I stayed here a couple of days in 2013, and it's one of my best hostel experiences so far. Arrived by bike in the middle of the night after a 10 hour trip through Hungary. The night staff were really friendly and helpful (I even got a beer!). The rooms are ok but the location is excellent and the staff is great, I got a lot of help from them. They helped me find a store where I could buy wrapping for my bike to my flight home (that was open on a national holiday). Fixed a cab that could carry the bike. And they also gave me pro tips for the Budapest nightlife (went far away from the tourist streets, pubs and clubs). All in all, a great place to stay and meet other people!

This was my first time staying in a hostel. I was traveling with my friend - both of us are female, 26. We stayed in a private room for 2. Overall this place feels like you're crazy distant relative who loves cats said, "sure come stay with me while you travel through europe!" The place is very eclectic in terms of decor and had a super homey feeling. Everyone was pleasant and pretty much kept to themselves. This is NOT a party hostel -- which is what we were looking for. What I enjoyed most was the "self serve" like feeling - if you needed new towels, you grabbed them, there was no curfew and no one minded if you brought back friends/ guests. If you have one of the private rooms, they do overlook the inner courtyard where there is a very popular local bar. Finding the place is a bit of a trick but the description on their website was accurate: big brown graffiti covered door about 6 doors in on the block. The square out front was adorable and hosted at least 6 restaurants to eat at. The one on the corner was super yummy and modern feeling while the restaurant on the other corner / end of the block had a hidden roof top and super cheap yes amazing food. About a 5 minute walk away was a EU style grocery store that was perfect for breakfast - bananas, yogurt, waters, power bars. Best thing was the proximity to the trains / busses. Multiple lines were only a 5 minute walk.

I loved the place. It is exactly how it is described on the website and looks in the photos. When they say, "make yourself at home", they really mean it. The staff was super helpful. Not only did they make my itinerary for the 2 days, I was there. They suggested great places to eat, hang out, walk around, book reservations for a play but also book a cab at an early hour in the morning. The reception was available 24*7. I highly recommend this place and is in a very safe area. I will stay here when I visit again!!!! Thanks guys!!

This is hands down my favorite hostel in the whole world. I stayed here about three weeks in two different dorms and one of the private rooms with my boyfriend. It's really the greatest hostel. The staff is incredible, very chill people, nice to talk to, super helpful, all around amazing. Everything is really clean but it has this really cool rustic vibe. The location is pretty great, right by the tram and the metro so you can get anywhere in the city. There bars and restaurant in the front and the back so there's always a light buzz of conversation that most people I've talked to find enjoyable but if you're a light sleeper this may be a difficulty for you, I personally like it AND the bars in the area are super chill. Its also walking distance to most of the good nightlife as well as some baths, the citdel, etc. You can get laundry done for 5/kilo oh and they have a very nice kitchen with a quirky stove, where you can meet pretty much everyone in the place.

Great location, nearby a place with many restaurants, bars (live music), shops, etc. Friendly and helpful staff. Very cool designed (every room, even in the shower..!). We enjoyed our stay absolutely.
