District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.

We spent 3 days in Budapest. The Restaurant of the Hotel provides an Amazing View over the city. Our Lovely waitress, Laura, helped us to choose our authentic Hungarian Dinner , with local wine pairing, gave us a perfect taste of the local cuisine. She also recommended some places worth to visit. 5* Food 5* Service 5* Wines 5* City

We really liked this hotel -- the best we stayed in this past trip to Europe. We'd go back in a heartbeat. I'd highly advise paying for (or getting upgraded if platinum or titanium) to the executive level rooms. The view in the morning and at sunset is just break-taking from the executive lounge. We also found the selection and quality of food and drink to be exceptional for a Marriott lounge (except for the sausage and eggs at breakfast which were completely cold each morning and the eggs completely flavorless). But we will forgive them for that, because the afternoon happy hour was fantastic. I'm Titanium status with Marriott so i got the executive room upgrade for free but i'd definitely pay for it if I wasn't titanium and stayed at this property. The rooms were modern and of good size for Europe. The bathrooms were unfortunately small (maybe pull up the tub and replace with a small standing shower, so that you can enlarge the sink area?? We liked the sort of lounge couch by the window. It had many outlets to connect ipads, laptops, and iphones to and we used this space extensively. The valet bellhops were very helpful and kind. The front desk staff and executive lounge staff were very friendly and affable. Highly recommended!

The Marriott Budapest Hotel - The Breakfast Buffet was 'to die for', the selections were great. My wife loved the room with the double beds; because she doesn't like to share a bed with me - tend to 'roll around too much' (which will become a problem with the room in Amsterdam). I know that Keo Oudone, Mo, and Kiyo all enjoyed the coffee machines (just liking having Starbucks at you fingertips). The view from the Restaurant in the morning of the Danube River looking across to the older city was breath taking - I took some pictures and posted them on Facebook and got a few hits. We could not have asked for a nicer location that what you had given us - I don't know if you were able to see them on Facebook or not; they are so unbelievable. Even when it rained we had a wonderful time just riding around on the hop-on-hop-off. The rooms had free WiFi (as all Hotels did that we stayed at); no USB ports - provided own - had my own converter.

Corner suite had fabulous view of Chain and Elizabeth bridges with a balcony. Rooms have been recently renovated and are clean and comfortable. The hotel location was convenient to the tram and close to shopping and restaurants. We would stay here again without hesitation.

Situated on the Danube it provides easy access to the Castle District, the City Center Square and the Jewish Quarter. They offer a very good breakfast. The staff was friendly and very helpful. They made good recommendations when we asked. HOWEVER: The tour groups tend to use this hotel so you do need to be aware of the “swarm” at various times in the morning and check-in time.
