This little hotel had charming, modern rooms which were comfortable and pretty. The location is great, on a cobbled side street about a 1/3 of a block from the clock tower where there are great restaurants, cafes and shops. The hotel had breakfast and wifi. I would definitely stay here again. I really loved it!!

I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights recently as a single traveller. It is a budget hotel so one should not expect too much. I had a single room which actually was half of a small single. it was basic but very clean. the room contained a single bed,far from luxurious bedclothes,a small table ,a small wardrobe,a tv,safe and large... The room at Hotel Michalska Brana was huge and had all of the amenities. It's located just a few yards from Michael's Gate, which puts you close to the squares, shops, restaurants, etc. We decided to get the food plan, which provides breakfast each day. The buffet had a wide range of meats, cheeses, cereals and pastries. Something for everyone.... More

We stayed in this hotel as the start of our mini-European-tour for 2 nights. The location of this hotel cannot be faulted - it is central, and a stones throw away from the old town. It can be a little bit of a problem - the Friday night in particular was extremely noisy with the hustle and bustle of the... More

This is a nice central hotel, underneath the castle. Whilst being an old building, the rooms were modern and very functional, and mine had a great shower. If I had a complaint, it was that the delivery vans, and worse a garbage truck, reversed up the narrow dead end street outside the hotel and were quite noisy.

Very central indeed, a 30 second walk from Michalska Brana, friendly staff & nice rooms. Decent breakfast with a nice outdoors area to eat in also. I don't really have much bad to say about this place!

The hotel is located directly in the city center and everything is in walking distance. Our room was equiped comfortable and the bathroom was very big and modern - the slide door to the bathroom is not ideal and probably the only black mark. Breakfast is ok but nothing special.

Couldn't get closer to the main attractions if you tried. On a nice quiet pedestrian street just beside St Michael's Gate. Room was spacious and comfortable. We were on the top floor so the wifi signal could be weak in the room but stronger towards the door. Very good shower! Lift available but the hotel is located on a cobblestone... More

Hotel located in the heart of the CityCentre, the rooms are quite modern and well designed, everything is perfect. Breakfast is great chioce, and the price is good for the services provided. beautiful hotel set in a very old building very quiet, lovely breakfasts and very close to the city for sight seeing and for eating we chose a fast food place which was a little disappointing but there were lots of different place to east with all sorts of price ranges. The parking for the hotel is a reasonable walk away... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel Michalska Brana is located in a very quiet street of the pedestrian zone of the Old Town, Bastova Street 4. Bastova Street is considered to be the narrowest and most romantic street of Bratislava. Street itself tells many stories. It was built in 13th and 14th century and in medieval age and for centuries it used to be famous for being a home of the city hangman. His house was demolished and replaced with a new baroque building in the middle of 18th century right facing the property of our hotel. Hotel Michalska Brana is neighboring to majority of embassies and also therefore our location is very safe. All sights on hand - we are only a 1 minute walk to nearby Saint Michael’s Gate, cafe and entertainment Michalska Street or medieval Kapucinska Street, just about a 5 minute walk to the Opera or Presidential Palace. The nearby Bratislava Castle you can reach in 20 minute walk, which is a time you need to get to Danube River too. ... more   less
