The Alfa Art is a well managed, welcoming hotel on the outskirts of Budapest. It is located on the banks of the Danube . The running/walking/bicycle path which links Budapest with the scenic town of Szentendre is literally right out back. The staff is multilingual and always willing to take the time to help. There is a breakfast buffet with lots of choice and a restaurant. Have the fruit soup!
The only drawback is location. Public transportation is nearby (bus and commuter train). Reception sells tickets. Takes about 30 minutes to get to downtown Budapest (Deak Ter).

This was the second time I stayed in this hotel, both visits lasted 4 days and were equally satisfying:reasonable price, very clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff. The second time I made the booking on booking.com because it was a considerable difference, I suggest you always check this option, too. Breakfast is good, the staff is flexible and make you whatever food you like, juice isn't very good. Pay attention to the room you get in winter, avoid the last floor, in case you are not satisfied for whatever reason with the room they are very flexible and will try to change it. There's free parking, sauna, and some cute cats, maybe that's why the whole stay is more pleasant. If you want to go to the city centre you get there by bus(20 min)+underground(10min), you have the bus station very close to the hotel.
All in all if you are looking for a simple, quiet, very clean hotel with good food, friendly and helpful staff at a reasonable price this is the hotel I would always return to.

After researching numerous hotel options in the area, I booked at Alfa Art Hotel, just outside the city and am glad I did. We had a rental car, so the 15 minute drive to the city wasn't an issue. The hotel is clean, pleasant, quaint and cozy. The staff is wonderful and helpful. Rooms are a bit small, but very clean. The breakfast was great and filling. The views are amazing. I'm already looking forward to staying there again in the spring.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights over new year hoping to bring in the new year at the street party in the city. Unfortunately you have to travel over an hour, 7 stops on the bus followed by 7 stops on the train followed by 2 stops on the Metro, to get to the centre of Budapest. It is therefore not best placed for a late evening when the last bus home at the end of your journey is at 10:55. However the first train starts at 5am so after the pub closed we only had about a 30 minute walk and 2 hours to wait at the train station before joining many other revellers on the first train home. It was either that or £70 for a taxi (don't believe the tenner they tell you at reception). I know it was NYE but still, it was a bit pricey.
On the plus side, thankfully the hotel were extremely obliging by allowing us to extend our checkout until mid afternoon so we could catch up on some sleep before starting on our laborious trek back to the airport.
I have to say though, the Budapest public transport is second to none, everything runs on time & if you get a city travel pass you can use it on all trams, buses, trains, trolleys, metros any time of day or night. Essential if you're this far out of town. The city itself is also well worth a visit with lots of things to do & places to see.
The Hotel itself was clean, organised, newly decorated and the breakfast was good, plenty of hot & cold buffet style. Under different circumstances it would be a nice place to stay away from the hustle bustle of the city. I just wish they made it clearer on their website exactly how far away they really are.

We stayed in hotel in the begining of december. I have to say it is clean, staff is nice, lobby looks ok, big parking lot, they have an elevator.

Rooms are small, dormitory type. Bathroom is realy small, hard to move inside it.

If i compare price to to what you get I can say you can not expect much more. I traveled with an agency so I expected something like that.

I would rather choose hostel (price is comparable) closer to the center, this hotel is to far for a city break turists.

Just one big minus - thay had a private party so we couldn’t use the restaurant for the dinner. We had to go back to the city, but we planed it anyway. It is not ok for those who were planing to have a dinner in hotel and then go to bed. If you market a restaurant it should be open.

My advice ... stay if you are on low budget and if you dont mind the distance from the center.

We stayed here last April and are planning to go back this year. Set on the banks of the Danube the hotel offers peace, calm & serenity with easy & convenient access to the bustle of Budapest City. The staff are brilliant - very freindly & welcoming and can't do enough for you (even leaving a little gift for me for my birthday) They really went the extra mile to make our stay special. The rooms are very pleasant and clean (ours had a river view) and and the hotel is very comfortable. The transport links are good and run until about 11-12pm.We liked being a bit outside the ciry and it didn't interfere with our sightseeing plans. In fact a 40 min walk along the river finds a smashing selection of riverside bars and restaueants frequnted by the locals. . You wont find that in the city Centre! And if it couldnt be any better - there's even a loveable little hotel cat. Definitely worth a trip.

It says It s a hôtel restaurant. On our arrival tuesday late afternoon, thé restaurant was closed and WE had to eat kebab in a greasy kebab 800m out of thé hôtel.
As WE had 2 nights in the same hôtel, WE ordered early morning for thé diner to help with thé foof providing. No steak no fish nothing but pork chops and chicken.
About thé room one picture will get you an Idea.
Not mentioning about their lack of enthusiasm and their ear to ear welcome large smiles.

This hotel is outside of Budapest city in a quiet residential area ,on the banks of the Danube, with a good view of the river. The rooms are well heated with a good size shower, and nice hot water. Clean sheets and towels everyday during our long weekend stay.
We used the restaurant and found the food very good and very reasonably priced. Breakfast was continental buffet with a good selection. On the morning we left (party of 6), they even prepared us a packed breakfast. Very nice and helpful staff. If we ever visit Budapest again we would not hesitate to stay here. Because this hotel is about 40 minutes outside the city it is very easy to use the bus service and metro, and us senior citizens even got free travel on the bus and metro, just by showing our passport. Wonderful.

Staying at Alfa Art hotel is like spending time with family. Staff is very friendly and they go out of their way to meet your needs. They are happy to work with you whether you are organizing an event or just spending some leisure time.
The food is faboluous and plenty.
The scenery, with the Danube flowing right at your foot is stunning.
The one drawback is the long commute to get to the city center, though public transportation is readily available.

We stayed there for 2 nights (we choosed this hotel because of a internet coupon - 99 € for two nights with breakfast).
+ : parking
nice garden

- : room was not enough clean (few cobwebs...)
in the bathroom crumbling paint
far from the centrum (50 min. with the public traffic transport)

Breakfast was ok - nothing special. All in all it was ok for the two nights.
