Extremely not friendly for children’s :-( No one attraction, for them , any program or special food menu , not polite service man pushing the children out side from the in door pool - because they are playing in the water- but according him this pool is only for swimming !!! During the diner food is serving in buffet style… NOT AL CARTE MENU !!! If you reserve this hotel and choose the payment in HUF you will pay less around 10% vs. prices in € - in official hotel www :-)))
This is my first, but hope not last stay in this hotel. 6 days gave me a chance to try almost all the treatments ( Beauty and wellness). Pools are great, specially if you go while all the guests are eating… an absolute must: body wraps with Thalion products. And body massage. Perfect getaway for a hard working mom of 3. I was looking for a reliable place to relax and detox at a fair price. And got it here. The room is beautiful and spacious. Restaurant worked perfect for me - even though am I gluten free and dairy free and dometimes have problems finding good food in hotels. I have red some comments below about ranking - well I am a frequent user of five star hotels all over Europe and Spirit levels it. And regarding the prices - if you try 5 star hotel in Spain, France or Italy - the difference is huge, let alone UK where 45 minutes massage can cost 160£ And the accomodation triples the price. Thank you Spirit for a wondeeful experience ( even though not all the personnel speaks English, I managed to comunicate and personnel is very friendly)…
Hungary is not normally on my lists of top countries to visit for vacation, as I prefer tropical climates and nearby oceans, but since all those countries I usually travel to, including my home country, are currently unwilling to allow for a vacation with all the usual amenities, including buffets, SPA operations etc., I decided to give Hungary a try, since they had lifted all restrictions from July 2021 onwards. And I was not disappointed, the Spirit Hotel as well as everything around it was in completely normal operations, and I had a very nice "SPA holiday experience". The suite on the 5th floor I stayed at was very nice, the breakfast and dinner buffets were good: If you like meat (like I do), you will find that in many forms and very deliciously prepared. Just don't go there if you are vegetarian, unless you intended to fast ;-) To name two minor points that could use improvement: The ambient sound in the SPA area is constantly clipping, as if some pre-amplifier is in overdrive from an inadequate input signal. The Sauna area could use a little more light and a better filtering/change of the water in the cold pool, which looks kind of murky on some evenings.…
I’m going to divide my review into different areas as the overall experience quite good but certainly needs massive improvement on different levels. This was a last minute booking directly through the hotel for only adults weekend. The reservation team was efficient and responded to my request within 60 minutes. There was no downpayment, the stay had to be cleared upon arrival and obviously the extras when we were leaving. I’m mentioning this because in Hungary a 2 night stay normally use to be cheaper. Many times I stay in 5 star hotels but this is a bit more expensive than the competition. Parking the car is on a fenced plot across the road what can accommodate at least 100-150 cars in the same time. Early birds can get a parking place closer to the gate and the hotel but those who arrive later have to walk through the area (I don’t think that’s an ideal situation on a rainy day - luckily we had clear sky during our stay) what might take 4-5 minutes with an average pace. Entering the lobby you immediately realise the quality, the designer top notch things. The reception staff was very polite and probably trained according to industry standards. Greeted us than while we were there he always called on my surname. It was not like in many hotels where they just call you sir or madam. Now lets talk about the staff - wherever we went in the facility we could see that these people are professionals on their fields. They know exactly what they do and most of the time they did the extra mile for us. The restaurant and the bars (lobby bar and the pool bar) have whatever you need. Food , beverages … simply excellent. The spa can offer a tranquil place for relaxation indoor and outdoor. Waiters and poolside staff were ready to create an atmosphere where we could switch off for at least a short period. This area was also simply … excellent. The only disappointment we had was the room. We booked a “premium” room… The price was premium but the quality barely reaching a 3 or 4 star room’s level. I understand that the rooms are not meant for staying longer hours in a facility like this and from our point of view it was just for sleeping because the whole hotel and spa experience was our main goal but still raises some issues. Before I jump deeper into details let me note that as per the hotel’s advertisement refurbishment of the rooms are going to be done by 2022. Couldn’t they just do it during the lockdown…hmmm? This raised our eyebrow. When we entered the room it gave us the feeling of a worn hotel room. Just a short list (some pics are attached): - chipped wall edges, - worn carpet - chipped furniture frames - it was dirt and dust under the bed - cal on the shower hinges - the bathroom floor had some stains on the floor what has been left there probably before us We requested housekeeping to clean up our room after the first night but they forgot to replace the towels (though we left them on the floor), the bin hadn’t been emptied in the bathroom. Something else what was a bit strange. They provided 2 worn children’s size bathrobes for an only adults weekend 🤣 but might have been a mistake…luckily it was sorted.…
Well I was not impressed at all… It is not adequate for 5 stars in my opinion ! Room 163 is muchmuch below the average , and It is like 3 stars at max! But it is not just the room that I disliked! I did not like the staff as well! I had to ask for cleaning because they did not do it themself The wellnes is good , but nothing exceptional. The food is also average, so there is not much to like about this place… I know I sound sour, but I am not! I think I am objective! This is an overpriced , old place with some possibilities that nobody really uses…
Being a return customer (this was our 9th stay), we were a bit worried, not having been for the 4 last years, what are we going to find following the unexpected and long, COVID closedown. We were truly positively surprised to see that much of the staff we knew earlier, were there, and the hotel has visibly renovated parts of the infratrsucture. The spa area is still exceptionally clean and spacious, the food choice was correct, the staff is extremely polite and well trained, the welness personel professional. A special thanks to Balláné Éva, for the massages and "Orsi and Móni" for keeping our room always tidy and well equipped. We have particularly appreciated the effort the hotel has taken to keep the staff during the difficult times. Being once again satisifed with the service, being a return customer, I take the liberty to just make a couple of suggestions. A minor, but sometimes bothering, detail we found was, that the numerous clocks in the establishment were not synchronised. As we tried to be on time for all treatments, sauna sessions, we were surprised that starting in time brought us to be ahead of time with a quarter of an hour sometimes. I do not think there is need for a central synchronization, but perhaps once a day somebody could just go around with a mobile phone, and set the times. We also remarked that despite a lot of renovation we saw was done, but the wooden tiling around the thermal outdoor pool is coming loose, and being in slippers, I almost fell a couple of times. I think it deserves a renewal. And finally, the "Kings massage" therapy, no longer available, is really missed not by us only, as we heard. Perhaps it would be worth to reintroduce it. We look forward to our 10th "anniversary" stay soon, although I see the loyalty system has changed, since our first stay in 2009. Donát Kiss and Judit Márta dr.…
First of all. It’s not a 5 star hotel. Maybe a 4. The most shocking thing is that during a Covid period they keep the buffet dinner with the guests touching without protections all the spoons and forks. Wherever in Europe, buffet dinner was cancelled. Maybe for Hungarians is a high quality hotel, but once you traveled in big cities in the world you will understand that this is not a 5 stars. In a 5 stars hotel the cuisine should be excellent, not here. I repeat any attention to Covid protocol, but of course Hungarians do not pay attention at all. Because they don’t give a s**t. Really really expensive like Marina by the bay in Singapore, but it’s not the same. I paid less in Dubai for a hotel like this. They came to knock at 9.30 in the morning while we were sleeping to ask what we used from Minibar... is it normal ? If it would be a 4 stars and it would cost less I could understand. The only good thing is the Spa, but for the rest the service is really low level. Like many things in Hungary. So let’s improve guys... Bye…
I have stayed in the hotel for my birthday with my husband. Spent two days there. Hospitality was fantastic. Rooms are also fairly big with a great balcony. Wellness was also divine along with the taste and choice of food. 5 star for a reason!
We stayed here for 5 days. General feeling: nice hotel with very good, big, clean wellness facilities, spacious rooms, general service and food. Beyond the wellness nothing special or extra to mention. The negative points: poor quality WiFi in the rooms, frequent maintenance works (during 5 days we saw at least 5 notification tables of maintenance works in different parts of the hotel). We expected different from 5 star hotel
We started our days with a great breakfast in the beautiful winter garden. There are really nice selection of hot and cold dishes. My favorite was the spicy grill sausage with scrambled eggs. My wife preferred sunbathing among the trees while our sons spent their time in the amazingly big pool. I had 40 minutes, 2 km swimming every day in the inside swimmingpool. After that I moved with my sons in the different pools in order to enjoy different water activities/programs. We had a launch in the beach bar. It was one of the weak points of the hotel. Nice surroundings but average food which was a little bit overpriced. Later we moved back in to the pools. My wife had a session in the gym 2 times during the week and the gym is really well equipped. We went out once for a nice running around the lake which is exactly next to the hotel. Dinners were just great, tasty dishes and good wines. However I should say that drinks were obviously expensive.…
