The view of the Castle and Danube is superb. The rooms are okay but not luxurious and the bathrooms are small. Armchair could be lovely to sit in and look at the view, but it's hard and uncomfortable. Air-conditioning noisy. Executive club can be crowded and allows too many children. BUT my small complaints were immediately and extremely efficiently attended... More

Hotel's situated in the nicer parts of Budapest, right by the side of the Danube. A lot of locations can be reached by foot. We walked a lot as the weather was perfect. Hotel's reachable by metro, bus and light rail. Enjoyed our stay. Won't hesitate to return to the Budapest Marriott on our next visit to this wonderful city.

One of the best Marriotts I have stayed in around the world. The club lounge is awesome but does get full in the evenings. The rooms are good and modern. The gym is great and the service is awesome. It is also in a perfect location to walk along the river.

We stayed at the Mariott Hotel for a night before our River Cruise to Amsterdam. I found the Hotel to be very centrally located. We were able to do lots of sightseeing. You are so close to everything. There is a row of lovely bars and restaurants right next door. Just perfect.

This is a lovely hotel with an excellent location. We stayed for two nights as an extra to our river cruise. Our room was spacious and immaculately clean. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, including booking us a restaurant and getting us a taxi when we needed one. We had a great view of the river, and it was... More

If you are looking for a hotel that has it all then stay at the Budapest Marriott. The service, staff and location are all outstanding. Sits right on the Danube River with easy access to city center, local tours, and the Hop-On, Hop Off Tour Buses. You won't be disappointed with this hotel or the fabulous city.

I am staying in Budapest frequently, also in different hotels, but with no doubt the Marriott at the Danube is my favorite hotel in Budapest. It is on the short list of my most favorite hotels in Europe. It feels like being in a 5 star hotel, it has „space“ to breathe and offers many different sections: You’ll find restaurant,... More

My husband and I stayed at Marriott, Budapest, while visiting the city two years ago. The hotel has everything you need as a tourist, perfect location (5-10 minutes to all the attractions in Budapest), stunning views of the Danube, very good breakfast and large, clean and well equiped rooms. The staff was very nice and helpful especially the concierge who... More

I stayed for two nights on a business trip. Pluses: - comfort of the bed, plus 6 pillows; - view from the room; - air conditioning. Minuses. I stayed in a "deluxe" room. So very surprised not to find splippers and bathrobe. Water pressure in the shower was very low. I understand we care about nature, but it is too... More

Loved the Budapest Marriott. We had 3 three rooms for our family traveling together and they all had an amazing view of the Danube. Breakfast included at Peppers or the executive lounge for members was a huge perk! The executive lounge is one of the best I've frequented as a Marriott Gold member. They had wonderful selections and an awesome... More

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
