Amazona stay. Clean rooms. Had an extension without any problems. I will definitely come in the futuro very good and cool staff especially Nikola amazing location as well. Budapest is also a beautiful city worth visito.

Good location, great breakfast, more cheese would be great, atmosphere is good, staff is nice, Nikola especially, it was my first time here, but it was very pleasant surprise.I would probably come back here in the future.

The staff was super helpful sepcially Ancsa and nikola they help me a lot during my one week stay in the hostel and the hostel was comfortable and clean. They have good facility and they even have computers to use if u need it might come up handy.

Good and very central location. Hostel is very clean and well maintained. Shout-out to Nikola and Ancsa! One of my first time staying in hostels; was very pleasant surprise. They organize dinners and activities as well.

Be VERY careful booking a stay here. So for starters I arrived and true photos are very misleading. The showers full of hair and not clean, the building itself is a lot of walking up and the space is not in the best condition. But then the form which is not advertised on any photos, was in a tight 8 bed block style and ONE fan in the corner that only reached one bed. When you requested another fan because there is no AC, they said they give just one to each dorm room. When I requested a refund to find a more habitable space I was told I could only receive a final night in that they then said I could not stay for the two nights they would still charge me. Needless to say I’m stuck here for a total of three nights. Or I pay double what I lose here and elsewhere. So be VERY mindful…

The place is tidy, comfortable, very colorful, which makes your stay happy and welcoming. The stuff is super nice, helpful at all times. The location is perfect, you can find any kind of shops, restaurants in a walking distance and if you want to use the public transportation, you also have many options nearby.

The food is very terrible, breakfast is poor. Bathrooms are not sufficient for all the people in the hostel and they’re not 1 for a room, but 1 for a floor. Poor cleaning. Noisy hostel, food in the room with people chewing all the time, poor hygiene, windows are always shut and you can hear people sneezing and blowing their nose all the time (not good for corona virus, considering they don’t even check your green pass). Needed some water but couldn’t buy it cause they don’t accept cards, cash only. So we had to wait until the morning. Don’t come here!!!

Me and my boyfriend were given used beds (just before coronavirus exploit!!). When asking for a refund the receptionist didn't care at all. Moreover the communication is not good, looks like they don't speak to each other.

Two friends were staying at this hostel and 2 days ago they got drugged by a guest and stole from them 400 Euros on of the lockers and 600 Euros from the pillow of my other friend. We went to the police and the police even awere us to not go to this hostel because there are lot of same reported cases.

Dear Juliana, we are really sorry to hear what's happened to your friends. However please note that buying illegal drugs from a stranger is not a good idea, regardless you are in Budapest, in New York, in Berlin or in any other city. Using the illegal drug you bought from a stranger is even worse idea. Keeping 600 EUR under the pillow in a dormitory room is also not the best idea, I'm afraid, especially when you are affected by drugs. Also if you don't close your locker then it won't provide a really good protection for your valuables. Avenue Hostel is well equipped with security features: we have security cameras in all the corridors and all the puclic areas as well as at the entrance of the hostel, all of our doors are locked and can be only opened with key card, moreover our staff is trained to spot suspicious people and suspicious activities. We also provide 2 lockers for each guest and we provide padlocks if you don't have your own. Probably that's why 99.999% of our guests never experienced any security issue in Avenue Hostel, and this fact will remain a fact regardless that you and your friends write 3 posts here, all about the same issue. Obviously there are no security cameras inside of the room so in case of unattended valuables are disappearing from the room the only thing our staff can do is the recording of corridor security cameras to the police along with all the information they have about the issue. I believe a similar issue should be handled similar by the staff anywhere in the world. We trully hope that you and your friends will only have positive experiences during your future trips.
