When I first stepped in the hostel, my first impression was like one of those old french apartment buildings you see in the movies.

The rustic aesthetic of the hallway was charming. At the end I sore a
spiral staircase leading to all the floors and an old lift, which at first glance, I assumed that I would be met with a person asking me which
floor I would like to go to. Unfortunately, this is the 21st century and not the 1950s. Twas not meant to be. When I rose in the lift
and stopped at the reception floor a large jolt personally scared the s*** out of me. Though after and few trips, the daredevil in me started to enjoy the rush - not of impending doom per say, but definitely something close. Tell you're friends how cool I am, yeah?

My encounter at the reception was lovely. The lady at the desk was very kind and informative. Shout out to my gals.

The hostel shared section was pretty good. Having your a shared kitchen and running water was a nice touch - but that's a whole other story.

The view from our window was spectacular. With the city of Budapest gently roaring by, the trams passing through. Just made me think, Who are we?

The bedrooms themselves were alright. I hadn't been in a bunk bed since i was a wee nipper. As a growing boy who enjoys his sleep I would not recommend. As with any movement in a not so sturdy structure, it will shake, and it will terrify you.

No I am not lost in the irony that the lift gave me a rush, and the top bunk of a bed terrified me.

We had a lovely stay for 2 nights. The room was clean and even had a kitchenette, which we didn't expect. It was walking distance from the city centre and had good connections overall, so perfect for a short stay.

2 different rooms , both i was eaten by bed bugs. If you check on booking there are lot of cases of bed bugs. On the second night i had to sleep on a broked bed. After my second night i had to move to another place without sleept for almost 2 nights. They said they care about the issue but the rooms were i sleept whith the bugs were not closed when i left. I said i was not moving from there without my 100% money back and at the beggining they did not wanted to accept till i said that i was going to call booking.com. Teenergers managing the please.

The location of the hostel is great, being near to various transportation modes. There are also many activities held which will suit travelers looking to make new friends. Free dinners are also available on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

However, during my stay in the all-female dorm in room 207, I was bitten by bed bugs. I had more than 15 bites in total and I had to visit a doctor due to an unfortunate infection of the bites. For reference, a visit to the clinic cost 200 euros for a non-EU visitor.

While incidents with bed bugs are often subject to luck, and may be brought in by the high traffic of travelers in the hostel, the response to bed bug complaints by the hostel needs to be improved on. I only received a “aww, I’m sorry” look when I informed the reception of seeing a bed bug on my second morning there. A proactive suggestion such as a change of bedsheets at the very least would have been appreciated. It was only at my asking of a repellent of some sort that two boxes of left-behind items were brought out for my searching of something suitable. Also, I showed the reception my bed bug bites before I left the hostel, and I only received more "awww, I'm sorry" looks.

Standalone bed bug incidents may seem like a small issue initially but when unmonitored, it can manifest into a larger infestation very quickly. If one refers to the hostel's google page, there have been more than a few complaints of bed bugs in the last month and should render further action by the hostel.

Aside from that, the room I stayed in (room 207) was generally clean, although there was quite abit of dust at the side shelves by the bed. And the drainage in that room's bathroom wasn't very good as I would be standing in a pool of water at end of a shower.

Interrailing Europe and this was our stop in Budapest. We strongly agree that this is the best hostel we’ve ever tried so far. Friendly workers, clean areas, lots of social events, nice location and well organized rooms. Really great place to meet people but also got room to just be yourself.

This is a very nice hostel, had a great stay with 3 friends. Lovely staff, breakfast & dinner and close to stuff. Beds are decent, a little annoying with metal bars (look out for your head!), but other than that very comfortable.

The hostel is lively, run down, but in a charming kind of way. It is a converted apartment building. The layout of each floor is nice, each has it's own small lounge and kitchenette in addition to the common area/kitchen in the lobby. There are extra showers/toilettes in the lobby which is also a plus.

The location is on a busy lively street, walking distance or short commute via public transport of many main attractions. Navigation from the train station was super simple, just a quick bus ride and <5 minute walk to the hostel. It is a little tricky to see, but once you see the Starbucks just know you are a few feet away and that should help you find it. Facing towards Starbucks, the hostel is on the right side.

Having said all this I would absolutely not recommend this hostel for hot months. My room was listed as including air conditioning but there was none. It was so extremely hot in my top bunk bed that I only slept 30 minutes and woke up thinking I might have heat exhaustion and need to visit a hospital if I were to stay there for 8 hours overnight. I asked to change rooms and the receptionist was helpful, though it's the fault of the hostel owners. The new room did not have air conditioning either, though it was tolerable because no one had checked into that room yet so I chose the bottom bunk closest to the window and placed a large fan next to it. Overall I hardly got any sleep and when I did it wasn't long before the piercing early morning summer sun woke me up because this new room had no curtains. Someone also stole a food gift I had purchased (and yes I labeled it with my name and date and closed the bag with the sticker label closing the seam). The housekeeper removed my charger/adapter even though it was known I had to change rooms. Luggage storage is in the lobby close to the entrance, accessible by anyone, so don't keep anything remotely valuable there.

Would def. not have booked this place had they been honest that no air conditioning exists there and that a fan that reaches limited parts of the rooms does not count as air conditioning.

Booking this hostel turned into a huge hassle and impeded on my short Budapest stay.

From what I know the 4 beds Ensuite bedroom is € 17.60 per person per night. They have some Double room with double bed. But the price is not disclosed. My guess is it could be around €20.00 euros per person. The Bathroom is next to your room. Best to book the 4 beds ensuite, and you and your partner, could just be the only people in the room. The price will still be only €17.60 euros for each of you. Checking is from 14.00 pm and checkout is 11.00 am. Breakfast is free from 7.30 am till 11.00 am. Hope this is of some help to your plan.
