Supposedly the best hotel in Szekesfehervar, the Magyar Kiraly is in a two hundred year old building on the edge of the city centre. It was modernised perhaps 20 years' ago, consequently the facilities are OK but nothing special. It has lots of character but feels as if it has fallen on hard times: wall mounted dispensers rather than wrapped toiletries, dubious juice for breakfast, well-used towels, lowest possible wattage bulbs, and so on. My room was big, rather gloomy and bed was too soft for my taste. Reception staff were on the ball and very helpful. Restaurant staff a bit less so. Wifi is free and pretty good. The location is excellent: surrounding area is pedestrianised and the area in front of the hotel is a public square, and the outdoor bar/restaurant is very

Good standard hotel with very good location. Breakfast is ok, nothing special, bit narrow selection. Nice terrace where you can have lunch and some refreshments Gym is more a joke than a real gym, there are very limited selection of equipment. Wifi is fast and has good coverage.

We stayed one night in August in this hotel in a suite. I was disappointed: The room was big and the beds nice (although just one pillow per person) but the furnishing was very basic and there were not enough hangers in the closet. The bathroom was very simple: Absolutely no care products, just one terry cloth towel for the face, no washcloth at all, a shower in the bathtub, the tap in the sink didn't work properly and the water drained off very slowly. They have a parking garage, but it's really difficult to find it. The director's daughter was so kind to show us where its entrance is. Breakfast was fine, but fully self-service and they didn't have normal black tea (e.g. breakfast tea). It is a good 3* hotel at a very central location.

Everything was fine here, we spent here a wonderful weekend. The staff was helpful, they were prepaired for our questions with maps etc. (how to find the underground parking - this could be signposted in the future, but we found it easily after getting the turn-by-turn directions). By the way, for parking in the underground garage costs a little; you can easyly find the way from the parking garage to the reception, there is an elevetor too. There is a wellness area that we did not use - the city gave us more interesting entertainments. The room was big enough and everything worked fine - no problems with beds, bathroom, toilets, lights, tv. Simply but fine, very comfortable. The twin bed was very big and very convenient, the temperature was fine too, but there was a possibility
