We stayed at the hotel only for two days but we were really pleased. The location is great, just across Matthias Church and the view is great. It is really affordable for such good location. We loved the breakfast too. Lots of alternatives and fresh products. The staff was friendly. Wifi could be a bit problematic but no big deal....

I stayed here with my friend and my daughter over New Years. Its location is fantastic which is why we chose. It has more of a guesthouse feel to it than a hotel. it is serious need of a refurbishment. That being said it is clean and warm and a good location and is fine for a short break ....

The hotel has one big advantage: location- it's close to the city's sights. The staff is quite nice and friendly. Whilst the hotel itself would really benefit from the proper refurbishment: the carpet and furniture must be changed (they old, look awful and carpet is stained), walls - repainted and decorated. There's a lot of work to be done. It's...

If you are on the north side of this hotel you will have wonderful views of the Matthais Cathedral and the surrounding plaza. However this view does not make this hotel any more than 2 stars; no amenities, motel six type soap dispenser (empty), wall paper seams peeling apart, carpeting that has seen too many little children, a TV with...

This hotel should not have three stars. Although it has a great location and views from some of the rooms, it was extremely uncomfortable. The only chair in the room was a desk chair with zero comfort. The bed mattress had springs poking through. The breakfast buffet had lukewarm eggs and sausage. There are no lifts and the rooms are...

Located on the Buda side of the city at the top of the hill is the Burg Hotel. We booked one night here as a stopover during a long European road trip. There are a number of things I liked and didn't like about the hotel. Pros: great location (right next to fishing bastion), clean rooms, helpful reception staff, included...

Magnificent location in old Buda!! Very friendly, kind and helpful staff in the cosy reception. Not a beautiful romantic room - but functional and plain, clean all over and good beds - very fine considering the price. Woke up right at the most beautiful old square, with a breathtaking cathedral and the old Fishermans Bastion placed high above Donau -...

Nice, reasonably priced hotel in an excellent location. Situated on a corner at the edge of the plaza in front of the St Matthias Church. The lobby was medium sized with a seating area and comfortable chairs. The front desk staff speak English and are very helpful. The hotel does not have a lift but the front desk can assist...

Reasonably priced, steps from transportation, and easy walking distance from major attractions on the Buda side of Bedapest, this is a smart location. Rooms aren't fancy but clean and roomy. And there is a well stocked convience/grocery store within a block. Directly across a plaza, a major church with evening music programs: perfect.

Unbeatable location just in front of Saint Matthias church and the fisherman's bastion, inside the Buda castle. Good service and quality for a 3 star hotel. Well communicated with the other side of the city (Pest) by bus. Highly recommendable

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighborhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
