We’ve just spent four nights at the Medosz hotel in Budapest. Got a taxi from the airport which took 25 minutes and cost €21. The hotel from the outside is a little uninviting as is the reception and the lounge area. We booked a superior double room which was as described and of modern appearance. The beds were really comfy though slightly on the hard side however I prefer this. A really good shower however frustrating that the shower doors don’t close properly in the middle therefore water spews out onto the bathroom floor. Tea and coffee making in the room however they didn’t replenish the supplies of coffee in the four night duration. When I asked at reception for some they said “we’ve run out!!!”

When I booked the hotel I didn’t really know what the area was like however it was good and in fact one of the adjacent streets has dozens of high-end designer shops on it.

Its few hundred metres from the nearest Metro and also a stop for the ‘red sightseeing tour’ bus which we used for two days.

It wasn’t really like staying in a hotel as we saw no one and didn’t generally get a welcome (Meaning a hello, how are you, good evening etc..) from the reception every time we passed by.

We didn’t pay for breakfast which was a great decision as there are so many places in and around the area where you can have one.

Just around the corner theres a wonderful little shop that has simply the best empanadas!!

The hotel made very little effort to make you want to return and it’s for this reason that we wouldn’t.

I booked a week in the hotel’s panorama suite for myself and my girlfriend. It is on the top floor and offers stunning views of the city (citadella, castle, parliament). Book room 1002 if you can. Comfortable bed , spacious room included couch , 2 mirrors 2 tables, jacuzzi bathroom and kitchen area. The terrace was a massive bonus as we spent our mornings and evenings before dinner out having a few drinks. Location was excellent with it being 15 minutes walk from the parliament and ruin bar area and only 5 minute taxi to the thermal baths and st stephens basilica. Very friendly and helpful staff. Pricing was very reasonable on hotels.com

Would highly recommend to anyone

The Medos hotel is actually in a very well located for accessing the central Budapest area. The small square it is situated on is set back enough from the main road, so as not to have any noise. The breakfast is more than adequate and covers the essentials you would be expect. It is more a continental breakfast and includes cooked sausages and scrambled eggs.

I was in a Comfort room, their basic room. It was comfortable and clean. These rooms do not come with a kettle and tea/coffee but on asking, the hotel was more than happy to provide. My room had a TV, bath/shower, table, chair storage for clothes, a safe and fridge.

The hotel does not yet have a bar area (although we did recommend they consider one). Despite that there are two bars located directly outside the hotel which were very nice, pleasant and served decent drink and snacks.

The area outside the hotel has bars and restaurants but you will need to walk a couple of blocks (5 or 10 minutes) for more appealing places to eat and drink.

When you come out of the hotel, you can turn left and walk directly onto the Octagon (Maine cross roads), from where you can walk towards Spas and House of Horror, the ex Stasi museum, which is well worth a visit. Turning right from the main road in front of the hotel, takes you down the boulevard with the more pricy boutiques (Rolex, LV etc) and down towards the river, where you can cross and walk up the hill to the parliament and older part of the city. Well worth the walk, which took as thirty to forty minutes.

We did go and visit the central market for some food, although you need to get there a little earlier for lunch as it was heaving with "tourists" ;-).

The main Spa was well worth the walk (it is located in Central Park) and you could easily spend a day there. If your hotel has towels, borrow those as the spa will only sell you a towel.

We stayed here for a 3 night weekend break, Friday to Monday. Booked through booking.com and got an amazing deal for a superior double room. Cannot fault the hotel. Arrived at 2pm; check in was easy, room was ready and staff were friendly. Room and bathroom was spotlessly clean and spacious. Breakfast was adequate; lots of options available including cereal, pastries, rolls, meats/cheese, fruit, yoghurts and some hot items also each day. Very central location, lots of bars and restaurants within easy reach and all the main sights are walkable from here. Close to Oktagon underground station also. We enjoyed our stay and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again if we visit Budapest in the future.

Good location for walking or public transportation.
We got a quiet room and comfy.
The shower kept leaking to the floor.
Daily cleaning wasn't good, around 3 day my dust allergies started to flare up.
A water boiler for tea could have been nice.

This hotel is in a perfect location and is surrounded by cafes/bars with only a 10 min walk to the main shopping/eating district. The rooms are simplistic and very clean (ideal for us as we only ever use hotels as a base). I would definitely recommend this hotel and when I next visit Budapest, would stay here again.

Nothing was a problem for the brilliant reception team, all very friendly, all very knowledgeable on local amenities.
The room was very nice, spacious enough with a large bed, armchair and dressing area. The shower was fabulous, very powerful and lovely and hot at all times, and I did shower at some strange times.
Breakfast was simple , but more than ample , the young dark haired lady on the desk, was also very welcoming, a lovely smile to brighten your morning. There was a hot selection of scrambled eggs and some franks, but I went for the more continental option, which was fresh and very tasty , also fresh pastries and breads on offer.
Overall ,a very pleasant stay and as a regular visitor of Budapest, a hotel which I will happily use again . Koszi Medosz staff 😁

Travelled with my 3 sisters.
Great location, rooms were very clean. We requested a kettle in the rooms and they were supplied without a bother.
We bought the 2 day red bus ticket at reception and it was great value. The cruise was included in the ticket and we did both the day and evening cruise.
The breakfast was lovely and there was a very good selection of food.

First of all, I would like to thanks the Reservation team who helped me to remotely arrange a present for my parents who were staying at this hotel. They responded very quickly each time. All the personnel in hotel were so nice and helpful. Breakfasts were very tasty and fresh each day, and room was very clean, new and with excellent view on the city. And btw, the location is great, you can get to most sights by foot and enjoy the city!

Decent hotel in a good location. Rooms seem to be varied and not of uniform standard. Clean enough. Decent standard.lNothing luxurious but if you are only sleeping it’s fine
Breakfast is poor at 10 euro pp but save your money and eat at one of the many cafes nearby
