I stayed here on business in June. The hotel has a good central location which enables you to explore the historical town. I was disappointed when I opened the door to my room as it was very small with a single bed. Very kindly my colleague gave me his room which as very large with a double bed and comfortable seating – interestingly when we checked out we both paid the same room rate ! Breakfast was OK.

The exterior of the hotel is nice, looks very impresive from the outside. The inside is quite ok also.
The rooms I had has been quite generous in regard to space, the overall standard is rather high.
Breakfast is perhaps a little boring and the choices are slightly on the minimum side, the basic is there.

I travel to Hungary quite often on business, two nights per trip maximum. I have stayed at this hotel several times. I find the staff and service to be very good (it helps if you speak German as some of the staff speak only broken English, we are in their country after all). The hotel has been refurbished to a high standard. Breakfast is very good, excellent choice. I had dinner at the hotel one evening due to late arrival, the food and service was excellent. I make a point of staying here every time I visit the area.Once they have your details from your first visit, internet booking and checking in is very easy. The location is central, a couple of minutes walk to some good bars and restaurants.

The hotel was totally rebuilt in 2010. Nice rooms, good looking restaurant, but poor service, We spent there the last two days of 2011. There was a good party at new years eve. The music was excellent, but the food, and the service was bad.

What a beautiful hotel, in the heart of Szekesfehervar! We were looking for a conference hotel and unfortunately found this one much too late to book. The rooms were all very new and smelled great. The furnishing was very masculine, with leather, dark woods and rich mahogonies. It is located right on the walking street as well. The building is a historical landmark and although the inside was kept quite modern it still retained some of the historical qualities. I really enjoyed my stay here; the staff were all very professional, the rooms lovely and the food tasty. My only complaint would have been that we didn't have great service in the bar. It seems their bartender also doubles as something else.

I have been staying at the Novotel in Szekesfehervar for many, many years and seen it slowly age. I was happy to hear that Accor had sold the Novotel building and took over the Magyar Kiraly - assuming they would refurbish and make it a modern Mercure in an elegant building with great potential in the center of town. I had stayed in the Magyar once maybe 15 yrs or more ago, as it was still an old Eastern European hotel, not really catering to foreigners - I never went back. Now I have tried again, but was disappointed that all that changed was "the name", and the fact that they now have more modern staff, speaking English, forms are in English - so a bit easier. But the rooms and the corridors are still the old carpeted old style, the bar still under developed, gloomy at places, gym a bit scary - it was all clean, quiet - but so hopelessly old fashioned... why is Accor not investing to make this a wonderful place to stay?

Great location. Walk out front door, take a right and you are on Main Street with some great cafes and ice cream. Offers underground parking for slight charge…well worth it. Personnel are super friendly, speak excellent English. Breakfast offers a good variety from real to eggs to fruit. Room was spacious, and had good AC. Only reason did not give 5 star is the bathroom sink needs elevating on the front part. Water sits in the front part vs draining. Also, re-caulking in shower/tub is needed. See pixs. I would stay at this hotel again.

It has an incredibly convenient location and the front desk staff speaks English, plus they're extremely helpful. I've been staying here for a week and the front staff continues to smile and are happy to help with anything I ask.

The hotel is located on the pedestrian plaza, the hotel has a classic look and feel, my room is clean, the bed is very comfortable and the breakfast is good. The only thing I could suggest they improve on, is to have bigger coffee mugs :-) and although the gym is sufficient, I used to be a pro athlete and from my needs I would prefer more equipment in the gym. Otherwise this place is awesome and I would encourage you to stay here.

This is a beautiful little city and you can walk to a lot restaurants, bars, shops and there is a mall at the other end of the plaza. It's very relaxing.

I've really enjoyed my time here. Thank you to the front desk staff! It

We stayed here with a tour and initially everyone was upset as we were told we'd be staying in Budapest. But this lovely old hotel and the town it is in was a surprise. The service was good, the food was good and the location was perfect. We were lucky to be there when they had their Kings festival on and enjoyed the parade. The room we stayed in was basic but clean and a good size, the Wi-Fi was free, there was a mini fridge, in room safe and a kettle (although only 2 fruit tea bags provided). From the hotel it's a short stroll through the street to many cafes, restaurants and shops. Overall we enjoyed our stay.
