Good hotel for a weekend trip, maybe not a longer stay. It's located close to a central metro and railway station. Excellent classic english breakfast. Clean room, and nice bathroom. Poor quality of WiFi though.

We recently visited the Star City Hotel in Budapest and can say this is not the best hotel but for the price we paid we can't really complain. I travelled with my two daughters 22 & 18 and wanted something close to the city. The first room was not ideal but staff were very accommodating and moved us to a...

I was in Budapest for the fourth time. But Star City Hotel is the best one place to stay and sleep. Near Keleti Train Station but in a quiet area. Perfect staff, awesome breakfast. Everything was great.

We had a very nice stay in this City Star Hotel, located in the Jewish neighborhood. Walking distances to the zoo and Botanical Garden, a long but doable walk to the Donau river, very nice and helpful staff. Breakfast was good and pretty complete. Great value for the prices, would definitely go there again.

To sum up: the room is ok, with no luxuries; breakfast is quite good; location is not that convenient if you come to Budapest for tourism; and the price is excelent. I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights, for a conference at the university. The first impression of the hotel was a bit shocking, because the building from the...

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
