Visited this hotel back in august last year and we were pleasantly surprised by high quality service we received. As we travel a lot we can gladly mark this property as very good. We got a nice spacey room with a beautiful river view, it absolutely corresponds to all pictures published on websites. Room looks clean, is very well equipped...

After being let down on 2 previous stays in Budapest in other (supposedly high-class) hotels we booked the intercontinental. Look no further, this is the place to stay. 5 Stars? Yes, all the niceties and stuff you can expect. View? Yes, spectacular. Location? Yes, close to everywhere you want to go and what you want to see. Quality? Good, everything...

The hotel is superbly located, right on the river, with great views of the city. (For sure ask for a river view, well worth it). Easy access by car, foot and train to almost all the important sites in the city. The staff are super friendly and always ready to help. The rooms are small, and this was disappointing, the...

Stayed here before our Viking River Cruise last April 2017. Location is ideal. There were a lot of restaurants and shops nearby. The view from our room was amazing esp at night when the Royal Palace is all lit up. Would recommend this hotel to friends and family.

We had been offered an upgrade at a reasonable price to the family room and it was well worth the money. The view from the room would be hard to beat. The hotel itself is a little past its prime but the location, views and fantastic service make up for it and some.

We recently spent 3 nights at the InterContinental Budapest, and we greatly enjoyed our stay. Our room was very clean and comfortable, and the view of the Danube--especially spectacular at night--was truly remarkable. The staff was efficient and friendly. The food was very well-prepared. In addition to breakfast in the restaurant, we had several small meals in the bar which...

This hotel is gorgeous. Allowing the Viking River Cruise Rep a desk in the lobby was fantastic. She helped us book local tours. The hotel held our luggage locked up so we could explore the city before check-in time. The breakfast buffet was great and delicious and having dinner on the terrace was beautiful and the food also delicious. It...

My wife and adult daughter came back raving about their week at the IC Budapest! The pictures were phenomenal and the stories about the kind staff were so great to hear. One year ago our daughter earned her Ph.D. from Boston College. This was the first real opportunity for mother and daughter to spend time together after 17 years of...

Hotel is wonderful - great service, very comfortable. Extremely close to transportation to get you to the important sites in the city. Beautiful views of the Danube - highly recommended! Restaurants on the water at the hotel are very good. Great (large) souvenir shop just a block or two away. Both the trolley and underground are nearby. Bath houses are...

I was fortunate to a get a room overlooking the River Danube and the beautiful castles on the rock. The rooms are large and spacious. The conference facilities were adequate for the over 200 international delegates we had.

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
