We stayed here for a long weekend in December and paid a little more for a room overlooking the Danube - the views were fabulous and the hotel highly recommended - could not fault the room, helpfulness of all the staff etc. The situation on the hill in the beautiful castle district, overlooking the Fishermens Bastion and the whole city,...

Dispensing with the standard Hilton room and service, once cannot find a better view of the city than from this high perch in the Buda hills looking down on the Danube, lower Pest and the magnificent Parliament building. There is plenty to explore nearby as well. We actually moved here from a grand hotel on the on the other side...

The Budapest Hilton is an iconic hotel in the lovely Castle district of Budapest. The views from the hotel are among the best in the city. The hotel is just perfect, my room had recently been refurbished to a very high standard, the bathroom was particularly impressive.

Stayed 3 nights at the Hilton in Buda part of Budapest. First rate hotel in an optimum location with breathtaking views of the Danube and the lower Pest side. Next door is the historic St Michael's Church. Within walking distance on the same street are 4 or 5 excellent restaurants, most with outside seating available. Take the cog wheel car...

ference. I have lived in Budapest both in Buda and Pest as I was married to a Hungarian but this Hilton has the best location and views. Breakfast buffet was great and with the exception of the surly and inattentive waitresses at breakfast my stay was superlative.

We decided on an impromptu trip to Budapest from Poland, and made reservations on Thursday night for Saturday, the only night we would have in Budapest. We essentially knew nothing about the city, and actually researched several other smaller boutique hotels first. We needed four rooms as we were four business colleagues. After calling the other hotels and being told...

Great position. Opt for the Danube view for the best view of Budapest. Great helpful staff, good breakfast food. Rooms good size and very clean. Good Internet but typically you have to sign in ever day which was a bit of a pain. I would (and have already) recommended this hotel to anyone going to Budapest.

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighborhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
