Disappointing, can't understand how this is a 4* hotel. Everything about this hotel is tired, the staff, the appearance of the rooms and most definitely the cleaners. The sad fact is that with not a great deal of effort this place could be great. Yes, we got a 'suite' with a small kictchen etc - but there were hairs all over the bathroom and toilet floors. Reception promised to get it cleaned, but when we came back at bedtime they were still there and we had to 'mop' them up ourselves (at 11.30pm at night) as best we could with wet-wipes. The toilet-roll holder was off the wall and the shower rail was about to fall off (we had to be extremely careful when adjusting the height of the shower head). And then when in bed, we saw the large horrrible brown damp patch on the ceiling - bigger than a dinner plate; disgusting. Re breakfast, the Reception lady advised if we book breakfast before a certain time the evening before, it would be 10 Euros each per day, but if booked after the cut off the price would double to 20 Euros each (???) so because of that (not to mention the standard of cleanliness) we ate breakfasts elsewhere. Also, the hotel had advised us beforehand re a taxi from the station would be 3 - 5 Euro so we got them to book it for us and the taxi man charged 15 Euro. I mentioned this to the lady on Reception and she just shrugged. On the day we checked out, the young guy on Reception duty seemed confused and alternated between two computers before he finally confirmed all was paid. He did not ask "if everything had been ok" etc - no 'pleasantries' whatsoever. I suppose on the plus side: 1) the bed was clean and very comfortable, 2) it was very quiet at night so no problem sleeping, 3) good enough location, about 7 - 10 mins walk down into the centre of Bratisla (DEFINITELY OT 2 OR 3 MILES AS I READ IN A PREVIOUS REVIEW!) But note that it is a continuous 'medium' uphill road the whole way back from the centre - which was ok for us, but if you aren't reasonably fit or are carrying stuff then you might struggle a bit.

I stayed at the hotel over the May 2019 Bank Holiday Weekend. The room I had was spacious and comfortable. The room was clean and towels were changed every day. The room had a smart TV which was an added bonus and allowed me to charge my devices. The room had a mini kitchen which again was ideal for storing bottled water etc. The location was approx 10min walk from the centre which again for me personally was no issues and a pleasant walk. Staff were always friendly and the check in process was quick. The hotel organised transfers to and from the airport which again went well and no issues at all. The only negative for me from the whole weekend would be the breakfast and not much choice of hot food. Overall though a nice hotel.

The hotel is poorly located up a steep hill nearly two miles from the old town. The entrance to the hotel is up a stretch of cobbles followed by two sets of steep steps - and no assistance is available for handling the luggage. On arrival the receptionist without any greeting walked off into an adjoining room without acknowledging us in any way. After a few minutes I had to ring the bell for some attention. Check-in was curt. The room itself was OK except when it came to cleaning it. On the first day we returned to find that although the towels had been changed the bins had not been emptied, the bed had not been made and the floor had not been cleaned. When we complained we were told that the floor was cleaned only after three days and that the cleaner had obviously forgotten to do the rest. No apology was offered. There is no restaurant in the hotel necessitating a long walk down the hill into town. A note of caution about early booking. I booked the hotel with Expedia five months before arriving. I paid £154 per night but on arrival found that the actual cost was £65. I always book early but in future will make sure of the current cost before I travel!

To my poor luck I stayed in this abysmal hotel for 2 nights. Lady at reception knowingly gave me smaller room at first when I booked a bigger room and after complaining for multiple times, I was shifted to actual booked room. Room was smelly, half of the utensils were not washed, toilets were completely unclean. Even it had bugs. AC doesn't cool either. Place as many as complaints you want with reception staff noone listens or bother. Pathetic hotel, cold staff, poor location (just castle view from kitchen). Better stay away, if you want to enjoy your vacation.

I have stayed a few days in the Sulekova hotel. It is close to the city in a non-central location. Hotel is a bit run down which small defects (elec plugs not working, no real hot water, a lot of stains on sofas and carpets, etc) however the hotel offers a good value for money and the staff is nice.
