This is a nice hotel, with a very nice staff, clean rooms and a quite rich breakfast menu. Unfortunately there are some negatives like they were not able to fix a problem with the safe (changing the code used by the former client), and the worse one is that they have that annoying policy not allowing to open the front... Mercure is a solid brand and this hotel is a great choice for any visitor to Budapest. Check-in was a breeze we found the room to be have exactly what was needed. A good bed to sleep on and shower with plenty of hot water. It would have been nice for the room to be a bit larger, but it... More

The room was reasonable and clean. The bed was very hard. The lifts are impossible at breakfast and the breakfast is almost a scrum. It's fairly cheap and in a good location but try to avoid breakfast (and the rip off cost) and eat locally at one of the many cafes nearby.

Good hotel, excellent location, walking distance to riverside and local cafes, bars etc. Hotel itself is very clean, bath and shower in the en suite. The staff are very friendly and helpful, most speak excellent English,(as i only can only manage a few words of Hungarian). The buffet style breakfast is good, fresh bread, fruit, cereals etc, don't expect a full... More

I stayed in this hotel for a few nights. The room is very good and clean. Breakfast was very crowded, and coffee machines were very often broken. Coffee was also not very good. One day, they forgot to clean the room. I went to the reception and they told me that they were not able to solve this Next time... More

Perfect central hotel for our 3 night stay. Bit of a problem checking in which was sorted quickly and helpfully. Our room had a good view over the square and was very quiet. Really nice hotel bar for a nightcap. Only a short walk to the river and lots of good restaurants close by. Very pleased and will come back.

Stayed for 3 nights. Booked a standard room but the hotel had overbooked and after some discussion, the hotel agreed to upgrade us to a junior suite. The room was big and comfy but not very modern. There was a great view over the square and no noise problems. The location was incredible - surrounded by great bars and restaurants.... More

Excellent location right by Kalvin Ter metro station, with many cafes and restaurants nearby. Can also walk to many sights from the hotel. Clean and comfortable room. Free welcome drink with online check-in. Nice staff. The connectivity of the free wifi was not good though, and I practically got online with my own sim during my stay in the hotel.... More

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
