I picked the hotel because of a convenient location and the international brand. I was in shock when I opened the room door. The room was uncomfortably too small, I felt claustrophobic there! Seriously, if you have that issue, you cannot stay in the room! No place for a normal size suitcase. The room was otherwise clear, and the personnel... More

Stayed for 2 nights in May and have nothing negative to report. Having said that, it's not an extraordinary hotel, just average I'd say. I chose a privilege room but didnt really feel privileged (I would've thought that privilege rooms would be on a higher floor). Anyway, all in all, apart from the hotel restaturant food which I found a... More

My wife and I had our 4-day holiday in Budapest two weeks ago, and stayed in Mercure Budapest Buda Hotel. We had a very pleasant time there. The hotel is ideal for city breaks, with free in-room WIFI. Its staff are friendly and helpful. When we had trouble switching on the floor-stand lamp in our room, one of the front-desk... More

The hotel is clean and the rooms are a good size. The real attraction of this location is that you can walk across the road, throught a very pleasant park, up a series of steps right to St Matthias' Church and the Fishermens' Bastion. There is a labyrinth inside the mountain and it is well worth seeing. The views of... More

It is apparent that mercer hotel buda has seen better days. The room we stayed in, although large and fairly clean was not in the best of shape. The carpet floor is dated as the walls, the bathroom walls are peeling. The location of the hotel is very good, it is about 100 meters from metro station and a 10... More

Room was very clean. Thanks to wi-fi service I manage to finish some work. I missed catler in the room to prepare a cup of coffee, bathroom is very clean, but small. Heating was fine. Location is excellent for travel purposes, also for tourist sightseeing.

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighborhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
