I have had the immense pleasure to have been to this beautiful hotel 3 times now.
The entrance is grandiose, befitting of a Palace, however once inside the extravagance continues.
Despite being a 5 star hotel, you are made to feel at home immediately.
My requests for more milk, sugar and coffee were seen to in seconds.
The rooms are very comfortable with beds that you just could lie in forever.
The bathroom, well this is where this hotel comes into its own.
Sumptuous, marble, lights, shower, bath etc.
Also the little extras such as the gels, soaps, towels, bathrobes, are all high quality.
Also you're given an update on the weather temp for the following day, via a card left in the bathroom.
The mini bar and coffee/tea making facilities are excellent.
Now onto the Spa.
Oh the Spa!
The gym is gargantuan, with all the equipment you could possibly need.
The pool I used most days, as well as the steam room and sauna, 2 of each for men and women.
Comfortable recliner chairs, ample towels and lush robes.
Huge changing rooms with showers and little extras such as combs, creams, toners etc.

You could, quite frankly, spend your entire time in the spa.

December is by far the best month as Budapest has Christmas markets.
No other country does Christmas like the Hungarians.
They certainly know how to make you feel festive.
The Four Seasons has an immense Christmas tree with gorgeous decorations at this time.

Whenever you stay at the Gresham Palace you are guaranteed a phenomenal stay.

I stayed at the Four Seasons for a conference and the experience was like to no other. The service staff was incredible and noticed every detail. The rooms are enormous and beautiful with very comfortable beds. I very much appreciated having Nespresso and glass bottles of water available complimentary in the room. The housekeeping staff were amazing. Everything is visually stunning. I would return here in a heartbeat!

My partner tested positive for Covid whilst we were staying at the Four Seasons hotel, Gresham Palace in Budapest for New Year. Now some 7 days later the hotel simply couldn’t have been kinder, more considerate or more responsive to our needs. Instead of wishing us to leave or treating us like Pariahs they instead observed safety protocols perfectly to ensure the safety of their staff and hotel guests whilst ensuring we were treated equally beautifully in isolation. Moving us to a room that could be ring fenced from hotel ventilation systems and with a long, self contained balcony for outdoor exercise they then stocked the room with piles of fresh towels, bathrobes, toiletries, water bottles, an espresso machine etc and proceeded to contact us a few times daily to see how we were feeling (I also then got sick) and to see whether there was anything further they could do to make us comfortable. In addition they even sent up the odd treat (including a whole dinner and a bottle of bubbly and of the famed Hungarian wine Tokaji) to ensure our spirits were maintained. Having always loved Four Seasons hotels our loyalty is now absolute and we much look forward to returning to the beautiful Gresham Palace and visiting its sister hotels across the world (pandemic allowing).

Thank you for your very generous feedback regarding your recent experience at Four Seasons Gresham Palace. I really appreciate you taking your valuable time to share your personal story with all the readers. I am sincerely proud that in such a difficult situation that happened to you when very, unfortunately, your partner was tested positive for Covid during your stay with us and later on you also got ill, we were able to provide a safe atmosphere while handling such situation (that can occur to anyone) with thoughtfulness. I was so happy that you felt we dealt with this issue with responsiveness and consideration. We have been fortunate to amass a group of individuals who genuinely care about our guests and take great pride in their own performance. It feels so good to learn from you that during these difficult times of the ongoing global pandemic, we were able to set it apart. The time, energy, and effort we put to make our guests feel safe and well taken care of definitely pays off when reading such lines. Hopefully, we will have the pleasure to welcome you again to our hotel or any of our sister properties, should the global pandemic situation allow. We had a river view suite with balcony, although I would say it was closer to a junior suite because the living room and bedroom were together, the toilet was not private and there was only one sink and a smaller bathtub and shower than you'd expect for a suite. It was adjoining but not interconnecting to a deluxe room with 2 beds where the kids were placed and the 2 rooms were behind a privacy door. We were lucky the weather report for the previous weekend was in error, because we had a front row seat to the fireworks that Saturday night. Our balcony gives a great view of the river from the parliament through the famous churches across the river in Buda.
The hotel's breakfast buffet is great; try the nutella pastry. The bees love it! They also put out some nice salads and smoothies. Dinner here was also rather good. The concierges here are a strong point of the hotel; they help set you up prearrival and are on duty till around 11pm, but they take a large markup on things such as cars with drivers. Good if you can arrange your own. Uber doesn't work here and taxis are not always plentiful, but there is a taxi stand to the right of the hotel about a block down the street in case the valet doesn't mention it.
The swimming pool, jacuzzi and saunas are very good although you need to be an athlete to climb in and out of them. The gym was a sore point for me; I'm used to a better standard at a Four Seasons property and this equipment was a hodgepodge of dated and odd things. It got the job done but it could use a makeover. There is a bathing suit spinner in the very nice dressing areas.
I got a spa treatment; the receptionist moved some things around to get me an appointment but I had to insist because otherwise I wasn't going to get an appointment. Guest laundry was done promptly and well done; the hotel gave us a discount for our large orders and this was greatly appreciated by us midway through our 2 week European tour.
The elevators are annoyingly slow here. My sense here is that this property was state of the art when it opened nearly 20 years ago but that its amenities haven't been refreshed since it opened. We enjoyed the place but I think this hotel could use a kick in the rear from some competition. We don't know if in this increasingly authoritarian state how private these hotel rooms and internet networks are, but we acted as if the rooms and networks were not totally private.

We would like to thank you personally for taking the time to share your experience and your impression of our hotel on the Tripadvisor public website a few days ago. Your fantastic detailed feedback is highly appreciated. Our goal is to ensure that each one of our guests leaves our hotel with a feeling of satisfaction; I was glad to note that overall, we managed to meet, and in some areas of the hotel even exceed your expectations, however, be assured we have also noted that some aspects of your experience were not impeccable. We were pleased to read that the postponement of the fireworks a week later due to bad weather conditions gave you and your family the perfect opportunity to see and enjoy it from the balcony of your suite. We were also happy to learn that you were satisfied with the quality of the buffet breakfast, especially the fresh Nutella pastry and the dinner you had in our restaurant was also delicious. It filled me with great pride that our laundry team proved to be competent and also our concierge staff was able to assist you with various arrangements prior to and during your visit. However, despite the fact that the use of the spa, sauna and jacuzzi added to the experience, I regrettably noted that the gym and its equipment were quite disappointing, as was the slowness of the elevators. Please be assured that purchasing up-to-date gym equipment is already planned for the near future. Again, thank you for recommending Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace to all Tripadvisor readers and travelers and we also highly appreciate your constructive comments, as they are the best tool for us to improve where there is a need. We hope should your travels bring you back to Budapest that you would be considering Four Seasons Budapest your hotel of choice. Sincerely, Yves Giacometti Regional Vice President & General Manager

We visited the four seasons in Hungary, Budapest and one has to be very impressed on arrival by the facade of this hotel. This is then carried on as you enter inside the hotel, which in its heyday, would’ve been opened to the rich and famous. These days, the hotel accommodate for normal people like us, who have a little bit more cash to splash for top tier service. This hotel did not disappoint. The room was large, clean and the housekeeping staff were very attentive, without being overbearing. This is obviously a staff trait, as the bar staff and the waiting staff and the receptionists were all of the same ilk. Eager to help. The hotel is situated on the other side of the river but offers great views of the chain Bridge opposite, if you can get a Riverside view, which I would recommend. Enjoy.

We were made to feel incredibly welcome from the moment we arrived. The team were very friendly and went the extra mile to assist when we were disturbed by noise from a neighbouring club, changing our room and complimentary treatments. Couldn’t fault the team or the service they provided.

The hotel is in a renovated historic building. The original finishes are preserved, and it's absolutely beautiful. It's in a location central to both Buda and Pest, and most sites are easily walkable, or there is a bus stop across the square. My room, 324, overlooked the center courtyard. I did not have a view, but it was a very quiet room. All amenities are top notch. The staff is very helpful. You can get breakfast with your room, and it's worth it. Be sure to use the pool and jacuzzi upstairs. The massages are excellent, despite the price (it's what is charged in the US).

Stayed at the Four Seasons for two nights before joining our Viking Cruise.

Our room was very good. Bathroom and especially the shower and hotel products were very well done. Bed was comfortable and the room serviced and turned down making it very comfortable.

Breakfast was served in the main restaurant with a good cold and warm selection freshly prepared. We had omelettes on both days which were excellent as were the juices and smoothies.

The hotel is ideal for visiting both sides of the river and just a short walk away from many good dining options. The Metro stops are within easy walking distance.

I haven’t marked the hotel 5* as the two days we were there, they were hosting a very large wedding. This meant the newly renovated bar MÚZSA was unavailable to normal paying guests. The lobby for both days was noisy, parts roped off, generally unwelcoming. On our first night we were also woke at midnight by guests from the reception knocking on our room looking for other guests of the reception.

I have posted a review about this place before. The herend porzellan afternoon English high tea served on herend porzellan with stunning cakes, stunning sandwiches, a real selection of teas. It's a treat worth having. Not cheap but not that expensive either. I would have had to pay a third more in the UK. But its too good to miss. You must book. Don't be shy to ask for a doggy bag if you can not manage it all. As is always the case, the staff were fantastic.

I was taking the opportunity to take my family to Budapest during the weekend (having a business meeting on Monday). I was really surprised how the hotels is prepared to get visitors during this strange times ( usually Budapest is full of tourists ,and today more or less is zero!).
I realized that if the staff is taking all the security measures you have a real comfort filling , and we had a wonderful weekend: a very warm welcome, super clean rooms, the restaurant and the terrace was opened and was a very good food and service!!
Congratulation Four seasons BUDAPEST!!
