We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in January 2020.

Location - Hotel is in a more modern building on the Buda side, very easy to get to on public transport with a tram stop right outside, metro station a few minutes walk away and even the City Sightseeing bus has a stop nearby. It is close to the sights of the old city, including the castle and Fishermans Bastion and the funicular. There are some restaurants around the hotel but we found that the Pest side had more to offer in terms of restaurants. The hotel has a magnificent view of the Danube and the beautiful parliament building. It is about a 20 minute (scenic) walk from the hotel to the Chain bridge and Pest side.

Room - very large for European standards, clean and neatly decorated. We found the beds very comfortable and big. The bathroom was clean, with good water pressure in the shower and lovely Elemis toiletries provided. The towels were also a nice surprise as they were very large in comparison to most towels offered in hotels.

Restaurant - we had breakfast in the hotel on one of the mornings that we were there and found this to be good for a buffet style hotel breakfast, with most of the things you could want available. The staff are good about emptying the tables of used bowls and cutlery etc. We also had a meal or two in the restaurant which was lovely. The view of the river and parliament building makes it perfect for a meal and the food was decent (the potato fries were absolutely delicious!). A highlight for us at the restaurant were the staff, who were friendly and attentive without being intrusive. In particular Andrea and Gyuri were lovely!

The reception of the hotel is nicely appointed with quite a few comfy seats available when waiting. They also have a luggage store and the check out is at 12pm which is nice, compared to much earlier check outs at other hotels.

The only negative thing that we encountered at the hotel were the reception staff, they were not particularly welcoming or friendly. They were quite abrupt when checking us in. They did not offer any advice in terms of places to eat or ask if they could assist in terms of pointing us in the direction of an attraction or transport link or even offering a city map, which we have had in most 4 star hotels we have stayed at. This, however, did not detract from the overall good impression we had of the hotel and we enjoyed our stay very much and would recommend this hotel for a stay on the Buda side!

We stayed for 3 nights in December and visited the Christmas markets.
The hotel is very clean and we had a spacious large room with a fantastic view across the river.
The hotel displays lots of arty pieces, there are little black birds that sit on perches in the corner of the rooms and quirky little features like the bowling balls under the bedside cabinets - our friends had bowling pins in their room and carpets with buttons in the pattern.

There is a good selection & choice at breakfast and hotel staff friendly and helpful - providing maps and ideas for days out if you need help finding your way around.

Our room was cleaned & serviced daily and plenty of fresh towels provided.

The hotel is within easy walking distance for trams, the ferry, for walking across the bridges to Pest and for the Palace.

we would love to return and visit again in the spring/summer time.

We booked into this hotel over New Year. We had a room on the first floor with a balcony that afforded us a great view of the Danube and the Hungarian Parliament. The room itself was lovely; lots of room to place your stuff, a bathroom with a really great shower and the bed was very comfortable. My partner particularly enjoyed the lights in the wall that resembled the chain bridge!
The hotel itself is very modern and clean. The staff we had upon checking in were very friendly; however, later in the trip when we asked what time checkout was, the receptionist didn't really seem impressed that we wasted his time with such a trivial question? (The time wasn't given to us upon check in) This interaction wasn't really great for a hotel that boasts about having approachable staff.
On one of the nights, the hotel had a party on the floor below us. We weren't informed of this party nor was it displayed anywhere in the hotel, and loud bassy music went on until around 3am. If we were told in advance about it, or placed elsewhere in the hotel I think it would have been acceptable; being right above the DJ deck, however, was not.
We didn't eat at the hotel as we thought 15 Euros for breakfast was a bit extortionate. There was a lovely bakery about 5 mins away from the hotel where we could get pastries for much less.
Overall this was a nice hotel, but I think that in some situations the staff could have been a bit more courteous towards guests.

It’s worthwhile upgrading to a river view with the spectacular views of the river and Parliament that are dramatically different from day to night. At night it’s all lit up including the bridges and looks magical. We went at Christmas and the hotel was beautifully decorated as was most of Budpest and the sprawling Christmas markets. Breakfast at the hotel was well worthwhile as there’s not much else around the hotel- a stroll across the bridges takes you to Pest to the main shopping areas. A lovely hotel with really lovely staff.

We arrived approximately between 9-9:30am to the hotel by overnight train from Prague. I was traveling with my wife and five year old son, and we were all tired from the trip. There was no greeting, or simple ‘Good Morning, Welcome to …” I ignored this because we had requested an early check-in but the staff member who was checking us in, told us the room was not available and that he could upgrade us for free to a river view room for two nights on the first floor if we wanted to check in at that time. We wanted a castle view and since the river view room was on the first floor, we politely declined and chose to wait. After a quick discussion with my wife because our son was really tired, I went back to the desk to request if he could give us the the river view room for one night so we did not have to wait but to give us the castle view room for the second night of our stay. The staff made a face, told me he was doing me a favour before and then suddenly told me that I could check in to the castle view room right at that time. I was thankful and ignored his attitude once again and took the keys to our room upstairs.

This is what happened next and really put me off interacting with the staff at the hotel again. We realised that we had forgotten the European adapter for our iPad so my wife called guest services to request an adapter. The same staff member answered the phone and told my wife that this was probably the first time we are traveling and that four star hotels do not provide adapters. At this point, i had enough of his attitude so on my way to breakfast I went down to the front desk and asked to speak the manager. The manger was not there and the staff gave me his contact information. Another member of staff at this point took over and was much friendlier. He told me that the adapters were currently in use by other guests and they would notify me when one became available. So I confirmed with him that this was a service that four-star hotels offer and he said yes and that his colleague was misinformed.

I received no apology from the staff member regarding his behaviour and honestly, I would never recommend anyone to stay at your hotel again.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your feedback. We were very disappointed to read that our Customer service (specially the attitude of one staff member) failed to meet your expectations. Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconveniences caused. Provoking such bad feelings by the service is absolutely not usual to us. Our team members normally only receive very positive comments regarding their work so we were a bit surprised that you had such a negative experience. Please rest assured that this was an exception and not the usual standard of service, upon which we have built our high reputation. Your complaint was taken very seriously and your remarks have been investigated and discussed with the respective team member. Your feedback is of great value to us, thank you once again. Although we understand the disappointment you feel towards art'otel now and you do not easily get a second chance to make a first impression, we hope we can welcome you back as our guest someday soon. We can assure you that we will do our utmost to ensure that we exceed your expectations in every aspect upon your next visit. Best regards, art'otel budapest Management Team

Okay, I stayed here during Feb 2020. 4 nights.
The good things:
great room and view
nice bar area serving decent food
friendly bar area staff and cleaning staff

things to improve
reception staff always seem 'busy with other things' and you may feel a little unwanted
shower low on pressure
internet pretty useless, kept going out and UNSECURED service.

The hotel is under the fishermens bastion and a 4 minute walk to the chain bridge. Not many good places to eat nearby, you have to go into the pest side for better choice it seems. We asked for a taxi to the 'ruin bars' which we thought were well known but the staff didn't seem to know of them and as such we ended up in a taxi that took us to the wrong place. The hotel rooms are big, and the river view rooms have a lovely view. Breakfast is extensive with hot options and at 15 euros it's probably ok. As I said, not much else on this area to choose from.... if you just want coffee/croissant then it's a bit expensive.
All in all it was okay, but could have been a better experience. We ended up not asking anything at reception which is a shame as that's normally the best way of learning about the place etc. I have stayed on the pest side before and feel that you would ahve better choices there for restaurants, coffee bars etc.

Dear Guest, Thank you for providing us with your valuable feedback. We are happy to read that you enjoyed the comfort of your room, our F&B offer as well as the attention of our cleaning and F&B team members. On the more negative note, we are sorry you were not completely satisfied with our hotel. Our reception team is very busy, due to our hotel being always very good booked. But, please feel free to always contact them if you need something (tips on where to eat or drink something, where the attractions are etc.), they will gladly be at your disposal. We did have some problems with the internet, but the company which is responsible is already fixing the issue. We truly hope to get another opportunity to welcome you and improve your opinion on our hotel and service. Best regards, art'otel budapest Management Team

We booked the hotel about a week before arrival as a last minute trip between Christmas and New year. Our first to Hungary! We knew this would be a good hotel to book, with its prime location and availabilty being first preferences. The hotel is situated on the well known River Danube, about 30 minutes from the airport and overlooking the Parliment building across the water, which attracts many tourists to the area. We are so happy to learn we had a river view from the bedroom! We did have to walk over the bridge to find the shops, restaurants and markets etc. The room itself was a very spacious, incredibly clean (probably the cleanest hotel room i have ever seen) It had good facilities, good branded toiletries, a safe and a mini bar. We did find the room was very hot so had to open the large window during sleep, thus making it a bit noisy from passing trams and vehicles. We also found the breakfast to be an expensive add on therefore didn't include it in our stay. We would recommend to friends

I stayed two nights at this hotel in February 2020, this hotel is located in a quiet road not far from the chain bridge and is ideally situated if you prefer to stay away from the hustle and bustle of the main roads.

The room was comfortable and well equipped, I enjoyed staying here but if I was staying longer I think a slightly bigger room would be preferred.

The staff were really friendly and helpful, the bar staff in particular recommended wine for us and remembered our preference on the second night as well.

If I were to return to Budapest I would stay at the Art'otel again, definitely recommended.
