We stayed there for a night, and almost all the time we were walking in the city so we didn't stay that much time at the hotel. But for the price we paid, it was pretty decent. But you have to pay 10 euros for the garage, and the breakfast was decent.

It was a nice and pleasant hotel. The staff was helpful and easy to gain information from them. Rooms are okay and the breakfast was quite good. It was healthy and filling. I think I will return in the close future.

One star hotel at best. Only cleaning they did in the room was to empty the bathroom bin once in 4 days! Beds not made, bathroom not cleaned. No tea/coffee facilities, no fixing for shower so had to be hand held. Not close to any amenities or the centre. Would not return.

It was very hot when we arrived, the room was small but clean, however the noise from the road was incredibly loud and there was no air-conditioning or even a fan. Went to reception at 1am when we were still awake due to the noise, but when we shut the window we felt like we were suffocating. Were told that... More

Initial glance the hotel seemed to be decent and presentable. Came here for a one night stay booked a room for 4 people, the initial room that was given stank of dampness and paint could be near to be in room for more than 10 minutes so we requested a room change, which was free of charge but then the... If you can afford paying a bit more on your accommodation, than you should definitely search for a different hotel. We stayed at Bara Junior Hotel, for 5 nights, and the highlights of our experience were the location and the view. The room that we got was at the top floor, I guess that happened because I specified the fact... More

Location - we found out it is a nice walk to the Buda castle or Fisherman´s Bastion, so you don´t have to take a bus, if you don´t have aproblem with 30min walking. :) Next to the hotel there is cool old-school pub - we sat outside, they have a big screen there (we stayed in Budapest during EURO 2016,... Underground (safe) parking. Good service. Nice prices. The room was clean and nice. There were nothing special in it but we didn't expect anything either. A clean, cozy bed and a TV was all we needed for the night. The breakfast was included. There was a great variety of things to eat. Everything I tried tasted great too. The building... More

Not the friendliest people we've met. Good value for good price. ..included a decent breakfast same every day...but ok. I do not recommend the coffee! They did not include hair conditioner or have any to give you. It was a bit out of the city Centre. Budapest is a beatific city with awesome river running through it.

Maybe it is the time to open a new page/sub-page to the new part of Hotel Bara, it is the Hotel Harmony. We spent two nights in this new section which is really good, European level, quality accommodation. What is important? - To find the hotel: - As others already indicated, the situation of the hotel is pretty good, easy... More

Staying in Gellert Hill

Neighborhood Profile
Gellert Hill
If you want to treat your camera to some amazing scenery, Gellért Hill is a must on your itinerary. A funicular journey from the Chain Bridge along the hillsides provides a fast connection between Buda and Pest, hoisting visitors to panoramic vistas. Once on top of the hill, you’ll find the Citadel dominate the landscape with its imposing 19th century construction, a site that’s hard to keep your eyes on without being distracted by the phenomenal view over the Danube and the eight bridges crossing. Once on Gellért Hill however, one mustn’t miss the famous Gellért Baths. Budapest is renown for its thermal waters and its baths, and the Gellért Baths are housed in an impressive art nouveau structure. Its interior design, with its many mosaics, recalls the preceding relationships the city has had with healing springs and saunas, traditionally used within this neighborhood since the Ottoman Empire.
