Very cozy and clean. Reasonable prices. Very helpful stuff. They explained me how I can get to the center and they recommend me restaurants and tour guides. Very nice and silent area with a very nice view from my balcony. Comfortable mattress.

Very clean room in an excellent location in Buda side of the city. Parking and Wi-Fi are provided for free. The people are willing to help you for anything that you will ask. I stayed there with my whole family (2 adults + 3 children). We enjoyed our stay. The breakfast is good. The price of the hotel is very good. Value for money!

Very peaceful location with free parking & easy access to the city centre by bus. Room was huge with a good bathroom and cooking facilities were a bonus. Staff very helpful with advice and information about things to do in Budapest. We will stay here again when we return in the warmer weather.

I stayed at the Helios for three nights this July. I found it generally matched up to the positive comments I had read on TripAdvisor.
The room was simply but effectively furnished with a very pleasant little balcony and a reasonable amount of room. It was spotlessly clean and remained so throughout my stay. The shower etc worked perfectly (not always the case in my experience) and towels replaced every day.
All the staff I spoke with spoke first class English and were helpful and keen to organise tickets etc. One minor criticism here is that there's a confusing mixture of payment types acceptance. The accommodation bill can be paid with a credit card but not the airport transfer. If you get a Budapest Card from the hotel they will add it to your bill but in my case forgot to do so and so I had to make another small CC payment as I was leaving (I had run out of currency).
The main disadvantage is the location. Although it's very easy to use the number 8 bus and the bus-stop is only 5 minutes away, the service stops just after 23.00. Inaddition, at some times of the day the trip, which usually takes 20 minutes, can take double that. I found it a bit of a drag when I wanted a shower/change late afternoon and had to spend the best part of 90 minutes on transport.
I will return to Budapest as I enjoyed my brief visit but I will look for somewhere closer to the city centre.
One final point - the hotel is in a very quiet location which may suit some (I liked it because there were none of the Brit stag parties) - but not others.

I recently spent several great days at the Helios. The English-speaking owner and staff were fantastic, incredibly friendly and helpful. The ample breakfast was delicious. The room was spotless and very comfortable. I cannot fault this place. Do not be put off by the bus trip into the centre of town. It is no trouble at all, takes only a few minutes and is worth it to stay in such a great place. I highly recommend the Helios.

Stayed at the Helios Pension in November 2003. It is situated in the Buda Hills, in a nice quiet area with a number of expensive houses in the location. It is easy to get into town and back on the bus which is 5 minutes walk away. The rooms are clean, comfortable and most have a balcony looking towards the city. There is a breakfast included in the room rate which for a single room cost me 34 euros a night. The staff are friendly, speak English and are happy to give advice and pass the time of day. The hotel is non smoking. If you want an inexpensive hotel, in a quiet area and don't mind a 15/20 minute bus ride into the city centre I would certainly recommend this hotel. Their website is easy to find, gives all the information you need and is it cheaper booking direct.

Very clean and comfortable apartment house in the Buda Hills. Convenient location for public transportation. There is a bus stop within five minute walk. The staff went out of their way to provide whatever was needed. One of the cleaniest places we've ever stayed!

First of all the staff were most welcoming and always had a friendly word. The rooms were comfortable and it was no bother regulating the heat to a comfortable temperature. The area in which the hotel is situated is very pleasant and the bus service into town is regular and never crowded. In fact the public transport for Budapest is exemplary. For a capital city the rates represent excellent value for money. We had a really enjoyable 4 days with you.

I stayed in the Helios with my boyfriend for the weekend of the Hungarian Grand Prix. Our room was really clean and comfortable with a lovely balcony. Its situated in a quiet (and expensive!) residential area. The breakfast was delicious, and the staff were very helpful and friendly, and spoke excellent english. The room rate for that weekend was extremely good value (the most expensive weekend anywhere in Budapest) - we paid €80 per night for the room including breakfast. The bus service to the city was very frequent and efficient. I would highly recommend this hotel.
