We spent a nice weekend at Hotel Historia. The room was clean, not to modern but still cozy. The staff was really kind and helpful. There were several things what bothered us: when we wanted to go the wellness area, once it was closed, and they always forgot to turn the steam cabin on. The sauna did not work, for these I only rate the hotel with 4.
Very well located near the historic centre / castle. Pleasant cobbled courtyard contains parking. Rooms comfortable although quite basic furnishings for the price. But they have a small fridge and a safe. Staff friendly but would have appreciated slightly more attention to detail from them e.g. removing dirty coffee cup from room rather than leaving it there, restocking sachets of instant coffee after we used the two they gave us on the first night. The spa is very small and seemed a little grubby e.g. stains on the daybed covers, stains on tiles in jacuzzi.
Very good hotel, rooms are very well catered for, spacious and clean. Very warm as well specially with it being -2 outside. Didn’t need heating at all. Breakfast is relatively limited but good. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would go there again myself.
This hotel is just on the edge of the old historic district of the town. It’s arranged around a courtyard used for parking and as a smoking terrace. The building appears quite old but extensively renovated and is in excellent condition. Inside there are lots of exposed beams that give the rooms character. My room was a reasonable size and had a bathroom with walk-in shower. (Bonus points for that!) The bathroom was very clean, as was the bedroom itself. Lighting was good and there were enough electrical outlets. The bed itself was a bit odd though. The top of the rather uncomfortable mattress was only about 12” (300mm) off the floor. The room was very quiet though, which I appreciated. WiFi was effective but also a little unusual. They have lots of different networks, and moving a few yards seems to necessitate connecting to a different one. There is breakfast, although to be honest it was pretty uninspiring. Just yoghurt, bread, scrambled egg and Hungarian sausage. The big negative during my stay was the air conditioning, or rather, the absence of. It’s physically present but wasn’t working. The young women working at Reception, (who’s English was limited,) seemed to have no idea when it would be fixed.…
Goog location - walking distance to historical part of the city. Interesting architecture - mix of modern and arhaic style. Good breakfast and cozy small wellnes with 1 finish sauna and 1 steam suana and small pool. You can park on courtyard. Staff speaks good english and is very helpful.
Well located (close to center), nice decoration. Extremely friendly and cooperative receptionist, offering good advice. Nice small and cozy spa. Rooms of acceptable size, small bathroom, well kept. Not the best breakfast (restaurant is closed), but enjoyed at the patio on sunny days. Parking on site. Would come back.
Very disappointed by this hotel, especially because it is so highly rated. We stayed for 2 nights and it was extremely pricey for what you get! The first morning, we arrived to breakfast at 8:30am and there was nothing left!! Literally not even a bowl for cereal. The egg tray was empty, cappuccino machine out of water, and no croissants to be found. Wow. After letting the front desk know, about 30 min later, there was a tiny bit of food put out - certainly not enough for the 5 or 6 people waiting by that point. That evening when we returned, our beds were made but towels on the floor were simply hung back up - not replaced!! The dirty glasses in the room were not washed or replaced either and trash can wasn't emptied. Again, wow. My mother got a massage and it was very "meh". Nothing in this hotel warrants 4 starts or the prices they charge. Will definitely not be back.…
I booked a room a few weeks in advance. Travelling for business, I arrived late and had to leave early next morning, so I was not able to use the wellness and spa. The restaurant was closed due to refurbishment. The breakfast was OK, scrambled eggs were freshly made. Personnel was very friendly and kind. I first got the room 108, clean and neat, but facing the road. Due to that it was Kind of loud, in particular when cars drove by and over the gutter. After a short negotiation, I was moved to room 112, a small apartment in the attic. Very nice and quiet.
It's common for me to be in Veszprem for my job and its my favorite hôtel there. People are quite good, bedrooms are nice and well checked, the overall hotel is quite good. The restaurant is ok. The place is in Veszprem center and it's perfect to go out.
Nice hotel. Everything uncomplicated. Nothing to complain. Bed and bathroom comfortable. Breakfast was good. Working people very kind. The only point I could maybe a bit complain is regarding TV Programs: only in ungarian language. I would come again:-)
