This was our second visit to this beautiful city. We chose to stay at the Intercontinental as it was close to the Chain Bridge & the supplement we paid for a deluxe room with Danube view was certainly worth it. The hotel is well-located with excellent views. We were reluctant to close the room curtains at night, shutting out the...

Booked hotel and flight through BA website. Excellent hotel in all ways....location, food, staff. We upgraded to Danube view room abd glad we did. Dinner was superb fine dining experience. Only negative was our hotel airport transfer. Driver was on mobile nearly all the way and went through at least one red light. Take a local taxi!! But overall a...

From the moment we arrived were treated like royalty. Nothing was too much trouble. The staff were courteous and attentive without being intrusive. Our room, on the 8th floor, was wonderful with a huge window overlooking the Danube and the Palace. Food was delicious. Breakfast was amazing. I don't think they could have provided more! The Director of rooms and...

My wife and I didn't pick the hotel - it was included in our Avalon Danube River Cruise tour - however, the moment we found out we'd be staying here we were quite pleased and excited and upon actual arrival and check-in... our high hopes for the property were met and actually exceeded. Even though we were on a group...

You can't go wrong with an Intercontinental, and this one doesn't disappoint. The hotel is perfectly located right next to the river and the river view rooms (which we had) have a great view of the bridge and castle. Rooms are decent sized and everything is perfectly well maintained. My only gripe is why the minibar prices are always ridiculously...

Stayed at the InterContinental in Budapest recently. The views from the hotel are tremendous - though make sure you upgrade to a river-view room as it's well worth the price. The property is in a good location, walking distance to the funicular up to Buda Castle (just across the Szechenyi Chain Bridge), as well as to the Hungarian Parliament Building...

A lovely café in the lobby, amazing view and delicious gluten free cakes. The staff are friendly and kind, the atmosphere is warm and comfortable. The lobby btw is decorated in a charming way for Xmas.

Lovely friendly staff which in Budapest we found is a rarity. Popped in for drinks, the bar has a great view of the castle opposite Watched the world go by with lovely local wine and beer The Christmas tram went past as we enjoyed the evening

The InterContinental Budapest Hotel is fantastic. The location is perfect, within walking distance to everything and mere minutes from the Chain Bridge, Christmas markets, restaurants, and so much more. Our room had an amazing view of Budapest Castle and the Chain Bridge over the Danube River. The hotel was elegant but not stuffy and even my kids loved it. Large...

The riverside location is unbeatable - extend your budget to a river view room and marvel at the view! It's pretty good from the bar and lounge too. The staff are friendly, helpful and well-trained. Corso bar and restaurant are both good, but expect to be paying capital city prices. The room was good as well, but it (along with...

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
