I like to stay at the Baross Hotel when I am in Budapest. The location is great, the rooms are clean, and the staff are very friendly, helpful and professional. The coffee and the food in the breakfast room was good, and the people who work in the breakfast room are friendly.

Very clean hotel, room was lovely & warm, fresh towels daily. Staff very pleasant & helpful. Lovely breakfast, cereals, toast, pastries, scrambled egg, sausages, cold meats & cheeses, boiled eggs, tea's coffee, hot chocolate, juices, most enjoyable! Only one negative, no tea / coffee making ravioli ties in room. Would stay there again 🙂

Affordable price, very close to Keleti Train Station, lots of eateries around, and Metro just a block away. Some shopping and sites within close walking distance. Good breakfast, too. Simple, but it's got everything you need.

Most of the staff was very friendly. The breakfast was good. The room was nice and clean and big. Central location, but quiet. The surprise was a bottle of sparkling wine:) For sure I would go there again.

Acceptable solution for overnight in Budapest city. Keleti railway station 2 mins walk, straight across the square (actually there is a nice view to it from breakfast hall). Breakfast is very basic selection, average quality. Value for money place just one level above a hostel.

I chose this hotel based on its location being across the road from the train station as I wanted to catch an early train to Bratislava, Slovakia for a day trip. My taxi couldn't stop in front of the hotel due to traffic, so dropped me about 30 meters away and it is easy to walk past the hotel as...

Hotel was in good location - just on edge of Jewish quarter. We walked everywhere from here. Hotel staff were very friendly and obliging - they gave us maps and information and explained how to get to Vorosmarty Square when we arrived. They offered to book any tours we might want to take. Rooms were clean and tidy - if...

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
