District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.

Hotel is right next to the famous Fisherman's Bastion and St. Michael's Church and due to this the area around the hotel can be very crowded with tourists. I'd still stay here though coz you can't beat the view and it offers several good restaurants within a five-minute walk. Staff are helpful and overall, the hotel is very clean and spacious. I'd recommend a room with a view of the Parliament.

We stayed at the Hilton on Castle Hill prior to a river cruise and I must say it was one of the best choices we have ever made. The view from the hotel overlooks the river as well as the city. During the day there are lots of tourist but at night the area is very calm and quiet. Many small shops as well as small markets and restaurants are nearby. It is only a short walk to catch the local bus t the larger markets and tourist areas. The river cruise ports are very nearby, depending on the water level. Breakfast at the Hilton was very good.

Excellent Hilton. With the location, it's one of the best I've ever stayed at. You are at the top of the hill in the Castle District and the views of the Danube and Parliament are the best in Budapest. Modern rooms and good breakfast make this a prime location.

I really can't fault this hotel, though I don't know about the value, as we were on a cruise package. Just one comment - because it is built into an old monastery, the hotel is very spread out. Some areas have to be accessed by particular lifts, and if you get the wrong lift you have to go back down and start again. If you are less mobile, you should take care to get a room which is not such a long walk from the entrance! This is not a complaint, it is a consequence of the location. I would describe the rooms as excellent, but having slightly dull decor. Our bed was huge. Very good AC.
