This hostel isn't great in terms of facilities, it has a small kitchen and a couple of showers, however the rooms are really nice. They're big and bright and the bunks are comfy. The location is really good - a v short walk to lots of lovely bars and restaurant and there is a restaurant literally next door that does really lovely gnocchi - bonus! It is kind of annoying getting into the building as you are required to ring up via the buzzer and then take a few flights of stairs to the entrance, which was quite hard to find. However, I enjoyed my stay here and would stay again if I was visiting.

It is located in the center of the city near the river. The entrance resides in beauty and very magician tenement house wich was built by a hungarian architect Ignac Alpar. Despite the kitchen and shower room are rather small you can feel at home. Prices are reasonable and bed are comortable and clean.

I was in Budapest, staying in Deak hostel at the beginning of May. I needed just one night to sleep somewhere so I choose this hostel because it was close to all 4 of metro lines, which is good. What is not good is not so good hygiene in bathroom, receptionist did not know english, he barely understood me.

As soon as we were inside the hostel (which had no window in the door by the way because the guy who showed us in just easily put his arm through to unlock the door and let us in) the guy went through our details of booking etc and was slightly moody. We were shown into our bedroom which was a big bedroom with several beds laid out. The guy let my friend and I stay together in the bunkbed in the corner which we appreciated but the beds weren't made and we awkwardly stood watching while he made it as we just wanted to crash and sleep straight away. The vibe around the hostel was just creepy. There was a seemly semi-permanent girl living at a bed opposite us who was friendly enough but another girl was roaming the halls and in our room constantly crying. Finally a bit of normality arrived when a group of travellers were there but then they started getting weird too but not the hostel's fault. I asked the guy if I could wash my clothes and he said he would do it for me and would charge me but it took about 5 hours and 3 times me reminding him until he actually started putting my clothes in the machine! The showers were small but okay. No room to get changed though and the toilets were basic and tiny. My friend and I are deaf and can't hear on the phone and the second guy staff on the last day refused to phone a taxi for us so we had to go out in the dark alone and lost finding a bus stop until we gave up after a group of drunk men kept pestering us and luckily found a taxi. The only positive thing I have to say about this hostel is the location- near the metro station so easy access to popular places such as the thermal baths and Buda Castle etc. And I suppose the bed was comfy enough and the wifi was free.

This hostel is in a great location. You can't expect too much for how much you are paying for. The rooms are very clean and there is everything you need. Staff were very friendly and helpful. It is slightly loud at night due to the location but that is to be expected when being in the town centre. The only down side was the card machine was broken so we had to pay cash. Also take into account there are more than 20 people showing and going to the toilet every morning so it won't be spotless every minute of the day, the staff cleaned when necessary.

I stayed in this hostel for 4 days in June 2015. The hostel is in a great location opposite Deak Ferec Park. A short walk to the areas of interest and the Danube river. The hostel is quite hard to find and has no signage or advertising. I only found the hostel due to a word of mouth recommendation from a friend. It is located in an old residential block. The hostel is quiet and peaceful and I had a 5 bed dorm to myself over the days I spent there. The hostel is relatively clean and towels are provided however I suspect beds are not changed as they smell quite 'lived in'. The staff keep themselves to themselves and are not particularly friendly or helpful. The most annoying aspect are the very small and cramped toilets. (If you stay here you'll see what I mean!) Overall the hostel is ok and is a good base for seeing Budapest on a budget.

The location of this hostel is just PERFECT, at first the building scared me a little but the people were nice. The owner was really nice and accomodating with the arriving and departure time, he even offered us a bedroom of only three beds instead of the dormitory we had rented two beds into because a group of boys was coming a few days later. He also even spoke a little bit of French which was very welcoming ! Moreover they REALLY need to work on the cleaning, it was okay for five days but still I did not feel "safe" talking about bacteries. The kitchen was also extremely dirty and smelly while we stayed. I would still recommand the place mainly thanks to the owner and the awesome location.

The hostel is really dirty, they never change the sheets, they are full of spots and we even saw bugs walking on the beds. Besides, there is only one bathroom for the entire hostel, and it's also dirty. It is really hard to find the hostel, since there are no signs on the street.
