Booked a two-bedroom apartment which is across a small street at the back of the hotel. Private residences that face a nice garden courtyard. Felt like a quiet, secluded neighbourhood. Hotel is located close to a train line and there are numerous restaurants close by. Check in and out was smooth and the hotel staff did a great job for...

It takes a lot to impress me in a hotel, lets just say I travel a lot. This hotel is amazing, the staff have gone out of there way to make our stay great, only on day 2 out of 3. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to stay here to pay a little extra for a junior suite as...

My girlfriend and I went to visit The Corinthia in February. We booked an executive room with access to the Executive Lounge. You have access to drinks and snacks during the whole day there and breakfast in the morning. The quality of the food is very high and the rooms are well decorated. The Spa is incredible, it is the...

We had a large, luxurious room and the price included access to the pool, spa and gym. Breakfast was amazing and the staff were polite and helpful. Budapest is a great city to visit and the hotel was within walking distance of all the central sights. I really recommend this hotel.

We stayed here for a city break in February. We were upgraded to a deluxe suite on arrival, the room was large with a separate sitting room which had an electronic massage chair, a bathroom and second toilet room. Whilst the room was very nice, the noise at night from the trams and traffic outside was unbearable and we hardly...

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for a long weekend getaway and had a deluxe room, this included a beautifully decorated room with a king size bed and access to the incredible Royal Spa. The hotel definitely exceeded our expectations and nothing was more wonderful then coming in from a day of the cold and walking to go to the...

Exquisite hotel. Exterior looks, Grand foyer friendly staff and rooms exceptional! If you want class this the place to stay. Great food. The Rickshaw Restaurant is a must. The location is in easy walking distance of the river and there are lots of great restaurants and bars nearby.

My home when ever I will be in Budapest. The historical Grand Hotel Royal old charm splash over you when you walk trough the front doors. The swimming pool is incredible and SPA treatments are great. Highly recommend!

A truly magnificant hotel, with beautiful SPA facilities and lovely, comfortable beds. The whole property is well maintained and very well cleaned. We also loved the Executive lounge. But at the end it's the small things that make the difference.

First of all, we travel extensively. We were lucky enough that our children gave us a long weekend in Budapest for our 25th wedding anniversary and booked us into the Corinthia. What can we say, except the hotel was one of the highlights of our visit! First of all, the actual hotel is Old World lovely, and the staff exceptionally...

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
First opened in 1896 as the Grand Hotel Royal; a hub for the elite of nineteenth century society, and painstakingly restored to its original glory some hundred years later, the Corinthia Budapest – located in the heart of the city - brings together classic hotel opulence with the finest five-star luxury of modern times. While the gracious frontage, marble floors, sweeping staircase and breathtaking, six-story Atrium preserved from the original building offer glorious hints of a bygone age, the levels of comfort and convenience are all reassuringly up to date.A particular feature is the hotel’s original Royal Spa centre, with 15-metre pool, now extensively refurbished by the current owners to reflect the very best in 21st-century spa luxury while retaining the grandeur of the past. Without doubt the finest hotel in Budapest. Built in classic French Renaissance style, the Grand Royal became a beacon of luxury in the days of Emperor Franz Joseph 1. Designed as a centrepiece of Hungary’s celebrations to mark its first thousand years, the hotel’s grand-style architecture and unrivaled guest facilities were seen as state-of the art for the times. Much of the building was destroyed in the 1956 Hungarian Revolution and despite re-opening in more modest form in the 1960’s, the Grand Royal remained a shadow of its former self until the 1990’s; when new owners Corinthia Hotels gave the green light for an extensive restoration project that would retain the best of the old, while sensitively adding the new. Once restored to its original splendour, the newly named Corinthia Hotel Budapest re-opened its doors, as a five-star luxury property, in 2003. ... more   less
