I'm used to a certain level while staying at Marriott, and this specific one didn't match other Marriott hotels in other countries, too old building, bathroom was below expectations, with only showers no bath tub. Over priced for no offerings in return. Location the advantage for staying there for two nights. Walkable to many main places between Buda and Pest.... More

Chosen because of proximity to River Cruise Docks, local transport and cafés & restaurants. Hop on/hop off bus and river stops are within easy walking distance. All hotel rooms appear to enjoy wonderful Danube River views, are well appointed & serviced and have basic toiletries in generously proportioned bathrooms. The restaurant offers a varied buffet breakfast and interesting menu throughout... More

Great place to stay. Situated perfectly to sights, metro, restaurants and perfect view of palace. Staff is very helpful and attentive. Marriott elites have access to a top notch lounge on executive floor.

Spent two nights at the Budapest Marriott before river cruise. Booked a shuttle from airport to hotel. Hotel is right on the river with fantastic views day and night. Catch tram that runs up and down the Danube right out front. Metro stop two blocks away. Very friendly and helpful staff. Had the best ribs ever in the restaurant.

This hotel is in the perfect location. Our room faced the Danube River, and we had an amazing view from our room. We loved the executive lounge. It has a balcony where you overlook the river and can see the chain bridge. We enjoyed sitting out there at sunset and watching the lights turn on in the city. The staff... More

Stayed at this hotel before embarking on a Scenic river cruise. The hotel is in a great position making it easy to walk to most sites. Views from the room are brilliant looking towards Buda and its fabulous buildings. Breakfast very good with plenty of room in the restaurant.

Incredible location on the Danube with awesome views! A fairly typical Marriott but in great shape. The breakfast buffet is very good. The bar area is well done and has a wonderful patio looking out at the river. The executive lounge is fantastic with a large outdoor patio looking over the river at the castle on the Buda side. Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
