I booked with a tour operator and this was hotel I was given. My room was spacious and the washroom is big. I like the heated towel rack. There was water in the room as well but no coffee/tea. It is also about a 20 min walk from the city centre. There is a metro but the line is under repair. Bus and trams are available. Breakfast also had a good selection. I stayed in the Sisi wing. I think my only complaint would be the noise level. This is the first time I stayed in a hotel where I can hear my neighbours. Not completely clearly but it was between clearly and muffled. So at night, I can hear my neighbours, and also foot steps. I am not sure if people are stomping but it just seems like when I regularly walk, I can hear my own footsteps. This morning, I heard an iPhone alarm and I woke up but then I realized it was my neighbours alarm, but that’s how clear it was. Everything else was great except that part, which is why I would actually rate my stay as 3.5 stars.…
Breakfast was not kept replenished regularly.Selection very poor.Room very basic and small and shower one of the smallest we have seen, especially if you are not tiny.Bar and restaurant did not exist.City centre at least 20-30mins walk away. Not 4star but more a 2+.Den & Sue England
This was our second time at Corvin Hotel, and it was as good and perfect as the first one. We are definitely coming back for a third go around. The Hotel is clean, and in order, with friendly staff no matter what time we came. There is a good breakfast buffet, with both hot and cold food, where its easy to find something to eat and drink for all. The Hotel is in a walking distance for more or less everything. Even the Great Mall, and the Gellért Spa on the Buda side of Budapest. Placed away from the busy streets, on a quiet street. And for the Cleaning staff - We hope that we translated the note somewhat correctly.
The location is excellent, close to the city centre, one street away from the grand boulevard, but in a quiet and lovely residential area. You can hear birds singing it's so calm :) The staff is helpful and polite. The rooms are another question. I stayed in the Sissi Wing, which is 3 star, the hotel has another wing (Corvin, 4 stars), I don't know whether that is better, but I assume. The furniture is outdated (not a big deal), the bed was extremely uncomfortable (too soggy and soft), the tiles in the bathroom were crooked and not entirely clean. The walls are so thin that you can hear every single movement of your next door neighbour guest, from all sides. Toilets flushing, water running, people talking in a normal voice, steps, phones being plugged in - you can hear it all. If you open the window, the street is much less noisy than the room itself. If you want to rest after a long day and need a relaxing sleep then I would not recomment the Sissi Wing. The breakfast selection is good, fresh ingredients and excellent coffee :)…
Staff helpful before went on phone and on arrival. Security good with the 24 hour reception right by front door and in a very quiet street. Had a premium/ super room which is worth the extra, large room, big bed and seating area. Plenty of storage space in large wardrobe, nice hot shower. Kettle and mugs in room great for a cup of tea after exploring the city. Only negative re room was the duvets, quite small and two on the larger bed, they hardly cover the bed. I did ask if they had larger ones but the dont. Pillow pretty solid too. Very clean everywhere. Breakfast good selection but shame no fresh fruit compote for cereal, and nice to see Gluten free area. Beware other then Breakfast no other meals here, no bar just some beers and coffee can buy from reception. But nearby plenty of supermarkets with a big Aldi just 5 mins walk away. Good transport links close by and 10 min walk to the river. Central market hall 15 mins walk away always worth a visit. Easy to/ from Airport, Airport bus stops less than 15 mins walk, and if coming by train easy on Underground / tram. Courtyard rooms very quiet and air-con/ heating runs quietly. I would recommend and return anytime.…
Recently (Jan. 2022) stayed four nights at the Corvin Hotel and was very grateful I did. The room was spotless, the bed and bedding sleep-promoting, and the bathroom spacious and with an excellent shower. Downstairs, the breakfast buffet was spacious with a wide variety of traditional (e.g. scrambled eggs, sausage, pastries), Hungarian, and gluten-free fare along with three different seating areas to enjoy the food. Desk staff were consistently friendly and helpful. The location is excellent: a few minutes from the 4/6 tram, a bank, a small grocery store, and Corvin Plaza for eager shoppers. Budapest is very busy and exciting just outside the hotel's doors, and inside it is an oasis of calm.
The hotel is located central, 10 minutes to a street with many restaurants. Very large and confortable triple room. Toillet is in a separate small room, not together with shower. 1 water 0.5 liters free for each family member. Parking available with reservation, 15 euros. Breakfast could be better.
Tucked away in a quiet residential area, this hotel is a comfortable place to stay within easy reach of all the main tourist attractions. Lots of comfy sofas in reception area & a light, airy restaurant for breakfast. We asked for a high floor room & were put on the top floor. It was quiet, comfortable & warm. There was no tea/coffee in the room but reception provided us with a kettle. Very welcome after long days sight seeing. Would recommend this especially for shorter breaks when you want to be near the centre.
Recently stayed in this lovely hotel. Before arrival I was very impressed I had arranged drinks in the room for my boyfriends birthday and I got upgraded to the sissi suite for no extra charge very impressed. Arrived to the hotel and it was very clean and welcomed by extremely friendly staff. Room was lovely and the bed was extremely comfortable ideal for after a long day of sight seeing. I liked the key drop in the reception before you go out for the day very personal touch and there’s no worry of loosing the key when your out. Hotel was just beside the Main Street which you can get down to the Danube river from. Will definitely stay here again when I return to Budapest in the future 😁
Just returned from a five night stay in The Corvin Hotel. The superior room we had was spacious, and extremely comfortable, toasty warm, secure and clean. Breakfast was a buffet style help yourself affair, and although it was a little limited in option, all was well cooked and laid out. Staff were wonderful. Great location for the price.
