The hotel is situated 2km from the city centre, and will take 25mins walking to get there. There's a shopping centre and a square with shops and restaurants within 50m of the hotel. A taxi from the airport will cost about £22.
The hotel itself is a bit tatty, and the reception staff seemed put out to have to attend to us. They also covered the bar as well as reception, but I'd compare this to a home bar. The selection of drinks is VERY limited, and again, it seemed like a chore to be served.
Our room had a mini bar with some basic drinks and chocolate bars, and some coffee making facilities. We stayed 4 days, and neither of these were replenished, and although room service did make our beds each day, they didn't do anything else.
Our shower head kept falling off, the heating system was stuck on 'bloody warm' (there was a radiator in the actual shower too!) and the 'fast wifi' was slower than a 14.4k dial up modem. (Yeah, we're old, haha) The free breakfast was adequate, with a decent selection, and had a cooked offering, although don't expect a full English.
In conclusion, if budget is absolutely your overriding factor, then go for it, but, the location, poor service, poor wi-fi and general condition of the hotel means we'd look for somewhere else should we ever return.

The only slight downside was that the double bed was two single beds pushed together other than that the room was a big size and the shower was a walk in shower. Would stay here again.
Electrics failed us twice within 10minutes and we were moved rooms with no fuss.
2nd room was identical to the first (but without the electrics blowing).
Twin beds - comfortable, room was basic but had everything you need. Mini bar should you choose to use it. Tea/ coffee - no decaf coffee or hot chocolate sachets though. For a decaf coffee drinker this was disappointing as most hotels cater for this as standard.
Shower was very good. Good water pressure great temperature. Free soap, body wash/shampoo for those that don't travel with them.
Our 2nd room had a leaking sink - quite a big leak off the waste and we had to use our shower towels to mop it up. 1st morning we asked for extra towels to cater for this. They didn't arrive. 2nd morning we asked again and they did. We reported it and they noted the issue but did advise they couldn't fix it immediately. Not an issue for us but I expect the next people will have the same issue as it wasn't new and there is no way the cleaners couldn't see what was happening when removing the towels/cleaning.
Breakfast was interesting. The breakfast room was clean and tidy. All the reviews here rave about the food. However for us it was the hot food offer was all a bit odd and not hot. Luke warm baked beans and sweetcorn mix or meatballs with an optional tomato pepper and onion mix or potato wedges aren't really our idea of breakfast.
They have breads/cakes/meat and cheese available as well as cereals. I ended up eating cold boiled egg on toast and a waffle with jam on (no chocolate sauce or anything available).
Again no decaf option in the coffee machines in the dining room.
There is a bar but its small and more a convenience than a bar. It's also expensive and seating extends from the reception area. However it does have Power sockets and WiFi so you could use the area as a great working zone.
We bought drinks from the fuel station opposite for half the price and the staff leant us their bottle opener from the bar.
Hotel staff were very good, very friendly, very helpful. Cannot fault them
Location. Great transport links or 40 minute walk to city centre. Full shopping centre and restaurants on its doorstep 2 min walk.
Overall a nice hotel. Good location. Would return but i would try and find somewhere with a different breakfast first.
I've scored a 3 because it would have been "good" but it wasn't an option.
Breakfast was delicious. Lots of choice, good quality ingredients. Plenty of juice and hot drinks. Nice informal dining area.
Location was good, approx 5 min walk to main tram route, Margaret bridge was approx 10 min journey and lots of areas easily accessed from there. Download the BudapestGO app before travelling it simplifies buying tickets. You need to link your passport to it but easily done. You can then either purchase single tickets or day passes as needed.
Reception/bar staff were so helpful and friendly, providing us with lots of information and advice. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

When we first arrived on Thursday evening we were greeted by a rather unfriendly employee who barely said hello, gave us our ‘key’ and that was about it. He looked pretty put out to have to deal with us. The rest of the staff throughout our stay were perfectly fine though.
Our room (601) was okay but a few things let it down. The shower head wouldn’t stay in place, always falling to its lowest position. The room was really hot with no obvious means to turn the heat down and it really could’ve done with a usb port socket or two.
The cleaners also didn’t replace the coffee sachets when we used them.
The corridor outside was also really dark and cluttered with stacked chairs.
Breakfast was pretty good and well stocked with most things. Sure there might’ve been the odd unexpected items (broccoli and beetroot) but everything else was the usual continental breakfast affair.
The hotel is quite well situated, only being a 20 minute walk to Liberty Bridge and all the bars a restaurants in that area.
So basically, if you’re looking for a fairly cheap comfortable room, without any thrills, for a short stay in Budapest this place is fine. If you’re looking for a little more from your hotel, you might want to consider an alternative.

Don't expect anything extra from the hotel, 4 stars are quite out of line in my opinion, the hotel gave the impression that it didn't care about everything and didn't solve anything.
But the cleaning was perfect, every day a made bed and a perfectly cleaned room await you, maybe they forget to give you towels, but that's a small thing.
I can't fault the hotel, but you definitely can't expect anything more from the hotel than accommodation.
