Place is nice, but advertisement was presented in a way that it will suit everyone. Unfortunately not: Not for disabled persons - no elevator. Heating not efficient. Standard from 70s anyhow kept in good condition. Average price...

The villa is of a traditional, old style. In general, there could be updates, but the place is charming overall. Our room was large and comfortable, with separate sleeping and lounge areas. The lobby sitting area is also large and comfortable, and they serve great coffee. The only thing I didn't like about the hotel was that the bathroom didn't... More

I have just returned from one week stay in this beautiful villa. The historcial atmosphere is the first what you feel after entering. And what comes next? Unbelievable hospitality of the stuff there. After a week we were crying to have to go home and for sure we will come again to meet with them. Not only here but also... More

There was an error with our order and we got room with separated beds, but staff was helpful and situated us in another room in the tower. Actually there were two quite big rooms and bathroom, but they were quite cold and without heating and it looked very old and used. Also, there wasn't wifi signal. Breakfast buffet had good... More

This was our second visit to Villa Szontagh after 3 years. The hotel is very well positioned for travellers using public transport. The staff were friendly, polite and attentive. They were very helpful when we needed something. Breakfast buffet had a substantial range of food for a hotel of this size and was replenished regularly. The service of breakfast covered... More

A great place to stay if you want to discover the High-Tatras and surroundings. The location is very good, you can start your climbing tour from here and you can reach the neighboring famous sights from here - even by using public transport. The villa has own parking place, which is a good point. Rustic atmosphere, very comfortable rooms. I... More

Villa Szontagh offers unique possibility to stay in the historic building - villa of the original founder of Novy Smokovec spa. This also means that furnishing of the rooms is set in old style and some rooms might be dark, but this always comes with staying in older buildings. On the other side, the location of the building is among... More

We spent 4 days in winter in Villa Szontagh between Christmas and Now Year 2009. Most places demand you to stay either for Christmas or New Year, but Villa Szontagh does not put you in this situation. The Villa is perfectly located for those using public transport, literally under 5 mins from a train stop Novy Smokovec and around 10... More

Stayed here over new year, lovely hotel. Rooms are MASSIVE! Staff and owners are brilliant, so helpful. Stary Smokovec is a lovely, quiet, little town and a good base for skiing/ snowboarding.

Staying there 2 times, at February and September 2007. I swear, it is the best hotel where I was! First, we (me and my wife) have been welcomed as old best friends of family. Hotel owner, Anton Vrabel, in the care of us, become to "our second father". Every morning he ask us about our plans for the day and... More
