for one night and we were nicely surprised. This is brand new place. The new building with modern but cosy rooms. The breakfast room is comfortable and is changed to mini-pub in the evening. Breakfast and evening meal were very tasty and served in pleasant way. The price was superb! Also Lenka - a host/a member of staff was very friendly and make our stay very happy. We’re going to suggest this place to everyone:)

Great penzion. We stayed for 8 nights to experience tatra mountains. The host was really nice and helpful. She even cooked us some vegetarian meals for dinner. Breakfast was very good. The staff were courteous. Poprad is quite a small and peaceful city. The walk to train station is around 20 miss long. Good since that gave us an opportunity to do some walking. The room itself felt like home with all amenities. Warm water available. Lovely experience. We got so tired after hiking in mountains so it was awesome to relax in the evening in such a beautiful room. There was quite loud music and noise on the first night from the neighbours after 11 pm. We had to call the Police and after about an hour they arrived and got the music stopped.

The first obstacle is finding the place. You can only see the sign coming from one direction. Then you have to scale a very steep hill to get to the parking. Not the best first impression.
Then there were the room keys. My first question is why any hotel would use traditional keys for room access verses swiping a key card? It wasn’t a simple quarter turn either, you had to twist the key in the lock 360 degrees then realize you went the wrong direction and start over. This could easily turn into a 30 second ordeal. The sound of keys jangling in locks was common. The silly part is when you’re in the room you have to again turn the key to lock the door. This seems like a huge code violation of some sort. Imagine a fire breaks out in the middle of the night and to exit you have to locate your key to place in a metal knob. Crazy.
The room itself was quite underwhelming. Yes, it was clean and modern, but close your eyes and you could have been anywhere. Stark white walls and flat beds made me very glad we didn’t spend much time in the room. We stayed two nights, and the room was never serviced. That was odd for us when we’re used to American hospitality. There was a note in the bathroom saying the towels are refreshed every three days or you get charged, so not sure if they would make the bed during that time too. There was a window from the shower into the room, but luckily they provide a shade you can pull to cover. We left it covered the entire time. Seems like a huge waste of money to put a glass window where you don’t want one. I don’t know, the place was strange.

I spent one night at this beautiful hotel and wished I could have stayed longer because this place have one of the best atmosphere I've ever experienced. Especially I must to mention the lady who works here, Michaela. She is very communicative and friendly, and even in such a short time I spent there I have to say I saw how she talked to other guests and that level of friendliness is in Slovakia something, what man just doesn't meet so easily.
The rooms were well appointed and comfortable everything was clean and on a high level comparable with expensive hotels.
I asked for early breakfasts and I was satisfied for a hundred percent, everything was properly prepared and delicious. :)
I had no problem with parking, and the accessibility to the center is great.
I will come back here every time I need to sleep in Poprad or on that area.
My last word is that it's a surreal experience for surreal money, I highly recommend this place to everyone. :)
