AMAZING LITTLE HOTEL !!! Beautiful location ! We have stayed here for 1 night I wish it was more . They looked after us soo well. We came in to drop the luggages off and have a look around in the city. I made a mistake with the booking instead of 2 people I only booked for 1 , so we were a little worried what will happen as it was fully booked . By the time we came back to the hotel to check in the lovely receptionist (wish I knew her name because she was very helpful and friendly ) said she managed to get us a room for 2. The rooms view was beautiful ! The bed was super comfy, the room was very clean and spotless so does the commune areas . The next day the breakfast was delicious and refreshing and waiters were friendly and attentive. Can’t wait to stay here again ! Thank you again for this amazing experience.…
We stayed here for two nights while wine tasting in Eger. What a lovely spot. We had a nice little apartment (room 6 - although not so great for my husband who is 6’5” because we were on the top floor and the ceilings slanted. Glad he survived.). This is a lovely location with parking for guests (for an extra charge). Quite a bargain and a lovely place.
What a lovely pleasant surprise. The hotel is situated just by the castle on the cobbled section. Parking for the hotel is a few metres prior to it, behind a garage door. Parking underneath the hotel will cost about £5. But parking there saves so much hassle. The hotel and room were absolutely lovely, along with the hotel staff. I couldn't fault my stay at all. Though the hotel would have got 5 stars (excellent) if there was a little more choice for breakfast. e.g. fruit, cheeses and some other jams. But what a great stay.
The hotel is perfectly located at the foot of the castle, within easy reach of all the sights of Eger. It is very relaxing to sit out on the terrace in the evening and watch the city lights. You can feel that the owners love running the hotel. For example when we checked in we found Imola's own chocolate on the bed :)
An ideal base for exploring Eger and the surrounding area, within walking distance of bus and train stations and pretty much all the tourist attractions, coupled with two of the best restaurants in town, (booking pretty much essential). Friendly helpful staff, and clean, comfy rooms. If you're coming from the UK like us also incredible value for money. There are cheaper bars in town but the quality here is exceptional.
Very nice hotel with friendly staff. It’s a perfect hotel to spend couple of days in Eger ,or a weekend. Very good located ,with a beautiful view to the Egri castle. I can only recommend it for anyone who would like to escape in a romantic place .It has also a good restaurant with some Hungarian specialties. Free underground parking is available.
I stayed at the Imola Udvarhaz Dessert Hotel for a weekend trip to Eger while spending a month in Budapest. The hotel is a great value, rooms are nice and the balcony perfect to sit & drink a glass of wine on in the evening. The staff were all pleasant & helpful, plus breakfast was included. 5/5, will stay here again next time I am in Eger.
The location is really fantastic, quiet, the room is very good, clean and tidy, the restaurant is fine, the breakfast is also very good, fresh, tasty. Friendly staff. The design is attractiv. Convenient for families or singles, good atmosphere at all. Thanks!
Eger is a lovely little town well worth a visit, especially if you plan to enjoy the thermal baths, but stay somewhere else unless you want to pay to be insulted. While our room was fine and breakfast was adequate, I only recall one person on staff cracking a smile. But the worst was when we were kicked out of breakfast because our time was up. Having traveled to Europe as many as 4 times per year for the past few decades, we typically join breakfast anywhere from 30-60 minutes before the prescribed ending time and enjoy a leisurely time of eating, chatting, checking mail and news-something we rarely get to do when we’re home. It’s a joy to us. Oftentimes we are finishing our coffee after breakfast time is over and food has been cleared and that’s fine with us. We like having our mornings. But at the Imola, once breakfast time was over we were told we had to leave the dining room even though we hadn’t finished our food! We were unceremoniously kicked out - told, “Breakfast is over. You have to leave.” When we gently complained we were not offered any kind of apology but rather given the same message by an unpleasant person at the front desk. Having stayed in 100s of European establishments since1982 we have NEVER had this happen. I still can’t believe they didn’t apologize. But given how unpleasant everyone was while we were there I probably shouldn’t be surprised. These people clearly hate their jobs. AVOID!…
The hotel is in a good location close to the castle walls. Good reception on arrival with a map and key to attractions provided. The room had a balcony overlooking the town and castle, it was equipped with TV and a refrigerator with small mini bar. However there was no air conditioning or a fan, no toiletries except for two small bars of soap and you have to request a hairdryer. The bedroom has just a standard business class appearance with no unusual of attractive features, certainly not the ‘Boutique Hotel' as described. It had an odd configuration with lots of wasted space in the separate wardrobe/dressing area, the space around the bed was very limited despite the bed itself being small. We did not find the beds or pillows to be particularly comfortable. The shower in the bathroom is over the bath and the bathroom furniture was chipped.. Breakfast was a limited standard offering with only 3 precooked hot items available, no eggs are cooked to order. For us the stay was just about ok but we would question ‘the top ten hotels in Hungary’ claimed by the hotel, all other hotels we stayed in during our stay in Hungary and Slovcakia were far superior to this. It is adequate for a stay in town but would not describe it as anything like ‘boutique’.…
