Came with some friends for a visit. Got suite on second floor which was the old non renovated rooms. View is very nice and location of hotel is very central. However the hotel is getting old and a bit run down. The lounge on the 8 floor was very good with excellent and friendly staff. Value for money is acceptable.... More

A great Christmas Market just around the corner. The hotel staff was wonderful, check in was quick and easy. We were "Guest... More

We had a great stay here at Sofitel Budapest. The decor was really fun for adults and children. Buffet breakfast was excellent, best we've had in Europe. This hotel is in a great location for Christmas markets and for exploring Buda and Pest. Buda is just a short walk over the Charles Bridge. The one downfall was the parking situation... More

I have been visiting the hotel on many occasions and it has become one of my favorites. Staff still asks if I have been there before so loyalty could be recognized a bit more however the last few times I was upgraded without me asking for it. The rooms have a classic look and feel but I like it .The... More

We stayed here for a city break. Lovely hotel, very polite friendly staff. Breakfast was amazing...everything you could possibly want, even fresh omelets made by a chef in front of you. Central to Budapest so great for walking to the tourist attractions. Would recommend the hotel to anyone as it was very good.

Beautiful room with awesome view . Stayed one night here on completion of river cruise. Hotel staff friendly. Continental breakfast . Great hotel to walk and sight see. Drug store close by as well as small shops and restaurants. A lovely city full of history and beauty and hotel complimented that.

We had a few days in Budapest and loved it all. There is so much to see and do. As well as the obvious sights in the guide book our highlights included dinner in a Michelin 1 star restaurant, a superb dinner cruise on the Danube, visited the Xmas market with scrummy marzipan treats, listened to an organ recital at... Spectacular venue, very good services, excellent food, restaurant personnel very assertive (especially M. Norbert). I have really enjoyed the days spent in the hotel. I am planning to come again, for vacation purposes this time.

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
