CityInn is normally - cordially speaking - a very good hotel worth their reputation as “great”, however, based upon their rating / approval of 4*, remarks and praises from friends and travellers alike, I am bitterly disappointed by the standard of systematic service. In other...More
A fabulous hotel right central to everything. Room was lovely and had everything you needed from tea and coffee facilities and a mini bar.
Breakfast was lovely every morning and room was cleaned every day.
Staff were fantastic and very friendly and helpful
Stayed here from 7th of October to 12th and found it served our purpose very well. We were travelling as two couples and the hotel had thought to unlock the interconnecting door between the adjoining rooms. A nice touch. The room was very large for this...More
The hotel is a 2 minute walk away from the metro so it's in a great location. The room was modern, clean and nicely decorated. Staff were friendly and the buffet breakfast was great. I cannot fault this hotel so I would highly recommend.
This hotel is modern, not quaint in any way. Reception service is excellent throughout and knowledgeable.
My room was more than adequate with bath and shower and a good supply of complimentary toiletries.
Breakfast was good, plentiful and varied. Hard to get boiling water to...More

Sorry, unable to help. I don't know where that would be if it is set up specially. Do you have an address for the Christmas Market? Suggestion. Get google Earth and mark both the Hotel and the Christmas Market. If you don't have an address, ask your travel agent, I'm sure they will know. Further suggestion, if the Christmas Market is a separate place from the main shopping area, don't miss the chance to go down to Vaci Utca. Pedestrianised street and a nice meander with lots of shps and the main town market at the south end of the street with some very upmarket, high quality (and expensive!) shops at the northern end (toward the parliament/ Four Seasons Hotel) I've had a quick look on Google, sorry. Tried to post a link. It won't let me do that, but the name of the venue is Vörösmarty Square
If you're reasonably fit, I would estimate about 20-25 mins to walk. The hotel staff would help with directions and probably a map. They have free give away maps. Come out of the front door, turn right and first corner, about 60-70 yards (Metres!) right again and follow that street. Ask in a shop, English widely spoken, if your map reading hasn't got you quite where you want to be. Hope that's some help. Enjoy your trip. :)

I recommend you to change currency only at the official places that have publicated exchange rates (banks, change offices, hotels, travel agencies). It is illegal and very risky to excahnge money in the streets, I do not recommend it at all. If you want to exchange foreign currency to Forint they apply the buying rate. Some change offices are tricky because they display the sell rate first, which is the higher rate, so be very cautious. It is allowed to apply commission, and the change offices usually do use commission, which is 0,2-0,3%. One of the best rates in the city is at the Correct Change offices. The closest office is 10-15- minutes walking distance from our hotel. (1085 József körút 40.)
I do not suggest you to exchange (buy) Forint in your home country, because the rate is much better in Hungary. Generally the rates are better in the currency exchange offices than in the banks in Hungary. There are lot of excange offices at the centre. In the shopping centers the exchange rates are worse than in the city centre.
If you fly from abroad we recommend you to change currency after your arrival to Budapest city centre, but not in the Ferihegy airport! We never advice to change any money in the airport terminals because the difference can be 15-20% compare to the official rates at the city centre.
I hope this information will help you.
