The charming four-star hotel is located in the historic town centre of Sárvár, in the vicinity of the 200-year-old Sárvár Botanical Gardens, so when you’re staying at our hotel you can also enjoy the unique atmosphere of one of the best loved towns in Western Hungary and the enchanting green surroundings. It’s also thanks to the excellent Sárvár thermal water and the wide range of wellness services on offer that the town has been admitted to the Association of the Royal Spas of Europe. At our Thermal Hotel you’ll be easily charmed by the calm atmosphere of the thermal pools, the salt cave and the spacious sauna, but you should certainly also save some time for exploring the surrounding area, as the flora and fauna of the Royal Gardens and the renovated building of the Nádasdy Castle all ensure a unique and memorable experience.

Upon arrival, we were given a room on the 4th floor, where there is no balcony. The second day after my request, the helpful receptionist moved us to the 1st floor, room 110 with a balcony, thank you.
The hotel is older, but everywhere clean, fragrant, apparently new mattresses, bathrobes available, towels changed and cleaned every day. Shopping gallery with souvenirs, clothes, bags, a beautiful view of the interior of the hotel (walkways, live flowers) and the thermal interior swimming pool.
The thermal baths are small, but sufficient, we never had to look for free sunbeds and we didn't squeeze in the pools either.
Wellness-pool with whirlpool 36 degrees, outdoor experience pool 34 degrees, swimming pool 28-30 degrees. They also used massage jets regularly.
Sauna center - aroma, infrared, Finnish, massage showers, drinking fountain, rest area.
Half board absolutely amazing!! Breakfast endless options of hot and cold food, baked pastries, dinner absolutely perfect - great selection, one meal better than the other.
A bonus is also the lunch soup as a courtesy of the hotel, i.e. free of charge. There are three soups to choose from, all of which are delicious.
I rate the very high prices of drinks as a minus, I recommend going to the pub near Lídl, which is across the road, for beer and wine, the prices are half as low. I gave 4 stars only because of the price of the drinks, otherwise everything is great and I recommend it.

This is the hotel where we already feel like a member of the family.
The hotel is located in the arboretum, the hotel's programs include a guided walk through the arboretum, which we gladly take part in every time, because it is a pleasure to listen to the history of the arboretum and the origin of the plants led by Gerard.
The water gymnastics led by Gerard is also enjoyable.
The quality and selection of the food is perfect. The entire hotel, the room, the wellness department, the restaurant, and the public spaces were also kept in order and clean. All the hotel staff are kind, polite and friendly.
Unfortunately, we were unable to get to the hotel last year due to health reasons.
I hope we still manage to get here if our health is willing

We are regular guests at this hotel. The location of the hotel is excellent! The quality and selection of the food is perfect. The entire hotel, the room, the wellness department, the restaurant, and the public spaces were also kept in order and clean. The staff is kind, polite and friendly. You feel like a member of the family here! The hotel strives (and succeeds) to make the guest feel good. As before, every time we participate in the Arboretum walk with a guide. It is enjoyable to listen to the history of the arboretum and the origin of the plants. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, we could not travel here in May, so fewer plants bloomed in the arboretum, but it was still possible to take wonderful walks. The small town is charming, and we also visit the castle every year.

I visited this hotel once or twice a year since many years, because I liked the thermal water and loved the possibilities regarding treatments. This year, I was devastated about the bad service and about everything, what was there before, but not available anymore!

I heard that the frequent visitors (Stammgaeste) are not welcome anymore. The management of the hotel offers very low prices for a short stay. This changed everything in the hotel. During the week, the hotel is almost empty and the weekends, there are many people, they arrive, use the swimming pools and the meals but do not even drink anything during their dinner except eventually tap water. Now the hotel is charging for a glass of tap water 200 forint! The waiters are not happy about this new situation, because they also miss the tips, they normally receive and this is a disadvantage regarding their very low salaries.
I personally, I had booked and paid in advance incl. treatments for a several weeks stay. After two weeks, I had to change the room, because the hotel wanted to refurbish the room. I had to change into another room. In this room, I heard until late in the evening the noise of a pump.
In total, if you want to recover, don't visit this hotel anymore.

A very disappointed guest

A very pleasant, solide hotel, old-fashioned in positive meaning. Rooms big enough,
hell, with enough place for your clothes. In the room safe for your valuables.
Very nice people - staff and also the tourists.
Delicious Hungarian and international meals, pool with hot medicinal water indoor and
also open air. Hair dresser, beauty specialist, health care and also a sea-salt-cave
available. Great park for walking and sports.

The staff is wonderfull and friendly, and the food and medical treatments are excellent as well!
Yes, there are a few minor points, the room and the bathroom need some renovation,
nevertheless, I was there for a medical cure, I don't care if my bed is the newest or a little old-fashioned, just as long as the treatment, the staff and the food is good. And from this point of view there is absolutely nothing to complain about in Danubius Sarvar! I had a wonderful and relaxed stay here, the only reason I did not give 5 stars is because the hotel does need some updating. However, the staff, the restaurant and the services provided make it up more then enough for that, so I booked again for oktober 2016!!

The hotel has a good location, in the inner city close to the shops and the castle and directly connected to the arboretum.
The rooms are quite big enough and comfortable however the interior is not modern.
The quality and variety of food is medium.
The wifi works well.

The building and the furniture are a little bit old stylish. Some refurbishment would be required for sure. The minibar is empty…
Mostly recommended for adults. Altogether provides a not bad price-value ratio in Sárvár with her “retro feeling”.

If you really want to relax and have peace, this is your place. The thermal water in the hotel is very nice and big enough for everyone in the hotel. The staff is kind an joyful. One can really feel at home.

This Danubius Hotel is registered as a four star hotel, but in my eyes, the hotel is only valuing a 2 and half stars.
The service a very tip orientated one. If you don't tip enough you can wait of the service until the end of all times.
The massages and gym facilities are good, some very good. The doctor, who will allow the health treatment, is polite but following my experiences not knowledgeable enough. During a dispute with me, she wrote somthing which could cost her her approbation.
The food is eatable but not more.
At the beginning of this year I had a room where the carpet was full with biting insects and every minute stay in that hotel room amended more bites to my skin. no apologies no other room.....
My second stay in October/November was even worse. The room was without daylight. The window was small and a big tree infront of the window did not let normal daylight into the room. In the room it was so dark, that reading a book was impossible even when the lights were switched on.
because of the bad facilities in the hotel my health issues deteriorated.
I will never go there again.

The place is in a very nice setting. Spa and Sauna World is first class.
Now the list of items which make this place a 3.5 * instead a ****
Breakfast Coffey on a scale of 1-10 is 0!!!! You can get an espresso but pay for it!
If You desire a second room key You may get one ,but must deposit 10,000 HUF
Rooms and Bathrooms are small
Furniture is Socialist Antique and TV's are the same vintage.
Worst part is the lack of skills by the Management.
The complaints are handled by attempting to explain the problems away.
The place is to nice and the staff is very good. Find the right Management!!!!!!!
WIFI signal weak
