We stayed in a shared dorm (6) during our stay, and wished that we had stayed elsewhere altogether. Fortunately the friendly people in our room made the experience bearable. The room had bedding that had not been changed since the traveller had checked out the night before. There were two (dirty) functioning showers across an entire floor full of dorm rooms and by the morning there was one toilet on the whole floor that had any toilet roll in it. The shelf by the bed that I stayed in was hanging off the wall, there were no privacy curtains or personal lights. At first we were also expected by default to share one locker until we asked about this and paid another €10 deposit to be given another. A lot of noise could be heard from the room from people in the hallways, stairs, toilet and outside in the garden area until late. I gave this 2/5, because despite having an overall terrible experience here, I appreciate that the clothes washing facilities and free welcome drink are useful, so it would not be fair to slam this overall for anyone else. The downstairs bar is also well equipped and a great atmosphere.…
I was only staying for one night and I don’t think I could have managed another here. Cleanliness was definitely an issue and I felt unclean even after having a shower. I don’t like that the showers aren’t split male and female, I felt quite uncomfortable and the toilets all at once ended up having no toilet roll throughout the night and morning. Thankfully the room had lockers but even still I felt weary of my surroundings. I won’t be returning.
Here I discovered what a proper organized hostel mean. They had everything. And something plus: free stuff (like a free welcome drink and free anti snoring earbud). Position is good, bed comfortable. Bathroom can be somehow better, but all the rest compensate for this small inconvenient.
Good value for money. Very friendly staff. Good location. Sadly no breakfast, only breakfast packs. No aircondition but there was a fan. There is a locked bike room where you can safely lock away your bike. Nice bar and garden. Every evening there is an activity in the bar. You get a welcome drink coupon upon arrival, nice touch.
I know this is a hostel so the standards should be lower but, the room that cost us 68e for 1 night smelled awful, we had to sleep with our window wide open and the toilet door closed. The smell came from the bathroom, possibly due to the drainage. We only needed a place to sleep for one night and did not require something special but due to the smell i will also mention that the room was quite dusty, the walls are very thin and you here everything that happens around you. I have spent some time at different hostels and this is one of the worst. The only good thing was the terrace and bar of the hostel which was very lively. I would not return here. ps we stayed in room 53.
I had a huge family emergency literally 1 day before the stay and had to cut short my stay in Bratislava, but the hostel didn't want to give me back my money. They stole €17.60 from me and I even went personally to kindly ask them for a refund because I won't be able to stay and they said no. These people have no feelings, I needed this money to help pay for my family member's medicine, they could've just refunded it in cash if it was simpler. NEVER STAY HERE, YOU'LL REGRET IT IF YOU DO. Find a hostel with actual human beings who can make exceptions in emergency cases.
They had every detail just right. They had a towel for use and a mini bit of shampoo on the bed. The place has everything. Laundry. Luggage storage. Great kitchen and lounge area. I love this place. Our room was very quiet. No street noise at all. We had a fridge and mini kitchen on our floor and had use of the very large downstairs new kitchen.
Had a private room with ny partner on the 5th floor, room was so small that couldn’t even open a suitcase without blocking the bathroom and entry door. Sheets were so old that they were already seethrough. Building was old and didn’t look very inviting, but we had already made the booking. Anyway.. not going back.
Me and the ol’ ball n’ chain/boss came here after our one night stay at Chors because they didn’t have availability for more nights. We should have stayed aaaanywhere else. This place is hideous. We stayed in a double private room. Dark and dirty, everything’s cheap and disgusting. No hot water in the shower either - love a cold shower in the morning. Awful. The staff are about as personable as a used sock especially the long haired fella - if you need a good sleep then go and get the energy drained out of you by his sunny disposition. The woman working there equally lacks a personality. GO TO CHORS - it’s on the main road in a super central position and the same price (was actually slightly cheaper) it actually feels like a hotel - clean, great vibe and good staff. Don’t stay in this Patio cesspit - it’s genuinely awful. Get some new staff and wash some things… You’re welcome.…
My group and I were looking forward to our stay at the Patio Hostel booked for early April. However, due to the coronavirus and borders closing (including Slovakia) we had to cancel our holiday. All other companies, air lines, coaches, trains and accommodation gave us a full refund or travel credits to use in the future. However, Patio Hostel refuse to budge and will not refund us as they are more interested in themselves and how much the virus will impact the accommodation industry - as per my messages from them. This epidemic is not the consumers fault either. Really poor to say the very least and I, along with my group and other travellers I know will never book here in the future. Have some morals!
