For a city hotel room was quite large and roomy. Twin beds and en-suite bathroom. Towels changed daily. Very clean. Tea/coffee making facilities (added to every day). Small refrigerator (contents at very reasonable prices). Breakfast was fabulous - fruit, cheese, meats, white/brown bread/rolls, yoghurt, coffee, tea, orange juice, water, scrambled/fried eggs. But it is the staff who make this hotel... More

I spent three nights here - a one, and then a week later, two. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff here, and I was made to feel welcome straight away. My room, on the top floor, had a small balcony, so I had views of the city. The mini bar, refreshments and bathroom were well stocked and clean.... More

Carol and Ann stayed 1O days July 2O16. This is a fantastic hotel and we have stayed in a number of varying accommodations in Europe in the past. We are well seasoned travellers and have found the hotel exceptionally clean. Clean towels daily and fresh linen as required, daily if it is necessary. Breakfast is very good and caters for... More

We stayed in this hotel for one night but would have happily stayed for much longer. We felt completely safe and was extremely good value for money. Everyone was so lovely and really helpful, and we couldn't be more thankful for their help with what to do in Budapest and getting around etc. Delicious breakfast with great variety and a... More

I am about to check out from this hotel, and I'm very sad about it. If you are looking for a hotel where everything is shiny, new, and modern, this is not the place for you. However, if you want a very affordable place that is clean, safe, and has good-sized, air-conditioned rooms and great service, this place is perfect... More

I stayed at Hotel Orion for five nights during a trip for dental work. I've stayed at several Budapest hotels over the years and this hotel has just become one of my faves. When you're travelling for dental work, you enjoy different aspects of a hotel than other guests might. Spa facilities, gyms, etc often can't be used due to... More

The location was quiet and beautiful, a bit far from restaurants and bars, but the bus went to the city center every five or ten minutes so it wasn't a problem. The hotel was clean and beds were comfortable, also the airconditioning was a huge plus, didn't expect that with such low prices. And Wi-fi connection was very good. Would... More

A Mercure level type hotel (used to be a Best Western Hotel) situated 1 street away from the Danube and the Elizabeth Bridge. Ideally suited for tourism with the Hop on and hop off bus stop only 5 minutes down the road. Despite it closeness, there is no view of the river as situated behind a large building. The hotel... Stayed here in June 2016 for several nights. Good location, on Buda side, one street from Danube, near Elizabeth Bridge (between Chain and Elizabeth Bridges). Very clean. Staff very willing to help - good English. Excellent breakfasts. Quiet area. Not a "fancy" hotel, but very comfortable. Good beds.

The Hotel is really quite well situated in Buda, within comfortable walking distance of several attractions nearby. The hotel staff are wonderfully attentive and helpful, nothing was ever too much trouble for them, night and day. The rooms are comfortable and appointed to their value, we wanted for nothing realistically. The room was air conditioned, which given the evening temperatures... More

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighborhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
