If i could give 3.5 i would as this isnt a bad enough hotel for a 3 but not good enough for a 4 Stayed here from 20/07/2022 up until 23/07/2022. Positives, Reception staff always polite and despite arriving at 12.30pm, Room was ready. Room lovely, cleaned to a high standard. Bathroom spotless and spacious also. bed extremely comfy and air conditioning was a godsend with the 40 degree plus outside temp. Balcony great Negatives Great to see a coffee machine in the room, thought how nice to sit on the balcony first thing and enjoy a coffee, then spot that a coffee capsule is part of the mini bar and not free. Really in a 4 star hotel, they want to charge for the in room coffee. Never experienced anything like this anywhere else and i see myself as a seasoned traveller. Breakfast, hot food in the 3 days we ate was never hot, warm at best, and the same choice every day. Bacon, sausage, scrambled egg and beans. Cold food was plentiful though. Hotel bar shut at 10pm and not the advertised midnight. We came back at 10:30pm on our first night hopeful of a night cap. Dont advertise something and then not do it All in all we enjoyed our stay, but dont know if id recommend staying here or rush back. Its the finer details that make it all worthwhile, and something this hotel sadly lacks…
The location is excellent, in a quiet leafy area once inhabited by the artistocratic and wealthy families of Budapest, and now home to many embassies. We had a nice comfortable room, and were delighted to see that there was a coffee machine. However, this is the first time that I have ever seen a hotel charge for the coffee capsules or tea used!!! Not my idea of good customer service, and in a four-star hotel frequented by many tourists?? We had dinner in the restaurant - La Perle Noire - on our first night, as we had read that the restaurant offers high quality, excellent Hungarian and French food. Well, what a surprise we had! There was a choice of three starters, two of which were Caesar salad, one with chicken and one without. The main courses on offer were also a choice of three things. The food was perfectly OK but nothing special, however our waiter was very knowledgeable about wine and made some excellent recommendations and somewhat saved our evening. We stayed at the hotel for three nights, and checked the menu available on a daily basis - we were astounded to see that it was the same menu each day for lunch and dinner. Needless to say we did not eat there again. Breakfast was also rather hit and miss. If you came quite early all the platters were well stocked but if you came later there were near empty serving platters and you had to ask someone to replenish them and then wait around for some time while someone went to sort it out. Not good enough. The reception staff were also somewhat of a hit and miss - some were very switched on and could help you immediately with what you needed, others seemed rather clueless. A great shame, as this could be a truly wonderful hotel due to its location, but there need to be some changes.…
As part of the VBT trip we stayed at your hotel this week. Unfortunately one of us tested positive for Covid-19 and due to the fact that we were scheduled to fly back to the US, we needed to extend our stay and quarantine. Mark, at the front desk, provided outstanding service. He helped make arrangement for our extended stay and helped us contact the travel services included with our VBT trip. He made sure we had food though room service and personally delivered menus and food. Mark made a bad situation much better and we are very grateful for his help. Jim Slavin
I stayed at this hotel 6/4-6/7 and felt very fortunate. It's located in a beautiful neighborhood that was great for walking to nearby restaurants and museums. Room was spacious and bathroom was very clean. My stay was extended because I tested positive for Covid before flying back to the US and the reception staff were so helpful in making arrangements for room service and rebooking the taxi transport to the airport and printing my boarding pass. I especially want to give a shout to Mark, in reception, who went above and beyond his job. He clearly took pride in helping us and making my unfortunate situation as good as it could be.
No ice in the bar Coffee machine not working Juice machine not working Restaurant not functioning 3 duvets for 4 of us Bed not set out for 4 of us No toilet paper No shower gel No tissues No condiments in the restaurant Food ok, but not that good Restaurant empty .... Staff new and not trained or supported, they did very well, but no help given NOT a premium hotel and certainly not to the standards of the hotel group. Find another good hotel, there are lots in Budapest
We spent 4 nights 3 days here. A lovely hotel very close to Heroes Square. A bit of a walk into the centre. We enjoyed all the walking. You can get a hop on hop off bus from Heroes Square. Great rooms spacious and clean. The bath is the deepest I have ever seen. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
We stayed here for 3 nights in deluxe suite which had everything you could want, very clean and good service. In good location just a 10/15 minute walk to all the bars and restaurants and close to Hero Square and Szechenyi Spa about 5 minutes walk away. Staff were very nice and good selection for breakfast, only down side hot food was not hot on any of our 3 days, shame as would have given 5* if it was
We stayed for 3 nights in this lovely hotel at the beginning of February. The room was of a high standard, well equipped and spacious. We were very impressed with the customer service, in particular the young man on reception all of Saturday and Sunday. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. Close to the Jewish quarter and 30 minutes walk to the Danube. We chose room only and had breakfast out and about.
