Reasonable hotel in central location, fairly average Accor quality, staff friendly enough but not totally helpful, I am a silver card holder and complained about being charged over 5 euros for a small bottle of water, I thought it was a mistake but the staff weren't interested in making any adjustment to the cost.

Great location to all attractions as Metro system right outside the door and all types of transport very inexpensive. The down town area easy short walk, but various shops and restaurants in the LOL also area too. Very easy to find from the airport. Good value, rooms, service and food. Staff helpful and friendly.

First night in the hotel and we are struggling to see in the hotel room, very very poor lighting in the room. Went to the front desk and spoke to a trainee who's attitude was very unhelpful and quite obnoxious! Told us in no uncertain terms only the Privelidge rooms had good lighting (at €40 extra a night!!). Not the...

Looks good from the outside, even reception looks ok, and the highlight for me was the little glass corridor restaurant (albeit the service was slow but the food good). However the rooms, NOT four star, no decent hair dryer, no iron / ironingboard, the rooms were very dated, and very small - having just travelled for almost 24 hrs, I...

Currently midway through a 4 night stay. Whike the location is fantastic for accessing almist everything you moght want to with relative ease the hotel us shabby. After being moved from our durst room due to the horrendous noise from the lift (don't accept any room number ending with a 10!) we are now in a room in the 40's...

If you're looking for convenience in location to the heart of the city (Pest side), then this is probably a good choice, but I was looking for something different. I suspect business travelers will find it satisfying, but my guide stayed in a far more interesting part of the Jewish Quarter for far less, and had a bigger space. A...

Just came back from staying at this hotel for 4 nights. The location is what I mainly booked it for, it's brilliant, can walk anywhere important and tourist locations from the hotel. With the underground/metro right outside the hotel, bus stop, shops and restaurants all so close. Inside the hotel is all very standard and outdated. The room is small,...

The Mercure Hotel is well located Close to the Center and within walking distance to the riverfront. There are plenty of restaurants close by. The rooms are well kept and an upgrade to a "privileged" room is always worth the money! Taking breakfast on the bridge, connecting both buildings of the hotel.... perfect! The staff is always friendly and competent....

Cons: - free but no wifi. The hotel supposedly provides unlimited free WiFi, but, at times, the speed...

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
